Luna and Yvonne Xuan

The silver sword flashed by in a blur, quickly catching up to the fleeing Aiden Ying. A blood-curdling scream echoed through the sky, and a rain of blood scattered down, painting a terrifying scene.

Evan Chu knew exactly how powerful Sword Spirit Luna was. The moment he saw her fly out from his brow, he knew Aiden Ying was doomed—there was no way he’d survive.

He just hadn’t expected the death to be so brutal—Aiden was wiped out without even a trace left behind.

Right after Sword Spirit Luna killed Aiden, a surge of black mist erupted from his body, wrapping tightly around the silver sword Luna had transformed into. Evan Chu couldn’t see what was happening inside at all.

The sudden appearance of the black mist made Evan’s heart jolt. He remembered Luna’s warning: something terrifying was hiding inside Aiden, and if it ever matured, the whole Heavenly Dragon Empire would be doomed.

He hadn’t expected it to be this black mist. At first glance it looked like demonic qi, and even though Evan was some distance away, he could clearly sense a primordial, ancient aura within it.

He wanted to help, but there was nothing he could do. With his current strength, he probably couldn’t help Luna at all.

“Boss, that black mist has a terrifying pressure. Even hiding inside your body, I feel like I’m about to be torn apart,” Goldwing said at that moment.

“I don’t feel any pressure, just that this black mist looks a lot like demonic qi. Could it be some demon king’s possession?” Evan blurted out in surprise. It really seemed possible.

“Boss, that’s not demonic qi—it’s a remnant soul of some ancient ferocious beast. That’s why I feel such overwhelming pressure. This kind of beast must have reached the divine rank,” Goldwing said, his voice trembling slightly.

"An ancient divine beast? No way! If that's real, it's just insane. Why would something like that be inside Aiden Ying? Even if his talent's decent, there's no way he'd end up hosting the remnant soul of an ancient divine beast." Evan Chu muttered, staring up at the sky, voice full of disbelief and drama.

Right now, the tiny silver sword zipped through the air, slicing the huge black mist into several clumps, forcing them apart again and again.

"Why do you insist on killing me? If you let me go today, I swear I'll repay you in the future!" The ancient voice of the black mist echoed from above, desperate and eerie.

"Save the sweet talk. This young lady isn't buying it. The crimes you committed back then deserved total annihilation—body and soul. Who would've thought you'd leave behind a remnant soul? This time, don't even think about escaping." Luna's scornful voice rang out, sharp as a blade.

Goldwing was totally thrown for a loop. First the black mist could talk, now the silver sword was speaking too—and calling itself 'this young lady'? It was blowing his mind.

After a long pause, Goldwing finally blurted out, "Boss, that silver sword came out of your body, right? What the heck is it, and why can it talk?"

Evan honestly had no clue how to explain. He didn't know Luna's real identity either—just that she was some kind of ancient relic, maybe even a peerless powerhouse from way back.

"She's my fairy big sis. She exists just to protect me, obviously. You know how special your boss is, right? Gotta have someone watching my back." Evan said with a grin, not sure Goldwing would buy it.

"Fairy big sis? That's a cool name! Boss, you've got way too many secrets." Goldwing said, leaving Evan speechless.

Even though Luna kept slicing up the black mist, it just kept merging back together, like it couldn't be killed—no matter what, it always reformed.

Luna was totally aware of her enemy's state. Suddenly, the tiny silver sword burst with dazzling light, and her hazy, girlish figure appeared in midair.

When the black mist saw the girl's form, it snarled, "Don't push me! Right now, you're just a soul body, same as me. You think you're still so high and mighty—"

The black mist didn't even finish its threat before Luna cut it off. "You got lucky escaping with a remnant soul back then, but now you've run into me, and you know my rules. Even as a soul body, destroying your little remnant is a piece of cake. Prepare to die!"

As Luna finished, the silver sword in her hand blazed brighter, then shot from her grip and split into ten, forming a deadly formation around the black mist.

A world-destroying pressure exploded in the air. Even with Evan's tough defenses, he was crushed flat to the ground, unable to move an inch.

The pressure was way worse than the Gravity Chamber—Evan could barely breathe, like his whole body was about to collapse.

"Tenfold Immortal-Execution Slash!" Luna intoned, her voice slow and chilling. The whole sky trembled, wild winds roared, sand and rocks whipped through the air in a terrifying storm.

The ten silver swords instantly grew into massive greatswords, each several meters long, sword-light blazing as they all struck at the black mist at once.

"Xuanyuan Yueyan, may you die a horrible death!" the black mist shrieked its final curse, then was swallowed by the storm of sword shadows, vanishing without a trace.

The crushing pressure faded away. Evan slowly climbed up from the ground, looking totally battered, his forehead drenched in sweat—he couldn't tell if it was from pain or sheer nerves.

Up in the sky, Luna's soul body grew more and more transparent, until only the tiny silver sword remained, circling once before streaking straight into Evan's brow and vanishing.

Evan clearly heard the black mist's last words, calling Luna 'Xuanyuan Yueyan.' Something clicked in his mind, but he couldn't quite piece it all together.

"Yue'er, Yueyan? Could big sis Yue'er really be Xuanyuan Yueyan? She has a real name—she's not just some so-called Sword Spirit!" Evan suddenly realized, blurting it out in shock.

He'd barely finished speaking when stabbing pain exploded in his mind. "Is the name really that nice? You dare guess my identity, huh? Getting bold, aren't you?" Luna's voice echoed, weak but teasing.

Evan was even more convinced he was right. Luna hadn't admitted it straight up, but she'd basically confirmed it.

"Nice? I've never heard a name that sounds so good. You're so stingy, big sis Yue'er—just calling your name once and you torture me." Evan put on his most aggrieved face, whining like a kid.

"Enough with the jokes, Evan. I know your personality better than anyone—does that kind of probing ever work? When you awaken your bloodline, I'll tell you some things. Now's not the time—just thinking about it would only stress you out." Luna said, half helpless, half amused.

"Fine, I won't ask. But what kind of beast was that black mist's remnant soul? Why was it so strong?" Evan pressed, curiosity burning.

"Not asking, but still asking? Whatever, I'll tell you. It was the remnant soul of an ancient Black Flood Dragon. If it hadn't been so weak, I couldn't have killed it." Luna replied, matter-of-fact.

"Black Flood Dragon? Is it really that strong? What realm was it at?" Evan asked, eyes wide.

"It was at least sixth-layer Saint Martial Realm. And that was just mid-tier for its kind. Imagine what the top ones are like—your current realm can't even compare." Luna explained, voice full of warning.

Evan fell silent. Luna's words hit him hard—sixth-layer Saint Martial was only mid-tier? He couldn't even imagine how strong the true top experts were...
