Restriction Techniques

In the next moment, a hundred-zhang sword-qi hovered above Taber Hawk’s head. Ian Song stepped forward into the formation, watching Taber Hawk with amusement as his face twisted in terror. “You deliberately came here without your bodyguards to keep things secret, didn’t you? So none of your guards know you came to see me. That means, even if I killed you, no one would know it was me. Am I right?”

Hearing this, Taber Hawk’s face turned deathly pale. Abandoning his last trace of arrogance, he pleaded:

“You... you can’t do this! Please, don’t kill me. I swear, I’ll never meddle in your business with my cousin again!”

“Ha!”

Ian Song laughed, snapped his fingers, and the massive sword-qi vanished, along with the vortex binding Taber Hawk.

“Young Master Taber, I was just joking with you. You don’t mind, do you?”

Taber Hawk didn’t reply. Staring at Ian Song, a hint of struggle flashed in his eyes—this was the perfect chance to kill Ian and erase his humiliation forever.

But he knew Ian Song was far too shrewd to be without backup. If he failed to kill Ian, he’d be the one to die instead.

“What’s wrong? Thinking of killing me? Go ahead, give it a try.”

Ian Song said with a smile.

Taber Hawk said.

"I don't trust other people's promises—only my own!"

"Hmph! Remember, you'd better not let that recording stone fall into anyone else's hands. Otherwise, I'll fight you to the death!"

Watching Taber Hawk leave in anger.

Ian Song shook his head and returned to his room, taking out the short sword.

It was indeed a God Emperor-grade weapon, but it was sealed with many restrictions. Without breaking the restrictions, its power was little different from an ordinary artifact—at most, it was just sharper.

Ian Song sent his divine sense into the sword.

After a short while, he withdrew his divine sense.

The restrictions inside the sword far surpassed anything recorded in the Star King’s collection of restriction manuals. They were exquisitely done; at his current level, he had no hope of breaking them.

As for forcibly breaking the restrictions, he wasn’t capable of that either.

Whoever set these restrictions must be a God Emperor. At his current cultivation, trying to break a God Emperor’s restriction was a joke.

He then took out the bead; it was the same—its restrictions were also beyond his ability to break.

For a moment, Ian Song couldn’t help but sigh softly.

In the end, Ian decided to stroll around the city to see if there were any books on restrictions for sale.

Soon, he arrived at a shop specializing in cultivation methods, divine abilities, arrays, and restriction arts.

"I need books related to restrictions. Do you have any?"

Ian Song asked directly.

"Yes, sir. This way, please!"

The Lower-Rank God clerk led Ian Song to an area where over two hundred jade slips were stored.

The clerk pointed to the jade slips and said, "Sir, you can only view one-thousandth of the contents in each jade slip, and each one costs a god-crystal to view."

"Bring them all over!"

Ian Song directly tossed over two hundred god-crystals.

The clerk’s eyes lit up and hurriedly brought out the two hundred-plus jade slips with restriction records for Ian Song to view.

Ian Song was quite accomplished in restriction arts.

He only needed to read a portion to judge whether a restriction method was strong or weak.

Soon, he finished viewing all the jade slips, but his face was full of disappointment—they were far inferior to those in the Star King’s collection.

"Sir, none of them satisfied you?"

The clerk asked cautiously.

"Is this all your shop has for restriction arts?"

"Sir, these are all the restriction manuals we have. Sorry!"

"Do you know where I could buy more advanced restriction arts?" Ian Song asked.

"Sir, advanced restriction arts aren’t sold in ordinary shops! You’re a God-Demon. The God-Demon Corps has advanced restriction arts—why not check there?"

Reminded, Ian Song patted his forehead, tossed the clerk a god-crystal as a tip, and hurried off to the God-Demon Corps.

"Ian Song, are you here for another mission?"

A familiar One-Star God-Demon asked.

"Of course not. I’m going to check out the Divine Arts Pavilion!"

Ian Song replied and hurried off to the Divine Arts Pavilion, which had cultivation methods, artifact forging, pill refining, arrays—and, naturally, restriction arts.

But after viewing all the restriction arts on the first floor, Ian Song was disappointed.

To see more advanced restriction arts, he’d have to go to the second floor or higher—but entry to the second floor required Two-Star God-Demon rank.

"Forget it, I’ll just take another mission and get promoted to Two-Star God-Demon first!"

After looking around the Quest Hall, Ian Song finally accepted a solo mission.

The mission was fairly simple.

He only needed to kill five different savage beasts and bring back their corpses to complete the mission.

The mission reward was 150 god-crystals, and the time limit was one month.

He took the mission crystal, which contained the locations of the beasts and their weaknesses.

The five beasts weren’t strong—just late-stage Lower-Rank Gods.

But one of the beasts was a social creature, making it hard to hunt.

But for Ian Song, it wasn’t a problem.

So, that same day, Ian Song set out.

Three days later, he returned smoothly and handed in the mission.

His God-Demon rank rose to Two-Star.

He then went to the Divine Arts Pavilion again, but even after reaching the second floor, he still couldn’t find the restriction arts he needed.

So he’d have to upgrade to Three-Star God-Demon as soon as possible.

Three-Star God-Demon required late-stage Mid-Rank God cultivation, and Ian Song, showing that level, just met the standard.

But to get promoted to Three-Star God-Demon, he’d have to complete twenty Two-Star missions.

So Ian Song headed straight for the second floor, where Two-Star God-Demons took missions.

"You actually got promoted to Two-Star God-Demon?"

Aubrey North looked at Ian Song in shock.

Ian Song smiled but didn’t reply. He wandered the Quest Hall, then fixed his gaze on a solo mission—to kill a beast at early-stage Mid-Rank God within a month.

The mission reward was 200 god-crystals.

But before he could take the mission crystal, someone else snatched it first.
