In the blink of an eye, it was already May.
With the May Day holiday, the students had even more ideas, and everyone had more time to get hands-on.
Everyone wanted to show off their skills at this campus festival and present their strongest side.
Every detail had to be absolutely perfect.
That day, Cherry Miller walked into the meeting room and immediately collapsed onto the table, exhausted.
Yina Yin hurried over and started massaging Cherry's shoulders. "My Cherry, you're totally wiped out! What are we going to do?"
Cherry was just about to get up when Yina Yin pressed her back into the chair. "Sit still! Let me give you a shoulder massage."
"You're the heiress, I'm your assistant. How can I let you serve me?" Cherry protested.
"But I like it!" Yina Yin plopped her chin on Cherry's shoulder, grinning. "I just love giving you shoulder massages!"
Cherry laughed, a little exasperated. "If Mrs. Charles Yin and Mr. Yin find out, they'll say I didn't take care of you guys!"
Ryan King walked over with a cup of coffee and handed it to Cherry Miller. Smiling, he said, "Cherry, you’re totally wiped out! That’s why the director scolded us. We’re supposed to be gentlemen, but we just stood by and watched a lady get exhausted. That’s not how real gentlemen act!"
The others all nodded and laughed in agreement.
"Alright, leave the rest to us!" Leo and Theo Mo walked over and said, "The big picture’s set, so we’ll handle the details! Oh, by the way, Ethan Yin and Miles Gu are coming back the day after tomorrow! With them here, we’re finally free!"
"What?!" Cherry Miller sat up straight instantly.
She wasn’t ready yet.
Ethan Yin is coming back already?
Yina Yin grinned, "Cherry, what are you so worried about?"
"N-no, it’s nothing!" Cherry quickly tried to cover up, while the others just smiled knowingly.
After everyone else left, Cherry sat at her desk, zoning out for a long time.
She was pretty sure she’d made everything clear to Ethan last time, right?
She remembered saying everything she needed to. So why did she still feel so uneasy?
It just felt impossible to face him.
So conflicted!
Just as Cherry was lost in her thoughts, someone knocked on the door outside. "Is Assistant Miller here? I’m the Student Council President from Forest Grove High School."
"Come in," Cherry said quickly, straightening up.
The conference room doors opened, and a boy and a girl walked in.
They were the Student Council President and Vice President from Forest Grove High School.
The president, Jason Niu, was a local rich kid—pretty popular at Forest Grove High, but not so much at St. Diago Academy.
So, he treated Cherry with extra respect.
The vice president was an old acquaintance—the girl Yina Yin had rescued, Cindy Wu.
Cindy Wu nodded.
"Do you like her?" Cherry Miller said, "It’s because she stands up for others, and when she saw you being bullied, she stepped in. She’s the kind of person who hates to see girls treated unfairly, so she always protects them. She’s so friendly and approachable—no wonder all the girls at school adore her. But do you know who she is?"
Cindy Wu shook her head.
Young girls in love—there’s just no reasoning with it.
"Do you know who owns this school?" Cherry Miller asked again.
Cindy Wu shook her head again, looking confused.
She was just an ordinary girl from a regular high school—how could she possibly know anything about St. Diago Academy?
To people like her, St. Diago Academy was on a whole other level—completely out of reach.
Who would dare to gossip about St. Diago Academy?
Besides, even if they tried, they’d never find anything out!
It’s like us regular folks trying to dig up info on the FBI—where would we even start? It’s not even in the same world!
Cherry Miller grew serious. "That was my mistake. Let me officially introduce myself. My name is Cherry Miller. I’m the personal assistant and chief aide to Yina Yin, one of the heirs of the Yin Group. My job is to help Miss Yin graduate, take over the family business, and when she gets married, I’ll keep working for her—for life, if the Yin Family doesn’t let me go."
Cindy Wu was stunned.
This was way too high-level!
Wait, did she just say she’s the chief aide to the eldest Yin daughter?
Cherry Miller repeated herself: "Yes, I’m Yina Yin’s chief aide. Yina Yin is the one who saved you that day. She’s 175 cm tall, but she’s every bit a girl—and she’s got a fiancé. Her fiancé is the grandson of the Duke of Fair in England, the only son of Earl Fair, and the adopted son of the Yin Group’s CEO and his wife. He’s been her future husband since they were kids—the engagement ceremony will be happening soon."
Cindy Wu just stood there, completely dumbfounded.
She couldn’t accept it.
The person she’d been crushing on all this time was a girl, just like her?

How is that even possible?
How could this be?!
That heartbeat—she knew it was real!
"Sorry, but I had to tell you all this," Cherry Miller continued. "It was my oversight. Miss Yin has always been like this—especially gentle with girls. She’s been at St. Diago Academy since kindergarten, all the way through high school. Everyone at school knows she’s a girl, so I never got in the habit of explaining her gender to outsiders. At school, she’s been flirting with girls since she was little, and everyone loves it. But that kind of affection is different from the way you feel."
"I apologize for my oversight. I really didn’t think it through. My Miss Yin is just too cool," Cherry Miller said with a wry smile. "The Yin Family’s genes are too strong—whether it’s Mrs. Yin, Mr. Yin, Ethan, or Yina, their charisma just can’t be hidden. Liking her isn’t embarrassing at all. I’ll keep your secret—no one will laugh at you."
Hearing Cherry Miller say that, Cindy Wu finally relaxed a little. "You’re a good person, Miss Miller. Thank you."
Cindy Wu bowed deeply to Cherry Miller, then turned and ran off.
Watching Cindy Wu’s retreating figure, Cherry Miller could only shake her head and get back to work.
Cindy Wu rushed out, and wouldn’t you know it—she ran straight toward the area where Yina Yin was.
From afar, she saw Yina Yin surrounded by a crowd of girls, effortlessly flirting with them—and the girls were loving every minute.
Seeing this scene, Cindy Wu felt so conflicted inside!
So it was all true!
She just liked flirting with girls—it wasn’t because she liked them romantically.
Cindy Wu’s heart ached.
Her dream guy had turned out to be a girl. That gap was just too much!
It hurt a hundred times more than being rejected by her dream guy.
If her dream guy said he didn’t like her, at least she’d have a chance to try.
But if the other person was a girl, what could she do?
Yina Yin finished her flirting and left, leaving behind a bunch of squealing girls.
Cindy Wu slowly walked over and couldn’t help asking, "Do you know who she is?"
"Of course!" one of the girls replied, glancing at Cindy Wu’s Forest Grove High School uniform and laughing. "Oh, so you’re from Forest Grove! No wonder you don’t know her. We’ve been getting flirted with since we were kids!"
"You don’t mind?" Cindy Wu couldn’t help asking.
"Why would we mind?" another girl asked back. "She’s cooler, gentler, and more caring than most of the boys. She’s the perfect dream guy! Who says you have to be with your dream guy? Having someone to admire isn’t a bad thing."
"Exactly! Even knowing she’s a girl, we’re happy to be flirted with! She’s just that cool!" another girl chimed in. "She’s the face of St. Diago’s junior high—being flirted with by her is a blessing!"
"If I were a boy, I’d want to marry her!" a third girl said. "And if she ever swings my way, I hope I’ll be the one she chooses!"
The others burst out laughing. "Keep dreaming! She was already engaged before she was even born! Her fiancé is our dream guy!"
The girls giggled and walked away together.
Listening to their conversation, Cindy Wu felt even worse.
She admired Yina Yin’s looks and personality too, but she just couldn’t accept that Yina was a girl.
Cindy Wu wandered the campus aimlessly, her mind a mess, not even knowing where she’d ended up.
As she walked, a surprised voice called out, "Hey, pretty girl! What are you doing here? The festival hasn’t even started yet!"
Cindy Wu turned and saw Yina Yin standing there in her sharp St. Diago Academy uniform, holding two books.
In that uniform, she was so dazzling Cindy couldn’t look away.
Short hair, a devil-may-care smile, and a tall, upright figure. Why did she have to be a girl?
Cindy Wu felt so wronged.
She was so upset, tears started streaming down her face.
