Can You Escape

12/19/2025

Joe Di approached the man and woman, stowed away his spaceship, and politely cupped his fists, asking, "Greetings, fellow Daoists. May I ask where this is? How far is the nearest Divine City?"

Joe Di hoped he could trade for a Direction Stone.

"Third Step cultivator?" The man saw Joe Di's cultivation and his eyes lit up. They had assumed Joe Di was a powerful senior, but he turned out to be only a Third Step cultivator. Even that was not complete—he was at best mid-stage Third Step.

The woman also sensed that Joe Di's strength was not greater than hers. She was equally puzzled—why would someone with such low cultivation dare to fly in a spaceship and cultivate with Dao veins at the same time?

"Yue'er, take it out." The man, now without any reservations, spoke directly to the female cultivator.

The woman did not respond. She raised her hand and grabbed a pale golden magical artifact, which unfolded into a giant net.

Joe Di immediately sensed that the space around him was enveloped by the giant net. Even if he used Lawstride, he would only end up inside the net.

The giant net only restricted the space, not shrinking further, but it suppressed Joe Di's domain aura.

Joe Di's expression turned cold. "What do you mean by this?"

The man smiled faintly. "It's nothing. Since you're not a Saint, and haven't even established a Saint's Oath, you dare to act arrogant before us?"

Joe Di frowned slightly. Establish a Saint's Oath? What does that mean?

"But my wife and I are not bloodthirsty people. If you open your world and your Dao Vein is sufficient, we might let you go just this once. Of course, if your Dao Vein is depleted, then forget what I said."

Joe Di sneered inwardly. So they wanted to rob him of his Dao Vein. It must be because earlier, when he was cultivating madly on the spaceship using Dao Veins, the aura had been detected by these two.

Still, Joe Di did not say much. He was quite puzzled—this place's laws were extremely complete, and not under the control of a single Saint. In other words, here, every cultivator could find their own Dao path.

If that's the case, then Cosmic Dao Veins shouldn't be so rare, right? Even places like the Genesis Nest could provide Cosmic Dao Veins at any time, so obtaining them here should be even easier. Why, then, did these two act as if they've never seen Dao Veins before, so desperate for them?

"You must be quite strong. I suppose opening my world wouldn't be much trouble. But before that, I have a question. Cosmic Dao Veins aren't supposed to be rare—why do you two insist on having mine?" Joe Di was genuinely puzzled.

Cosmic Dao Veins aren't supposed to be rare?

Hearing Joe Di's words, both their eyes flashed with fanaticism. The man, without hesitation, summoned a long spear, sending billions of spear shadows sweeping toward Joe Di.

The woman's giant net Dao rhythm surged, enveloping Joe Di at the fastest speed.

Joe Di instantly knew that this guy wanted to capture him alive. Apparently, they thought he knew where to find a large amount of Cosmic Dao Veins, which was why they had the idea to take him alive.

Since they wanted to make a move, Joe Di was more than willing to oblige.

Before Joe Di could summon his Heaven Sieve Blade, the woman's giant net had already shrunk rapidly, confining his space to a mere ten feet in diameter.

Joe Di was also a master craftsman capable of refining supreme artifacts. He knew very well that this giant net was waiting for him to try and escape. If he rushed out, the net's Dao laws would instantly bind the space he tried to flee into.

Within the space of this giant net, any divine powers or laws would be suppressed. In other words, once the net enveloped Joe Di's space, he was almost caught.

Of course, that was only the woman's assumption.

For Joe Di, no matter how high the grade of this net, it couldn't compare to the rules of the Kui River Universe, let alone to a Genesis treasure. Not even the cosmic laws of the Kui River Universe could bind him, and he had already seized several Genesis treasures. So how could a net crafted by someone else possibly restrain him?

Although Joe Di was absolutely confident that Lawstride could easily break out of this net—for under the rules of his own Dao, the net simply couldn't restrain his powers—

Joe Di chose not to do so. He still didn't know how strong the cultivators of this region at the Genesis Realm truly were. If the man's strength was not inferior to his, he might be forced back the moment he reached the edge of the net.

If that happened, he might really get caught by the net.

Before the net could further constrict the space, Joe Di had already summoned his Time Arrow. In the same instant, a shaft of light shot forth.

Ever since Joe Di mastered his Dao, he had rarely used divine powers. The Time Arrow, too, had not been used for a long time.

Now, as Joe Di unleashed the Time Arrow, and the Dao rhythm of laws locked onto the arrow, he immediately sensed something different—a subtle mastery over the changes in time, and even the nuances of space.

The net continued to constrict the space, but every fluctuation of it was within his awareness and control.

Joe Di sighed inwardly. Using the Time Arrow against this woman was really giving her too much credit.

Seeing Joe Di actually draw a bow and shoot at her, the female cultivator shook her head speechlessly. Her giant net was a true Dao treasure; even a strong cultivator who had established a Saint's Oath couldn't unleash their powers within her net. All divine powers and Dao laws would be bound and then dissolved by the net.

The male cultivator watched Joe Di's actions with even greater ridicule. The billions of spear shadows he had conjured had already touched the net. It was clear that as the net bound Joe Di, those spear shadows would also tear him to pieces.

Joe Di even closed his eyes. He vaguely felt that these two were much weaker than he'd expected. The man was not even as strong as Saint Byron...

No, the man wasn't just weaker than Saint Byron—he was far inferior. As for the woman, well, she was even more pathetic.

Time's Loom weaves the fate between life and death; where the arrow lands, time shatters the heavens!

The arrow had already been loosed, and Joe Di couldn't be bothered to recall it.

When the shaft of time pierced through the giant net, the woman was stunned. She murmured, "He got out... He got out..."

Perhaps she never imagined that anyone could shoot an arrow from within her Dao treasure. By the time she realized it, she felt an icy chill envelop her—a suffocating aura of death. She had no chance to resist.

"Chengshan, save me..." The woman called out with all her remaining strength.

At that moment, Joe Di struck out with another fist!

Boom! The Dao laws of this punch collided with the man's billions of spear shadows. All divine powers and Dao laws shattered, sending the giant net rippling like a wave.

"You can't kill her—that's Luna, of the Grand Yin Divine Court..." The man's words trailed off as he stared blankly at Luna. The arrow had already pierced through her body, and she exploded into a mist of blood, her soul utterly annihilated.

Run! The man now realized Joe Di's strength was far beyond what he'd shown—he was vastly superior to them. Even knowing Luna was dead and he couldn't escape his own fate, he still tried to flee while he could.

With Luna slain, the giant net instantly lost its soul and collapsed.

With a flick of his hand, Joe Di collected the net, then immediately chased after the fleeing man. He didn't bother with Luna's cosmic world—he had no time to spare, and he absolutely would not let the male cultivator escape.

Feeling his escape technique activate, and having fled for several breaths, the man relaxed a little. As long as his technique was triggered, even someone twice as strong as him couldn't catch him easily. Every extra breath meant a greater chance of survival. If he could last ten breaths, he'd be safe.

"Do you really think you can get away?" A calm voice sounded. The man's Dao rhythm faltered mid-flight, and in the next moment, he saw Joe Di standing before him.
