When Kevin Qin spoke, a surge of overwhelming, domineering aura erupted from his entire body.
He'd spent the past two days nonstop stomping that stone pillar, burning through a ton of energy, but none of it dulled his current dominance.
Kevin Qin strode right up to Yvette Ye, his gaze still scanning the surroundings, waiting for this so-called love rival to show himself.
"Where is he?"
His voice dropped, becoming much deeper—far harsher and colder than when he was talking to Yvette before.
"That kid didn't dare show up today. He was on the helicopter with us, but when it came time to parachute at altitude, he chickened out—probably scared of heights, and maybe scared of you too."
Harvey Li grinned, "Kevin, I think once this Mysterious Ruins business is over, you really ought to have a little talk with that kid."
"I saw him and Yvette getting pretty close on the helicopter, you can ask Yvette yourself if you don't believe me."
After Harvey finished speaking, he glanced over at Yvette Ye.
Everyone around now focused their eyes on Yvette Ye.
"Is that true?"
Kevin Qin looked at Yvette Ye, and when he spoke to her, his tone suddenly turned gentle again.
Even so, his gaze remained aggressively intense.
"Yvette, tell me—does that kid have some improper thoughts about you? And are you just too soft-hearted to deal with him?"
From what Kevin Qin knew of Yvette Ye, she tended to be soft-hearted. While she showed clear disgust and rejection toward some of the 'flies' buzzing around her, most of the time she just distanced herself, rarely ever actually taking action to cripple someone for pestering her.
As for the idea that Yvette really liked that kid—in Kevin Qin's mind, that was utterly impossible.
To him, it was pure nonsense.
After all, a woman like Yvette—he, Kevin Qin, hadn't even fully won her over yet. Who in this world could possibly make her truly fall for them?
Kevin Qin genuinely didn't believe there was anyone in the world more suitable for Yvette Ye than himself.
In terms of family background, he was the young master of the Ancient Martial Qin clan, likely to become its future patriarch, and currently one of Moonshade's top three fighters—a monster-level talent, with overwhelming strength.
Kevin Qin also considered himself pretty handsome, and he was genuinely devoted to Yvette Ye. For her, he'd fought on life-and-death arenas more than once, and by now, he'd basically cleared out all her would-be pursuers.
He just hadn't expected that these days, there'd still be some clueless, fearless kid daring to come stir things up.
"I have no reason to deal with him."
Yvette Ye frowned: "Kevin Qin, I've told you so many times—I have my own freedom. And honestly, our relationship is just ordinary friendship."
"How he treats me, or who I'm close with, really isn't your business. I'm begging you, please stop wasting your energy on me, okay?"
By the end, Yvette felt a headache coming on.
She honestly hated dealing with this kind of thing—she much preferred eating potato chips.
Dating was nowhere near as fun as potato chips, in her opinion.
"Yvette, I get what you're saying. It's fine if you don't like me now—I believe you'll definitely like me in the future."
Kevin Qin smiled, not angry at all, then changed the subject: "But in the past, whenever I said I'd deal with the flies around you, you never argued this much. Today, you're saying a lot more than usual."
"Before, you'd just roll your eyes and ignore me, letting me handle things however I wanted. But your attitude today is totally different—it only means one thing."
Kevin Qin paused, then his eyes flashed sharply: "That kid Harvey Li mentioned means something different to you than all those other flies."
"The more you don't want me to interfere, the more I'm going to! Once we're out of here, I'll challenge him to a life-and-death arena. We'll settle it on the platform!"
Yvette Ye's expression changed dramatically when she heard Kevin Qin's words.
Yvette knew Kevin Qin's strength was terrifying, and she also knew Lin Yi's was just as formidable.
In her heart, Yvette suspected Lin Yi might actually be even stronger than Kevin Qin.
But Kevin Qin was the strongest candidate for future patriarch of the Ancient Martial Qin clan—who knows how many suicidal killer moves his clan has prepared for him?
If Kevin Qin really fought Lin Yi, it would definitely end in mutual serious injury—a lose-lose situation!
"Are you done making a scene yet?"
Yvette Ye's face was already grim: "I won't allow you to go make trouble for him."
"He just joined Moonshade, and was fast-tracked in! Kevin Qin, you're always talking about life-and-death arenas—do you have to blow things up to feel satisfied?"
Yvette Ye really didn't know how to reason with this guy anymore.
Kevin Qin was reasonable about most things, but when it came to Yvette, he was stubborn as a mule.
"How is that unreasonable? I'm just trying to remind him—some people are better forgotten before you get ideas about them."
Kevin Qin sneered, "If he doesn't accept my challenge, that means he's a coward—a loser."
"A man like that doesn't deserve you at all!"
Kevin Qin spoke with absolute conviction, and the aura around him kept growing stronger.
Standing in front of him, Yvette Ye took a deep breath, constantly thinking about how to resolve this mess.
Should she just drop the Azure Dragon bomb?
If Kevin Qin found out Lin Yi was personally named and fast-tracked into Moonshade by Azure Dragon, he'd definitely back off.
Azure Dragon was one of the Four Hidden Dragon Saints.
If Azure Dragon wanted to protect someone, not even Kevin Qin—or the entire Ancient Martial Qin clan—would dare say a word against it.
"Yvette, you don't need to be so nervous. Brother Qin is just looking out for you."
Jiang He, who hadn't spoken until now, finally piped up with a cheerful tone and twinkling eyes: "Besides, Brother Qin's got a point—if that kid doesn't even dare fight a life-and-death arena, how can he say he likes you?"
"He doesn't deserve to be with you at all!"
"If you ask me, that kid can't even compare to Brother Qin in any way!"
Jiang He's words drew a chorus of agreement from the other Moonshade members nearby.
They watched with smiles, all seeing Yvette and Kevin Qin argue so fiercely for the first time.
Was that kid really so close to Yvette Ye?
That thought echoed in many people's hearts, making them pause and feel a surge of anticipation.
They were eager to see Kevin Qin and that kid meet, and just as curious—what kind of guy could win Yvette Ye's attention like this?
