Brother Lin?

Brother Lin?

She called him Brother Lin!

What exactly happened between them?

Yolanda Fang and Lynn Chen turned their heads and saw Melissa Mu standing to the side, nervously watching Evan Lin.

Melissa Mu had planned to call him Master Lin, but remembered Evan Lin's warning not to talk about it outside the village, so she hesitated and called him Brother Lin instead.

That one 'Brother Lin' left Lynn and Yolanda completely stunned—especially the gentle tone Melissa used when she called Evan Lin ‘Brother Lin.’ It was so soft, it made their hearts tremble!

"Alright, just use your car to tow it. Once we get to Whitewood County, we’ll figure something out," Evan Lin said calmly, not affected at all by her way of addressing him.

Melissa Mu obediently stepped aside, picked up her phone, and made a call.

Lynn and Yolanda shifted their gazes from Melissa to Evan Lin, each staring at him like hawks. "What did you do to brainwash her?"

"Brainwash her? No way," Evan Lin shook his head. "I guess I just have good character."

"Good character? You? Yeah right," Lynn glared at him.

"I agree. You’re not a bad guy, but you’re not so great that she’d throw herself at you," Yolanda said suspiciously.

No matter how hard they tried to figure it out, they couldn't see why Melissa Mu would call Evan Lin 'Brother Lin.'

They still remembered their first meeting, when Melissa was surrounded by a squad of bodyguards.

And the way Melissa acted at first—she was totally a rich girl.

But what does Evan Lin have?

He can fight, and somehow won first prize in the Provincial Math Olympiad, but besides that?

With Lynn and Yolanda staring at him like that, Evan Lin just ignored them. He couldn’t be bothered to explain—those two would never believe him anyway.

Uncle Victor stood nearby, watching Lynn and Yolanda with a wry smile. These two girls probably had no idea what kind of person they were talking to. If they knew this guy could summon dragons with a flick of his hand, would they dare talk like that?

Melissa Mu stood a short distance away, glancing over at Lynn and Yolanda from time to time. Hearing them roast Evan Lin without a care while he just ignored them, not even getting mad, Melissa couldn’t help but feel a bit envious.

Not long after, four BMWs rolled up outside.

The doors opened and a group of bodyguards got out, all looking a little worse for wear—they’d just spent ages recovering at the hospital.

Seeing Melissa, they rushed over and crowded around her protectively, shooting unfriendly looks at Evan Lin.

Even though it was the Fire Elder who started the fight, they remembered that the two girls and one guy nearby had been involved with Harvey Xie and the Fire Elder.

"No need to worry. Just tow that car and head back to Whitewood County first."

Melissa could tell her people were still wary of Evan Lin.

But what good was being wary?

Even if all of them attacked together, they probably couldn’t handle even Evan Lin’s pinky finger.

Thinking about this, Melissa couldn’t help but zone out for a moment.

She searched her whole mind, but had never met a guy like this before.

Soon, the bodyguards tied Charles Chen’s car to the back of the lead BMW with a tow rope. After a quick shout, everyone got into their cars.

Evan Lin sat in the front passenger seat, with Uncle Victor driving. In the back, the three girls squeezed together.

Inside the car, the atmosphere was a little weird.

Evan Lin looked totally normal. Yolanda sat in the middle, resting her chin in her hand, staring at Evan Lin’s profile, lost in thought.

On either side of Yolanda, Lynn and Melissa sized each other up, both seeming to wonder what made the other different.

If Yolanda was the spicy, quirky, and bold type, then Lynn and Melissa—both pampered since childhood—were definitely the same kind of high-class girls.

They had plenty of admirers, but to most guys, they were always way out of reach.

Uncle Victor, driving, quietly glanced at Evan Lin in the passenger seat. Through the rearview mirror, he could see the girls’ reactions. Honestly, it was the first time he’d ever seen Melissa act like this, and it was a huge surprise.

"Hey," Yolanda called out.

Evan Lin didn’t even turn his head, too lazy to respond.

"Seriously, what did you guys see in there? When I was outside, I swear I saw a dragon—was that really a dragon? What was it? Did you get a good look?" Yolanda bombarded him with questions.

"You were seeing things," Evan Lin replied bluntly.

Yolanda frowned, wanting to kick Evan Lin’s leg, but realized she couldn’t reach him in the car, which left her frustrated.

She then turned to Melissa, grinning mischievously.

Melissa had been sizing up Lynn, wondering why she could talk to Evan Lin so casually and not get scolded—maybe Evan Lin liked something special about her.

But suddenly, she saw Yolanda’s mischievous smile and was startled.

"He’s being all secretive, so can you tell me what that thing really was?" Yolanda scooted closer to Melissa, pouting and acting cute.

Evan Lin caught this scene in the rearview mirror and felt a headache coming on.

This girl was just not normal—who knew what went on in her head.

Melissa froze for a second at Yolanda’s question, but then remembered Evan Lin’s warning. After a brief hesitation, she answered, "Nothing special, really. It just suddenly rained and got windy, and the wind was so strong it whipped the rain into a mini waterspout. From far away, it might look like a dragon, but it was just an illusion."

Seeing how serious Melissa looked, Yolanda slumped back into her seat, disappointed. "Man, I thought there’d be something cool. What a waste of a trip."

"Alright, alright, all you think about is playing," Lynn rolled her eyes at her.

Hearing Yolanda’s complaint, Uncle Victor and Melissa both sighed inwardly.

It really was a water dragon.

Evan Lin sat there, expressionless, calmly gazing out the window as he gently rubbed the Fire Crystal Stone in his palm.

"The flame inside should be enough for pill refining—at least enough to make beauty pills."

Evan Lin felt completely at peace.

As for the Wanhe Ancient Jade, Evan Lin had already decided how to use it.
