Apologize to Your Sister Now
Kevin Zhuo was so furious, he didn’t even stop to think. He frowned at Maya Summers’ words.
"You really don’t use your brain, do you? And you won’t even admit it!" Maya Summers shot Kevin Zhuo a glare and walked off.
Grace Lawrence watched Maya Summers leave, feeling a bit dazed.
She’s truly a rare woman, genuine and full of emotion.
In this house, aside from her father, only this little aunt showed any real care for Lena, Grace Lawrence’s mother.
She often spoke up for her mother in front of the old madam.
Maybe Maya Summers liked Lena’s kindness and beauty, or maybe she had a soft spot for her brother and sister-in-law, so she was always kind to Lena.
But that had nothing to do with Grace Lawrence.
To Maya Summers, Kevin Zhuo was an idiot.
And Grace Lawrence? She was the queen of all idiots.
A couple years ago, she’d still try to talk sense into her. Now, she couldn’t even be bothered to speak.
Just like now—she turned and left without a word.
She probably went to the old madam to talk to Grace Wan.
Grace Wan quickly came out and scolded Kevin Zhuo right in front of Grace: "Kevin, why are you making trouble with Cynthia again?"
"Mom, why do you always protect her?" Kevin Zhuo looked at Grace Lawrence like she was garbage. "Is it really worth it to hit Cynthia Zhu and lock her up over this useless thing?"
"You don’t understand, so stop talking nonsense!" Grace Wan snapped.
"How do I not understand?" Kevin Zhuo shot back. "Cynthia Zhu already told me—it was Grace Lawrence who poured spiritual energy into Cynthia Zhu. But you don’t believe Cynthia Zhu at all."
"Do you even know what kind of person Grace Lawrence is? How could she possibly transfer spiritual energy to Cynthia Zhu?" Grace Wan frowned.
"Possible or not, let’s just get her tested and find out! I trust Cynthia Zhu wouldn’t lie." Kevin Zhuo grabbed Grace Lawrence’s wrist and dragged her off. "Come on, let’s go to the martial academy and test you. Maybe your spirit root finally grew!"
Grace Lawrence suppressed the murderous look in her eyes, yanked her hand free, and said, "So Cynthia Zhu still won’t let it go? Fine, tomorrow at the palace, I’ll tell the Emperor and Empress myself—swap my name for hers! Will that make everyone happy?"
Grace Wan panicked and hurried to calm her down. "Grace Lawrence, don’t say things you don’t mean! This isn’t a joke. If you anger the Empress or the Emperor, our whole family could be in trouble!"
"I don’t care!" Grace Lawrence, the pampered eldest daughter, finally exploded. "If Aunt Maya hadn’t stepped in, Kevin Zhuo would’ve beaten me to death! Today, either you kill me, or I’m going to say something! Who cares about being an imperial consort? You’re all scheming for that spot, but a concubine is still a concubine—never good enough!"
"What the hell did you just say!" Kevin Zhuo was furious and tried to hit her again.
Grace Wan was nearly driven mad by her words.
But Grace Wan was afraid Grace Lawrence might actually do something outrageous tomorrow, so she swallowed her anger and blocked Kevin Zhuo, using her own body to shield Grace Lawrence. She yelled, "Kevin, what are you doing!"
"Mom, get out of the way! If I don’t cripple this useless thing today, I’m not a Zhuo!" Kevin Zhuo shouted angrily.
"Shut up! Is that how a brother should talk?" Grace Wan held Grace Lawrence tightly and snapped, "Hurry up and apologize to your sister!"
"What! You want me to apologize to her? No. Way." Kevin Zhuo refused flatly.
"If you don’t apologize to her today and something really happens, can you take responsibility for that?" Grace Wan turned her back to Grace Lawrence and shot Kevin Zhuo a look.
