Witnessing a Miracle (2)

"Who do you want to borrow?" Xiska Mon asked coolly.

"Him, and him!" Ivy Shen pointed at the so-called Fire God and Ice God.

Fire God and Ice God exchanged glances, totally lost about what she was up to.

"Do you realize the consequences?" For some reason, Xiska Mon suddenly felt a twinge of worry. He frowned—what was going on with him?!

"I know what you're about to say, but sorry—the consequences you mean? They're not happening!" Ivy Shen was as stubborn as ever.

Xiska Mon curled his lips, knowing this woman would never back down no matter what. So he waved the two forward.

"Your Majesty..." Both men sounded annoyed, but since the king wasn't saying anything else, they had no choice but to step up.

"What do you want from us?" Fire God shot her a seriously annoyed look—obviously, he wasn't about to be nice to someone who just crashed the ritual.

"I heard you can spit fire?" Ivy Shen asked, genuinely curious.

"Obviously."

"That awesome?" Ivy raised her brows, suddenly grinning. "Since you're so skilled, can you make it into a bubble? Like, a round one? You're fire, so the bubble should be hot."

"A bubble? What do you even need a bubble for?"

"Come on, just make one for me, okay?" Ivy ignored his question and kept going.

Fire God looked super annoyed but did it anyway—he made a bubble. Ivy reached out and poked it. 'Pop!' It burst.

Ivy finally cracked a smile. "You really are awesome!"

Fire God arched his brows, looking smug and full of himself.

Then Ivy turned to Ice God. "Can you make a bubble like that too?"

Ice God had no idea what she was up to, but his competitive streak kicked in and he quickly made a bubble.

"Amazing!" Ivy gave him a big thumbs-up, then turned to Fire God. "Make more bubbles, please—aim them at that cloud."

"What are you trying to do?" Fire God grumbled, like she was making him play with bubbles in public.

"Don't worry about it, just do what I tell you! Hurry up!" Ivy Shen ordered, ignoring Fire God's irritation.

Fire God, still annoyed, reluctantly stretched out his hand and slowly sent a bubble drifting toward the sky.

"Not big enough—keep going, more, more! That's right, aim at that cloud!" Ivy was delighted to see the bubbles really forming.

"What exactly are you trying to do? I don't have time to play with you!" Fire God finally snapped—he was respected throughout the land, and couldn't stand being mocked by this woman.

"Why are you yelling? Don't forget, your king already lent you to me. Do what I say!" Ivy shouted even louder, then glared at Ice God. "What are you standing around for? You too—make bubbles, aim at that cloud!"

Ice God looked seriously annoyed, but then Xiska Mon's cool voice floated over: "Listen to her!"—a command he couldn't refuse.

So, despite their anger, the two supernaturals kept making bubbles and sending them up toward the cloud, unable to defy the order.

Ivy was tense—there were no rainmaking machines here, no modern tech. Making it rain felt almost impossible.

Watching the bubbles grow, Ivy felt totally unsure. She remembered seeing Nami in One Piece use a weather staff—if heat and cold bubbles merged, it could rain. But that was just anime.

But if she gave up on this gamble, the child wouldn't be saved, and the cruel sacrifices would keep going.

The hot and cold bubbles kept rising, slowly merging into the rain cloud. Soon, the cloud started to swell.

As the cloud grew bigger and thicker, a gray haze spread over the square.

The people barely dared to breathe. Clouds this dark and thick—they couldn't remember the last time they'd seen anything like it.

With the bubbles getting bigger and the cloud heavier, the rain cloud seemed ready to burst, pressing down like it might fall.

Xiska Mon frowned at the scene, suddenly feeling inexplicably moved.

"Faster, hurry!" Ivy shouted at Fire God and Ice God, excitement rising as the cloud thickened and spread.

Seeing this, the two gods dropped their skepticism and got serious, working even harder despite sweating buckets.

Just then, as the rain cloud seemed about to fall, something started to drop from above…

One drop, two drops, three drops…

Suddenly, the cloud couldn't hold back anymore. With a loud rush, torrential rain poured from the sky, soaking everyone.

"Ah! I did it, I did it!" Ivy cried, jumping up like a child as rain fell. Her voice was the only one in the square, besides the sound of rain.

Everyone stared in disbelief at the excited girl on stage. Every eye was filled with awe and shock. For the first time, the three elders were speechless.

"Xin'er..." All seven husbands were stunned—she had really made it rain! Wasn't that something only Heaven could do?!

Xin'er, Xin'er, just how many secrets do you have? How powerful are you?!

Their hearts were shaken, but mostly thrilled—they were lucky to have met such a mesmerizing, mysterious woman. How could their Xin'er be so wonderful?!

"She... she..." Night Qingqing clung to Ah Tian, too stunned to speak. How could she really make it rain?!

No, it can't be. I must be dreaming, I must be dreaming!

"Miss, that hurts!" Ah Tian cried out, yanked by Night Qingqing. The pain reminded her—this was real, not a dream.

Ke Liang, standing beside Liu Qingyan, was truly awed for the first time. Now he understood why he'd lost—he wasn't as smart, kind, or magical as her. She really could make it rain! Who was she?!

"Xin'er..." Xu Ning's eyes reddened—she really hadn't loved the wrong person. Xin'er was truly perfect!

"It's raining, it's raining! Look, it's really raining!" Ivy yelled, overjoyed as everyone else stood stunned.

She did it. She really did it. The cruel sacrifices could end, and the children wouldn't have to die anymore…

The people snapped out of it and the square erupted in deafening cheers. Everyone rushed home to grab anything that could hold water.

"It's raining—finally raining!" Lao Fang cried, hugging his child Lele. His child wouldn't have to die now…

"Grand Elder, Grand Elder..." Second and Third Elder called out to the dazed First Elder.

"She... she really made it rain?" Grand Elder reached out, trembling, to catch the falling rain.

"Grand Elder..." The other two elders looked at Ivy on stage, no longer with disdain but deep respect.

Xiska Mon was stunned by the scene, silent for a long moment, his eyes suddenly blazing with heat that the rain couldn't quench.

Ivy felt a powerful gaze behind her and turned, meeting his shocked golden eyes. She smiled, proud and defiant. "I told you, the consequences you predicted don't exist!" she said clearly.

Xiska Mon shuddered at her words, heart pounding. What kind of woman was she?!

The two revered gods stopped as the rain began, exchanging a look. Neither knew how to explain this miracle.

Was that woman really not just talking big?!

"Goddess! The goddess has descended!" someone in the crowd shouted, followed by thousands more. "Goddess! Goddess!"

In an instant, everyone knelt, bowing to Ivy.
