Taking Care of Things

"Evan Lin!"

As soon as Queenie Tong spoke, everyone nearby turned to look over.

Originally, the backstage sofa area was separated from the main entrance by a screen. From that angle, unless you looked closely, it was hard to notice anyone sitting here.

At this moment, when Lynn Chen saw Evan Lin sitting there drinking tea, her expression froze. She suddenly remembered that Evan had been brought in early by that girl.

"Master? What master?"

When Rory "Hammer" Luo heard Queenie Tong's voice, his face darkened. His first glance was at Queenie, and when he saw her face, his eyes lit up.

He’d rushed in so fast just now that he hadn’t noticed Queenie Tong on this side. Now, taking a good look, he was instantly delighted.

"Well, well, another beauty, huh? She looks a bit like Serena Tong. Why not send them both? If Second Brother Su’s happy, we can talk price!"

Rory Luo burst out laughing.

Hearing this, Queenie Tong's face changed, full of anger, but then she looked pitifully in Evan Lin's direction.

"Master..."

Her voice was soft and trembling, almost on the verge of tears, sounding like she was begging.

This scene left Lynn Chen feeling conflicted, Wendy Wen rolling her eyes, and Eric Yu clenching his fists with pain on his face. Liz Ji, who knew Queenie best, was especially shocked.

She just couldn't understand what was so special about this boy that could make the usually fearless Queenie Tong act so humble.

Evan Lin blew away a tea leaf floating on his tea, not even glancing at Rory Luo and the others, and said blandly, "You can take her away."

"Master!"

The moment Evan Lin said that, Queenie Tong's face went pale.

Lynn Chen and the others were stunned on the spot.

Liz Ji felt a chill in her heart and frowned deeply.

"So you're scared too, huh? Coward." Mason He, standing nearby, actually felt a bit relieved.

Even though he was in agony, having been hit in the groin and nearly losing his mind from the pain, hearing that even Evan Lin couldn't handle this situation actually gave Mason He a rare sense of balance.

"I'm definitely taking her. Kid, go crawl back to wherever you came from. How dare you drink tea in front of me? You think you can act tough here?" Rory Luo snorted coldly and signaled to the two men beside him.

The two men understood and immediately walked over to Queenie Tong, reaching out to grab her.

Liz Ji stood there, anxious and at a loss for who to turn to for help.

The two men strode forward, and just as they were about to grab Queenie Tong, Evan Lin finished his tea and set his cup lightly on the table.

Bang.

The teacup touched the table, making a soft sound.

Boom!

As the sound rang out, both burly men groaned, their faces turning as pale as paper. In that instant, it felt like someone had punched them hard in the gut.

One of them couldn't help but cough up blood.

Bang, bang.

Two more thuds in quick succession.

In everyone's eyes, the two burly men who were so aggressive just a second ago suddenly dropped to their knees in front of the tea table, clutching their stomachs and bowing their heads to the floor, as if kowtowing.

"Get up! What the hell are you doing?"

Seeing this, Rory Luo's cold sneer froze, anger rising as he cursed at the two men.

Still clutching his groin in pain, Mason He was close to one of the kneeling men. He tried to move away, but just then, the kneeling man toppled sideways right onto him.

The man's rear landed squarely on Mason He's face, smothering him completely.

Mason He couldn't breathe, and just then, the man—whose gut had just taken a heavy blow—let out a fart from the shock, instantly knocking Mason out with the stench.

Lynn Chen shivered inside, Wendy Wen was still confused, and Eric Yu, his face still marked from a slap, kept his fist clenched but was clearly terrified.

Liz Ji was frozen in place, while Queenie Tong, suddenly realizing what had happened, bent over in a panic toward Evan Lin. "Thank you! Thank you, Master! Thank you for helping!"

She kept thanking him over and over, terrified that any lack of respect might make Evan Lin dislike her.

Evan Lin didn't even spare her a glance.

"Who the hell are you, kid? Looks like you won't be walking out of here in one piece today!" Rory Luo clenched his fists, glanced around, grabbed a nearby chair, and charged forward, kicking off the ground and swinging the chair at Evan Lin's head.

"Screw you!"

Rory Luo roared in anger.

Evan Lin extended his left hand, lightly flicked his finger, and tapped the chair as Rory swung it down.

A thunderous crash echoed through the room.

Rory Luo's whole body was sent flying, smashing into the ceiling and getting half-embedded up there, unable to come down right away.

With just one finger, he sent a man flying!

Even though Lynn Chen had seen Evan Lin fight before, she'd never witnessed anything this unbelievable.

Wendy Wen's mouth formed an O of shock, unable to process what she'd just seen.

Rory Luo howled in pain but was still conscious. He was chilled to the bone, not even sure how he'd ended up there.

"Letting you take her is no problem, but only if your boss comes to ask me himself."

Evan Lin lightly tapped the table with his right finger.

Rory Luo instantly fell out of the ceiling, crashing face-first to the ground and bleeding all over.

"Just you wait! You're dead! Do you even know who Brother Su is? You're finished!"

Rory Luo clutched his bleeding mouth with one hand, pulled out his phone with the other, and quickly dialed a number.

"And you guys, why aren't you gone yet?" Evan Lin glanced at Eric Yu and sneered.

"Let's go!"

Eric Yu looked grim, but at Evan's words, he seized the chance, flung open the door, and slipped out.

Wendy Wen grabbed Lynn Chen's wrist and ran out too.

The rest of them were a beat slow, but survival instinct kicked in and they hurried out, faces pale with fear.

As she ran, Lynn Chen couldn't help but glance back at Evan Lin, still seated.

But Evan Lin's gaze never once landed on her.

All this time, Eric Yu had seemed perfect to Lynn Chen—handsome, wealthy, a celebrity with a bright future, righteous and sunny.

But now, with Evan Lin here, Lynn Chen was once again reminded of the vast, incomparable gap between Eric Yu and Evan Lin.

Once everyone was gone, the room became much quieter.

Queenie Tong obediently poured tea for Evan Lin, while Eric Yu, now outside, dialed a number and wailed, "Brother Su! I've been beaten up! Someone's targeting you! You have to stand up for me!"
