On his way upstairs, Ian Song suddenly remembered he hadn’t checked his Fame Points yet.
So, he pulled up the system interface.
He ignored everything else and focused straight on the Fame Points column.
When he returned to Riverstone City yesterday, his Fame Points had already broken past 35 million. Now, another day had passed.
"Over 97 million now! Not bad, not bad!"
An increase of more than 62 million Fame Points—this was both within his expectations and a pleasant surprise.
Closing the system interface, he analyzed to himself: the hijacking incident probably wouldn’t die down for a while, so his Fame Points might jump by another hundred million before it was over.
"Huh?"
Ian suddenly remembered something—wasn't today the final of the Riverstone City Piano Competition?
Even though the Fame Points from the piano contest now seemed trivial to him, he was someone who always finished what he started, so he had to compete this time.
Just as he walked into the living room, Ian saw Han Dayuan already up, lounging on the sofa with tea, while Jenny bustled in the kitchen making breakfast.
Han Dayuan’s eyes lit up when he saw Ian. He jumped up from the sofa and greeted him warmly, "Ian, why are you up so early? Why not sleep a little longer?"
"Thanks for your concern, Uncle Han. I’m used to getting up at this time every day," Ian replied calmly.
"Haha, that’s your usual routine. But last night you used up a lot of energy, so you should sleep in! I already told your aunt to buy more nutritious food after breakfast to help you recover!" Han Dayuan winked and joked.
Ian felt a bit speechless. "No need, Uncle Han, I’m always healthy. Besides, I’ve got things to handle back in Riverstone City, so I’ll be heading back after breakfast."
Hearing Ian was leaving, Han Dayuan immediately got upset: "Ian, do you look down on our Han family because we’re poor?"
"Uncle Han, please don’t misunderstand. I didn’t mean that at all!" Ian said, a bit helpless.
Han Dayuan’s smile returned. "If that’s not the case, then stay a few more days! Back in Riverstone, you and Hannah are teacher and student, so things are awkward. Here, no one knows your relationship! After breakfast, I’ll have Hannah show you around Jiangzhou so you two can get closer—after all, you’ve already…"
"Stop!" Ian cut him off quickly as Han Dayuan got more and more outrageous. "Uncle, nothing happened between me and Hannah last night. Please don’t misunderstand!"
Han Dayuan’s face changed instantly. He slammed the table, glaring at Ian: "You brat, are you trying to eat and wipe your mouth clean, then deny everything?"
"Nothing happened between Ian and me. If you don’t believe it, we can go to the hospital and get checked—I’m still a virgin!" At that moment, Hannah walked out of her room, glaring coldly at Han Dayuan. She was clearly fed up with his scheming.
"Impossible! You two, a boy and a girl, slept in the same bed all night—how could nothing have happened?" Han Dayuan was stunned.
Hannah continued coldly, "Nothing happened—believe it or not. And you’d better never try this kind of dirty trick on me again, or I’ll stop calling you my father!"
Seeing his daughter so firm, Han Dayuan grew uneasy, glancing between Ian and Hannah. "Really, nothing happened?"
"Really, nothing," Ian shrugged.
Hannah didn’t say anything, but her expression made it clear she agreed.
Seeing this, Han Dayuan realized his plan had failed, and couldn’t help sinking into disappointment.
Suddenly, Han Dayuan’s eyes lit up again. "Kid, even if nothing happened, you still spent the night in bed with my daughter while you were both almost naked. Hannah is a very traditional girl—she’s never even held hands with a boy at school. So you still have to take responsibility!"
"Han Dayuan, are you trying to drive me to my death?" Hannah burst into tears at his shameless words, feeling angry, helpless, and deeply powerless. How did she end up with such a shameless father?
Ian was startled by Hannah’s strong reaction. He hadn’t expected her to be so intense, and his heart sank—she must really dislike him, that’s why she’s so determined.
Unexpectedly, Han Dayuan didn’t back down at all. Instead, he said coldly, "You’re my daughter, so I get to decide your affairs! Kid, let me ask you one more time—are you going to take responsibility for my daughter or not?"
Ian gave a bitter smile. "I’d like to take responsibility, but Hannah isn’t willing." He looked at her sincerely. "Hannah, to be honest, I do like you. But don’t worry, I won’t use last night to pester you. I’ve got things to handle back in Riverstone, so I’ll be leaving first."
As soon as he finished speaking, Ian turned and walked out.
Outside the room, Ian let out a heavy sigh. It was an unsuccessful confession, but at least he’d said it. Still, he felt a bit regretful—who knew what kind of jerk would end up marrying such a good woman?
Thinking about this, he felt a little down.
Just as he went downstairs, he ran into Henry Han. To his surprise, Ian’s earlier words had actually worked—Henry now stared at him with burning fighting spirit. "I’ll surpass you within three years!"
"Good, I’ll be waiting!"
Han family living room.
When Ian confessed he liked her in front of everyone, Hannah was stunned. Her anger vanished, her heart raced, and a strange new feeling bloomed inside. But his next words annoyed her—he’d clearly misunderstood her. Earlier, alone in her room, she’d carefully examined her own feelings and realized she did have some affection for Ian.
The main reasons she’d opposed him so strongly were: first, Han Dayuan’s scheming disgusted her; second, she and Ian were teacher and student; third, she worried he’d think poorly of her because of the setup. She never expected things would backfire so badly.
"Sigh, I guess we’re fated but not destined!" she thought with a quiet sigh, and went back to her room.
On the road, Ian called Harvey Hai. Harvey was very warm on the phone. Ian asked him for a favor—to have someone watch Han Dayuan and keep him from gambling again.
Harvey agreed right away, and also hinted that the Hai Family had already moved against Leon Liang last night. After all, Leon tried to kill him yesterday—there was no way Harvey would let that slide.
Plus, with Leon Liang reaching Innate Master level, he’d become an unpredictable factor for the Hai Family. Only his death could guarantee their control over Jiangzhou. Even though Harvey didn’t spell it out, Ian could already guess Leon’s fate: death was the only outcome!
Not long after his call with Harvey, Ian got another call from Zhen Yun, reminding him to be on time for the 10 a.m. final of the Riverstone City Piano Competition.
