No Service Without Membership

Su Li looked at the richly dressed man in front of her. Seeing he was unfamiliar, she knew it must be his first time at Shili Slope.

Since it was his first time here, he wouldn't be a member of the Qingya Vegetarian Bistro.

"Young sir, may I ask if you are a member of our Qingya Vegetarian Bistro? If not, I'm sorry, we do not serve non-members. Please consider dining elsewhere," Su Li said, making a gesture to see him off.

At this moment, Prince Ling, still basking in the disbelief that he had bowed to a woman twice in his life, was completely stunned upon hearing this spicy beauty’s blunt dismissal. He thought he must have misheard.

He had agreed not to cut the line, even agreed to queue up, so why was she so ungrateful and dismissive instead of seeing him as a refined gentleman?

Thus, Prince Ling lost his composure for the first time in his life. Standing there, he felt countless eyes in the vegetarian bistro fixed on him, watching the unruly line-cutter being mercilessly shown the door.

His attendants, seeing their master insulted, were ready to rush forward and chop down this unseeing woman.

Su Li noticed the young man's sour expression and softened her tone, explaining, "Young sir, please don't misunderstand. I am not targeting you with this dismissal. It's just that our Qingya Vegetarian Bistro has rules; we only serve members. If you really want to dine here, you must be invited by a member. I apologize, but without this rule, our bistro's threshold would be trampled flat."

Su Li pointed to the queue outside, which had grown considerably even in a short time.

As the saying goes, after a slap, give a sweet date; the sweetness lingers in the mouth all the more.

Prince Ling was no different—after two rebukes and one dismissal, which made him feel like he had fallen into an abyss, the timely patient explanation rescued him, lifting his heart from the depths.

In those few short sentences, who knew how many emotional ups and downs Prince Ling's lofty heart endured.

Behind Su Li, Lingdang appeared to stand casually, but was fully alert.

Though Prince Ling was not the kind of rogue prince who disregarded royal law and human life, he was after all the emperor's son. That innate arrogance was in his bones. If Su Li angered him with a few words, Lingdang would have to protect her master at all costs.

Lingdang's eyes were fixed tightly on Prince Ling, but Prince Ling's eyes were fixed tightly on Su Li.

This was the woman who had blocked him, embarrassed him, yet also rescued him.

After a moment, Prince Ling took a deep breath. The flirtatious glint in his eyes flooded like spring water. He blinked his narrow eyes and smiled at Su Li, "I see, I am new here and did not know the rules. Truly, my apologies."

"No worries, no worries," Su Li saw that this wealthy young master was quite reasonable, so she dropped her stern face and put on a gentle, profitable smile, sweetly smiling at Prince Ling, "Young sir, the guests are still waiting for me to cook and serve dishes, so please feel free. I must get back to work now."

With that, Su Li bowed to Prince Ling and hurriedly left without looking back.

Prince Ling stood still, watching that charming figure. Seeing Su Li walk away in such a hurry, without even a glance back, he thought she was nothing like the noble ladies he met in the capital who would play coy and look back repeatedly, reluctant to leave.

Prince Ling watched Su Li’s figure disappear into the kitchen, a playful smile unconsciously appearing at the corner of his mouth: This little spicy pepper really left decisively. Does she really have no interest in me at all?
