Slaying the Skyfiend Tiger II

1/19/2026

Evan Chu arrived right as Tyrian the Skyfiend Tiger and Goldwing were locked in a life-and-death clash. When he saw Tyrian suddenly sprout a pair of stubby, meaty wings and shoot into the sky, Evan was dumbfounded, speechless for a long moment.

"That counts as flying? Seriously?! You two are having a death match up there, and what am I supposed to do—just stand here and watch? How the hell is a guy like me supposed to attack from the ground!"

Evan was shaken to his core. So this so-called Skyfiend could really fly with those tiny wings? Unbelievable—if he hadn’t seen it himself, he’d think someone was making it up.

The battle in the air between these two monster beasts was a total eye-opener for Evan. Every time Goldwing flapped his wings, hundreds—no, thousands—of golden Feather-Arrows blasted toward Tyrian.

The power behind those arrows was on a whole other level—compared to when he wiped out those Sea Dragon Academy elites, this was ten, a hundred, a thousand times stronger! Even standing far below, Evan could feel the energy waves pulsing from each Feather-Arrow.

Tyrian’s long tiger tail swept back and forth like a whip, blocking most of the golden arrows. The few that struck his body rang out with sharp, metallic clangs, sparks flying—his flesh was like solid iron, an impenetrable wall.

Goldwing’s attacks were relentless, but Tyrian wasn’t some punching bag. After blocking Goldwing’s barrage, Tyrian’s massive tiger claws slashed out, aiming straight for Goldwing’s body. The speed was terrifying—Evan felt his heart skip a beat.

If Evan’s Shifting Position was fast, then Tyrian’s speed right now was at least twice that—those stubby wings beating furiously, sending showers of golden feathers raining from Goldwing’s body.

Goldwing’s defense was obviously weaker than Tyrian’s, but he was no coward. His enormous talons grabbed at Tyrian’s beast body, trying to rip him apart right then and there.

Both monster beasts fought like madmen, as if they feared neither death nor pain—head-on, tooth and claw, blood and fury! For a moment, the sky itself rained blood; tiger fur and golden feathers fell in torrents, painting the battlefield in chaos.

The intensity of their fight made the entire sky tremble, space itself seemed ready to tear apart! Energy storms exploded everywhere—compared to Evan’s Tempest Shroud, it was like a trickle versus a raging flood, a tiny creek against a mighty river.

Tyrian’s earth-shaking roars and Goldwing’s piercing cries echoed between heaven and earth, stabbing straight into Evan’s ears and mind. It felt like his eardrums were about to burst, his head spinning from the shock.

"This isn’t going to work. Goldwing already burned up way too much starforce opening the barrier—if he keeps fighting like this, he could end up seriously wounded! I have to help him, I have to find a way to drag Tyrian down to the ground and kill him there!" Evan clenched his fists, heart burning with resolve.

He couldn’t fly, so his only weapon was Heart Sword. But could Heart Sword even scratch Tyrian? That monster’s defense was insane—just look at Goldwing’s Feather-Arrows, sparking off his hide like steel plates!

"Evan, Heart Sword might not pierce Tyrian’s armor, but you can aim for his weak points—throat, eyes, anywhere vulnerable! Even if you can’t hurt him, you’ll distract him and give Goldwing a chance to land a heavy blow!" Luna’s voice rang out in his mind, cool and sharp.

Evan snapped out of his daze and grinned, "Luna, you’re always a lifesaver! Every time you show up, it’s like rain in a drought—I swear, I love you to death!"

"Heh, did you forget something? You actually dared to sneak a look at me—was it worth it? Next time you try, I’ll dig your eyeballs out myself!" Luna’s tone was icy, full of threat.

Evan shivered. Luna was gorgeous, sure—but the price was way too steep. From now on, he’d have to be extra careful. If he wanted to sneak a peek, he’d have to do it on the sly.

"I won’t do it again, Luna, I promise! Don’t be mad! But honestly… you really are beautiful!" Evan laughed, trying to smooth things over.

Suddenly, a stabbing pain shot through his brow. "Still daring to talk back? If I don’t teach you a lesson, you’ll never remember!"

Evan could only grit his teeth and endure Luna’s torment, then forced his focus back into unleashing Heart Sword—body and soul poured into the attack.

Chaos Qi roared through his Earth Star Pellet, swirling madly as Evan split his mind in two—heart guiding sword, thoughts divided. He was finally getting the hang of it.

His eyes snapped open. Both arms shot up, aiming at Tyrian—and two invisible sword-qi blasts streaked straight for the Skyfiend Tiger’s eyes, fast as lightning.

Heart Sword was invisible, but the sword-qi ripples still tipped Tyrian off. He dodged fast—avoiding a hit to the eyes, but his massive frame couldn’t escape it all.

A sharp pain shot through Tyrian’s hide. He was stunned—this brat on the ground could actually hurt him, even break through his defense!

It was just a shallow cut, nothing for a beast his size. But the humiliation was unbearable—wounded by a human ant! If word got out, his dignity would be trampled, his reputation in Beastfall Forest shattered. How could he ever show his face again?

If Vera the Violet Thunderfox, that shameless vixen, found out—he’d never lift his head again. This annoying ant had to die, no matter what!

Evan was floored—Heart Sword could actually hurt Tyrian? The power was wild, almost on par with Goldwing’s Feather-Arrows!

What Evan didn’t know was that now, having broken into the Fourth Layer of the Earth Martial Realm, his Heart Sword—if powered by starforce—could already fight Sixth-Layer experts without losing.

But if he fueled it with Chaos Qi, he could threaten Seventh-Layer Earth Martial cultivators—or even kill them outright! His attack power was already terrifying.

As Tyrian dodged Evan’s sudden Heart Sword attack, Goldwing pounced—his talons tore a huge gash in the tiger’s hide, blood raining down from the sky!

But Tyrian’s body was so huge, truly wounding him was nearly impossible. Goldwing grew anxious—his starforce was more than half gone. If this kept up, Tyrian would finish him off soon.

Gritting his teeth against the pain, Tyrian dove from the sky and roared at Evan, "You little brat, you dare ambush your Tiger Grandpa? Today, this Tiger will swallow you whole!"

Evan saw Tyrian swoop down and knew his plan had worked. A direct clash would be suicide—so before Tyrian landed, Evan unleashed Shifting Position, blinking to the side in an instant.

As soon as Tyrian hit the ground, Goldwing dove after him. The two colossal beasts exploded into another furious ground battle.

Evan kept his distance, launching Heart Sword sneak attacks at Tyrian whenever he saw an opening.

Every time Tyrian tried to rush Evan, Goldwing blocked the way, driving Tyrian into a frenzy. Their fighting got crazier—injury for injury, neither backing down! Goldwing was starting to struggle…
