Opening Ceremony

12/7/2025

Three days later, all of us returned to the entrance of Ten Tribunal Road, the place where we had gone up. One car had been driven away, leaving just one vehicle. It fit the five of us perfectly: Lan Ruoxi, Lan Yin, Old Eccentric, Vincent Swallow, and Hu Tianshuo.

Lan Yin was casually dressed in black pants and a white shirt. The style looked a bit old, as if it was from twenty or thirty years ago.

"It's been a long time since I've been outside. Hehe, let's go get something to eat first."

As Lan Yin said this, he headed into a shop on his own, and we could only follow him inside.

"What are you doing!"

The four of us had just stepped into the shop when we saw Lan Yin holding his mouth. A pretty decent-looking waitress had already splashed water all over his face from the glass she was carrying, and he got slapped as well.

"No, miss, I really didn't do it on purpose, it was an accident. Besides, you're so pretty, honestly, I was hoping to ask you out!"

In the end, all of us were thrown out of the shop. The boss looked furious, while Lan Yin just looked helpless.

"Didn't that bastard Lan Qinmo say girls nowadays are really open? That's not right, that kid lied to me."

I was furious. Looking at Lan Yin, one person immediately popped into my mind—my cousin.

Helpless, we had no choice but to find another restaurant. Yet, Lan Yin’s gaze remained fixed on those female servers, and he looked like he wanted to go over and chat them up.

"When this is all over, I’ll take you somewhere fun," Hugh Thompson said to Lan Yin with a grin. Just then, Rachel Lan shot me a glare.

"I’m not going," she said firmly.

After dinner, we got into the car. Hugh Thompson had already called Stone Ji and asked him to notify Yun Mei. Once we returned to the city, we planned to head straight to Longxi Plaza. I just hoped to see my cousin soon and for him to recover.

"Kid, since we have some time now, tell us—what did Lan Qinmo actually teach you?"

"Lan Yin, my name is Rachel Lan. My father didn’t really teach me any practical techniques. He only told me some things about soul collection, ways to guide souls, and a lot about ghosts. There’s also the Divination Arts."

"Sigh, that guy really dropped the ball—not teaching you properly when you don’t even have the basics. As a Hades Circle Born, I’ve seen your spirit shroud. It’s weak and incomplete."

Lan Yin sat in the back with Vincent Swallow. Rachel Lan turned to him, eager to start learning right away.

"This silk, exactly as the name suggests, is unique to those born in the Hades Circle. It exists from birth—a manifestation of the soul itself. Pure souls can release threads that gather like gauze. For Hades Circle Born, as long as the soul survives, even if damaged, it can recover over time. This power weaves the soul’s own threads into gauze, serving as an auxiliary technique for us."

Lan Yin explained. At that moment, Vincent Swallow gave a small smile.
