Four Eccentrics

At this moment, Evan Yang turned back, still feeling that the old man was strange. So with a flash, he intended to sneak back and find the old man. But upon returning to the city, he found everyone was searching for him. Helpless, he could only use his divine sense to search for the old man's whereabouts, but found no one at the spot where the old man had been.

"Kid, are you looking for me?" Suddenly a voice came from behind Evan Yang. Standing in midair, Evan was shocked and turned around, only to see the old man smiling at him.

"You! How did you know I was looking for you?" Evan exclaimed in surprise.

"If I said I have predictive abilities, would you believe me?" The old man looked at Evan with a smile.

Predictive abilities? Evan would never believe that. He shook his head and said, "I don't believe it."

"You don't believe it, huh? Fine, then—aren't you here to ask me where to find Fiend Star Sources?" The old man looked at Evan with a broad smile.

"You! You even know what I'm thinking?" Evan said in shock.

"Not only can I predict, I also have mind-reading abilities." The old man smiled again.

"You..." To confirm, Evan secretly cursed the old man in his heart.

"Cursing people isn't right, you know." The old man smiled broadly.

"I give up—you win. Don't look anymore, I really came to find you." Evan was startled by the old man, no longer daring to treat him as an ordinary person.

"There are three ways. One, dig for them yourself, but that process is slow—sometimes you might not find one in hundreds of years. Two, buy them, which is faster, but pricey: each one costs over a million high-grade Spirit Crystal Ore. Three, rob someone—unless you know who has them, you can't really act." The old man answered with a smile.

"You're not charging me anymore?" Evan was puzzled when the old man didn't ask for payment.

"We're not in the Hundred-Wisdom Pavilion, so I'll answer for free." The old man smiled.

"Uh, so where can I buy them?" Evan knew the other two methods weren't realistic; buying was more practical.

"I've already answered for free, but I can't always do it for nothing." The old man smiled at Evan.

Hearing this, Evan gloomily took out ten thousand high-grade Spirit Crystal Ore. "Here."

The old man shook his head.

"You don't want it?" Evan was confused by the old man's attitude.

"Taking Spirit Crystal Ore is the rule of the Hundred-Wisdom Pavilion. Outside, I do things my own way. So if you want to know, just follow me." The old man smiled.

"There are rules like that?" Hearing this, Evan felt annoyed, but in the end could only follow the old man.

Evan could easily ask someone else, but he followed the old man out of curiosity about his ability to see through people's thoughts. He wanted to see where the old man would take him.

The old man led Evan as they flew, soon arriving at a mountain suspended in midair.

It was enormous, its base rivaling a city, and the peak was high. Three colors—red, blue, and black—stood out beautifully on it.

"Senior, what is this place?" As Evan flew side by side with the old man, he felt he was mysterious and relaxed, as if he wasn't flying but walking. So Evan addressed him as 'senior.'

"It's a mountain," the old man replied with a smile.

"I know it's a mountain," Evan said, feeling annoyed.

"Close your eyes," the old man said to Evan with a smile.

Evan looked at the old man strangely. Seeing his constant smile, Evan replied, "Fine," and closed his eyes.

When Evan opened his eyes again, he was already on the mountain peak—a paradise with stone houses, streams, small trees, fruit trees, and spirit monkeys jumping around.

At the same time, at a stone table, three people sat, each with a cup in front of them.

The three looked quite different: one had a long beard, one was hunched over, and one was thin as a skeleton.

"You're all here!" The old man smiled at the three, while Evan watched them curiously.

The three looked at the old man, then at Evan. The hunchback said, "Mad Grin, why did you bring a kid here?"

"Of course, I want you to take a look at him." The old man replied with a smile.

"Look at what?" asked the hunchback, confused.

The old man pulled Evan to the table and smiled at the three. "Take a look at what he'll become in the future."

"Mad Grin, what's wrong with you? Didn't we agree not to tell outsiders about our predictive abilities?" The hunchback was immediately displeased.

The other two also showed reproach, but Evan could tell from their expressions that all four had predictive abilities. It was amazing—he never expected people like this to exist, able to foresee others' futures.

If that were true, anyone could avoid danger by knowing when it would come.

The old man looked at the three. "Don't get so worked up—just take a look first," he said with a smile.

The three, unsure what Mad Grin was up to, exchanged glances. In the end, they curiously sized up Evan. At first they were displeased, then curious, then finally shocked as they looked at him.

All three stared at Evan, making him feel as if they could see right through him.

"Too strange!" the hunchback muttered.

"You can't see clearly either, can you?" Mad Grin chuckled.

"It's weird—even if he's from the Human World, we should be able to guess seventy or eighty percent. But I can't even see one-tenth," the hunchback muttered.

The other two felt the same, shocked that they couldn't see through Evan.

"So, what do you three think?" Mad Grin asked with a smile.

"Can't see through him," all three replied in unison.

"That means I didn't break the rules—if you can't see through him, it's as if I never looked into anyone's fate." Mad Grin chuckled.

"That's true. But why did you bring him here? Just so all three of us could confirm we can't see through him?" the hunchback muttered.

"Yeah, that's pretty much it. Well, I'll be going now—I'll chat with you next time." Mad Grin smiled at the three, then left with Evan, who had no idea what was happening.

"What's he up to now?" The hunchback complained after Mad Grin and Evan left.

"No idea, but that kid is strange. Before, we could guess seventy or eighty percent about people, but this time it's all a blur." the long-bearded elder muttered.

The skinny elder spoke up, "Maybe he'll be someone remarkable in the future."

"That's true. There are only a few people we can't see through, but every one of them causes big waves in the Human World and Fiend Realm. Who knows what this kid will become." The hunchback nodded.

"Looks like it's been years since we've met someone we couldn't see through. What could it mean?" the long-bearded elder pondered.

"Who cares. Mad Grin is probably keeping an eye on him, wanting to see what happens along the way," the skinny elder said, seeming to know Mad Grin well.

"That guy's gotten used to wandering the Fiend Realm—he's got no rules, just like a little old man." The hunchback complained.

"Forget it, let him be," the skinny elder replied.

"Yeah, let him be. It's not his first time, as long as he doesn't cause any big trouble, it's fine," the long-bearded elder agreed.

The hunchback could only sigh and the three continued chatting.

As for Evan, he had no idea what they were talking about—by now, he was back at the foot of the mountain.

"Senior, who are those three?" Evan asked curiously.

"Just three friends, don't mind them," the old man replied with a smile.

"So now you can tell me, right?" Evan glanced at the mountain behind him, unable to see through it with his divine sense—as if it were far away. He could only turn back and ask the old man.

"Yes, since you've done what I asked, of course I'll tell you. Come on, maybe we'll get quite a few." The old man smiled.

Hearing the old man was coming along, Evan happily followed.

After flying for about half a day, the two arrived at a giant floating city. As soon as they entered, it was bustling with activity.

The old man led Evan through several twists and turns, finally arriving at a tall building.

Above the entrance hung a sign with three large characters: Hidden Heaven Emporium.

"They have everything inside, as long as you can afford the Spirit Crystal Ore," the old man said to Evan with a smile.

Evan glanced at the sign and nodded. Just as he turned to ask the old man what this place was, the old man vanished.

"Seriously, if you're going to leave, at least say something. I really don't know what kind of person you are." Seeing the old man disappear without a sound, even though he was standing right next to him, Evan was shocked.

The old man's sudden disappearance startled Evan even more, making him certain the man was someone extraordinary. But since he was gone, Evan had no choice but to go in alone.

As soon as he entered, a shop attendant approached. "What can I help you with, fellow Daoist?"

"I'm looking for Fiend Star Sources. Do you have any here?" Evan asked.

The attendant looked at Evan's attire and smiled. "Of course we do. At Hidden Heaven Emporium, how could we not? But the price is a bit high."

"How much?" Evan asked, curious.

"That depends on the size," the attendant replied.

"They come in different sizes?" Evan asked suspiciously.

"Yes. Didn't you know?" the attendant asked, equally puzzled.

"No, I've only seen one kind—never any others," Evan replied awkwardly.

"Oh, then follow me. We have several types here. Once you decide which you want, I'll give you a quote." The attendant nodded, understanding Evan's explanation.

So, led by the attendant, Evan walked up to the third floor, where he saw other customers buying different things.

Then the attendant guided Evan to a dark corner.

"Why is it so dark here?" Evan wondered, seeing that this area was the darkest part of the third floor—he could only make out vague shapes, not clear details.

"Fiend Star Sources like dark places. If it's too bright, it could kill them," the attendant explained.

Hearing this, Evan nodded in understanding. Then, under the attendant's guidance, several cabinets appeared before him, each covered by something transparent like glass.
