Luring the Enemy Deep

Evan Yang followed the person who came to fetch him, quickly arriving on Storm God Star. Inside the Star Lord's Mansion, he saw the Star Lord of Storm God Star and Iris Ying; both were waiting at the entrance for Evan's arrival.

"Welcome," said the Star Lord with a smile.

"Why did you invite me here?" Evan Yang asked with a smile.

The Star Lord glanced at Evan Yang. Beside him, Iris Ying smiled and said, "You're in such a hurry to find powerful creatures—surely it's because you want to become a Top Hunter, isn't it?"

"That's right, that's exactly it," Evan Yang replied with a smile.

"Maybe we have what you're looking for," Iris Ying said with a smile.

"Is that so? Then please tell me," Evan Yang said.

"There are too many people outside. Let's go inside the mansion," Iris Ying said with a smile.

The Star Lord also gestured to invite him in, then respectfully welcomed Evan Yang into the mansion. Inside, a grand banquet had already been prepared, waiting for Evan's arrival.

Evan Yang glanced around and laughed, "What's all this?"

"Yes, that's exactly right," Evan Yang replied.

"For what purpose?" Iris Ying asked curiously, and the Storm God Star Lord also looked at Evan with interest.

Seeing their nervous expressions, Evan smiled. "I have important business here—something I can only handle after entering the Divine Saint Star."

Both Iris and Storm God Star Lord wondered what could be so important that it required entering the Divine Saint Star.

"Is it something you can't share?" Evan said with a smile.

Since Evan wouldn't say more, Iris and the Star Lord had to let it go. Evan then asked, "Do you know where there are any other powerful creatures?"

"We do, but it's very dangerous," Iris replied.

"That's fine. Danger doesn't mean much to me. Just tell me where," Evan said.

After thinking for a moment, Iris said, "Near Battlefield No. 3, close to the creature-dominated planets, there's a nest. We've seen powerful creatures there during missions, but getting close draws out even more. Without backup, we never dared attack."

"I see. Just tell me where it is, I'll go myself," Evan said after considering it.

"But it's really dangerous. I'm worried," Iris said, her concern clear—even with Evan's strength, victory wasn't guaranteed.

"My goal is to hunt that powerful creature. No matter what, I'll go. If you consider me a friend, just tell me," Evan said.

After a moment's thought, Iris sighed, "Alright, if you're set on going, I'll send ten thousand armored soldiers to support you."

Ten thousand armored soldiers—Evan didn't know exactly what that meant for them, but he knew it was a huge show of sincerity. Still, he didn't need them. He smiled, "No need. I'll handle it myself. If you send so many people, I won't be able to move freely."

"Oh," Iris was momentarily stunned.

The Storm God Star Lord thought for a moment, then smiled. "Just do as he says."

"Alright, I'll tell you," Iris said, then gave Evan the detailed route. Just as Evan finished thanking them, a group of people burst in from outside.

The newcomers were noisy, especially their leader, who shouted, "No wonder we couldn't catch this guy—you were all working together!"

The speaker was Commander Lee—the one who had gathered mercenaries to hunt the creature, only for Evan to beat him to it. He'd been searching for Evan ever since, and now, having learned Evan was here, he'd rushed over with several Star Lords to apply pressure.

"Commander Lee, what do you mean barging into my mansion?" the Star Lord said angrily, especially since he'd been speaking with guests when they forced their way in.

"If I didn't come in, how would I know you were colluding with outsiders?" Commander Lee sneered.

"Outsiders? What do you mean by that, Commander Lee? Be clear," Iris retorted coldly.

Commander Lee heard Iris's tone and knew she was angry, but he wasn't intimidated with so many Star Lords behind him. He said, "He's a nobody, with no status, yet he snatched the creature we were hunting. What's his motive? Maybe he's colluding with those creatures, infiltrating us."

"Commander Lee, your reasoning is absurd. All this fuss over a single creature? You're being petty," Iris said angrily.

Commander Lee retorted, "Petty? Say that again!"

The Star Lord spoke up, "Everyone, this is just a misunderstanding. Evan hunted the creature ahead of time—there's nothing improper about it. Why make such a fuss?"

"Nothing improper? Do you know how long we prepared to kill that creature? How many mercenary regiments we invited? And now you say it's fine that he hunted it first?" Commander Lee said angrily.

The Star Lord was about to speak, but Evan cut in, "What are you getting at?"

The room fell silent. Everyone knew Evan's strength, but Commander Lee, backed by a crowd of Star Lords, wasn't afraid. He smiled, "What I mean is, today you must hand over the creature, or you'll be my enemy—and I'll hunt you forever!"

"Hunt me? With what?" Evan flashed forward, appearing right in front of Commander Lee, his hand already on Lee's forehead. If Evan wanted, Lee's life would be over in an instant.

The room fell silent again. Evan's speed was terrifying, and Commander Lee was clearly frightened. If Evan had acted, Lee would be dead already. Still, Lee quickly retreated, saying, "You all saw it—he's unreasonable. I gave him a chance, but he didn't appreciate it. How should we deal with him?"

"He won't listen to us, disrupts human order—he deserves death," said a Star Lord close to Commander Lee.

The other Star Lords chimed in, "Deserves death!"

Evan hadn't expected Lee to be so devious—he almost wanted to kill him on the spot. But doing so would drag Iris and the Star Lord into trouble. If he had to kill Lee, it would have to be in secret.

The Star Lord realized things were getting out of hand and quickly stepped forward, "Everyone, calm down. He's my friend and a guest of the Star Lord's Mansion. He hunted the creature with my permission, so it's within his rights. Must every hunt be reported to all of you?"

Commander Lee hadn't expected the Star Lord to defend Evan, but he persisted, "So he's a guest—but you never told us. Since we didn't know, he still has a crime. Even if he's your guest, you must hand him over, or we'll escalate this to the Divine Saint Star and see how you explain it."

"I have no formal ties to the Star Lord's Mansion—I'm just visiting. You don't need to trouble them. As for your demands, you want my prey? Try and catch me, if you can. And Commander Lee, you'd better always have plenty of Star Lords around you, or one day, if I'm in a bad mood, I might use you to vent." Evan smiled, then flashed away, sending a private apology to the Star Lord and Iris for dragging them into trouble.

Commander Lee shivered at Evan's words. He quickly ordered, "Everyone, pursue him!" Now, his only choices were to kill or seriously injure Evan—otherwise, he'd spend every day worrying about his own life.

After everyone left, Iris remarked, "Brother Evan really is domineering."
