Clues to the Abyss of Ten Thousand Demons and Soul Mushroom
"Trying to run? You think it's that easy? So, have you finally realized just how terrifying I am?" Evan Chu appeared before the City Lord and the old guardian, his voice cold and mocking.
"Kid, just who the hell are you? Why have you come to our Demonic Realm? Now that we've lost the Immortal-Demon War, are you Immortals planning to wipe out our entire realm?" The City Lord stared at Evan Chu, his face tight with fear. This kid's power was beyond monstrous—there was no way he could ever match him.
"You can relax about that. I have no intention of exterminating the Demonic Realm. If we've come here, it's for a reason. If you behave and answer a few of my questions, maybe I'll let you walk out of here alive. Otherwise, you'll end up just like all those corpses lying around." Evan Chu said blandly, but the threat in his words was unmistakable.
"Dream on! I'd rather die than let you learn any secrets of the Demonic Realm!" The old guardian roared, unable to stomach Evan Chu's arrogant words for even a second.
"Secrets? What secrets could your Demonic Realm possibly have? If I wanted to destroy you all, it'd be laughably easy. Old man, looks like you won't eat a toast when offered, but insist on drinking the penalty wine instead. You even dared to injure my friend—so you die here today. As for the City Lord, I might just let him live for now." Evan Chu sneered, his words scornful and full of disdain.
With a single thought, Evan Chu unleashed his Icefire Eye. He didn't believe this old man was another cursed type like the Yin–Yang Demon Empress—if he was, then Evan's luck was just rotten. Running into two cursed freaks in a row? That'd be the worst luck in the world.
Twin beams of ice and fire burst from Evan Chu's eyes, blasting straight through the old guardian's body and punching two massive bloody holes in him. His demonic infant was destroyed in that instant, and his corpse crashed into the lake below, splashing up countless waves.
Just like that, a demigod-level powerhouse was killed on the spot. Evan Chu's strength had already shattered the City Lord's imagination—even the Yin–Yang Demon Empress might not have been able to kill someone like this so cleanly. Who was this monster, really, to wield such terrifying power in the Immortal Realm?
The City Lord was scared out of his wits, his face turning ugly with terror. He was used to living high and mighty as the ruler of a city—how could he possibly accept dying here like an ant?
"Who are you, really? What do you want from me? If you let me live, I'll tell you everything I know!" The City Lord pleaded, forced to choose survival over pride in the face of absolute power.
