Chapter 668: Ten Seconds

Hubert charged forward, swinging the heavy Slaughter with all his might. Steam rose from his body as he pushed his strength to its absolute limit. Leaping into the air, Hubert brought Slaughter down with brutal force.

But the Minotaur Totem Warrior merely gripped his massive Totem Pillar, swatting at Hubert as if he were a fly. Wild runes lit up along the pitch-black pillar, and when it collided with Slaughter, visible shockwaves rippled through the air.

In the blink of an eye, the air between Slaughter and the Totem Pillar exploded a dozen times, each blast spawning tiny, web-like arcs of lightning.

Bang!

With a deafening crash, a visible shockwave burst from the Totem Pillar. Its power surged, amplifying the Minotaur’s casual strike at least twofold!

Hubert, who had already pushed himself to the limit, was flung back as if he were utterly powerless. Slaughter and all were hurled away by the tremendous recoil.

The force was so immense that Hubert shot through the air like he’d cast Flight, flying over two hundred meters before crashing into a pillar of the grand hall.

Even Anderson shivered at the sight.

"Merlin, think fast! These two monsters are way tougher than that half-lich before. They’re not distracted by any life-binding runes…"

The Minotaur Totem Warrior clutched his totem pole, charging forward like a mad beast. Everyone retreated—even Reina, the Frost Dragon, wasn’t confident about engaging this brute in close combat. That totem pole had to weigh at least ten thousand pounds, and with rune enhancements, it was probably even heavier.

This was a force no ordinary person could withstand. Any obstacle in his path was simply smashed aside by a swing of the totem pole—no finesse required.

Leon frowned. Just having the Minotaur Totem Warrior blocking the way was enough to put everyone under immense pressure, let alone the Storm Shaman lurking behind him.

Slow, Weakness...

While hurling a barrage of debilitating spells, Leon also drew out the Death Tome, summoning Ragulin and Barton to the field.

After Ragulin blessed the party with his aura, he charged straight toward the distant Storm Shaman.

Barton, meanwhile, unleashed a torrent of negative spells at the Minotaur Totem Warrior.

Reina began casting powerful frost magic as well, doing her best to slow the enemy’s advance.

With so many negative spells stacked, the Minotaur Totem Warrior’s speed was reduced by a significant margin—at least enough that he couldn’t catch up to the group. Anyone with half a brain wouldn’t dare face this monster in close combat.

The Storm Shaman was a real nuisance. His twin Lightning Shields rendered the party’s most powerful spell barrages useless. Even worse, no one knew what other support magic he might have up his sleeve. If he had spells that could further bolster the Minotaur Totem Warrior’s strength, this fight would be impossible.

Leon activated Flame Elemental Form, blinking through the hall amid a blaze of fire. Reina transformed into her dragon form and soared overhead. Even the alchemical golems couldn’t remain stationary while casting spells anymore.

The Minotaur Totem Warrior, weakened by at least twenty percent, was still relentlessly chasing the group.

Ragulin and Anderson advanced to confront the Storm Shaman. But before they could get close, they saw twin Lightning Shields flicker to life around the shaman.

Ragulin gripped the Sword of Damnation and swung at the shield—only to be met by a flood of hair-thin blue lightning crackling back at him.

Countless blue bolts ravaged Ragulin’s body, deathly energy billowing off him in black smoke. In a single exchange, Ragulin was already wounded.

Then, the Storm Shaman raised his lightning staff and pointed at the Minotaur Totem Warrior from afar.

A bolt of lightning as thick as a thumb crashed down from above, striking the Minotaur Totem Warrior instantly.

In the blink of an eye, lightning coursed across the Minotaur’s entire body, shattering the mass of negative spells that had been cast upon him.

Lightning Purification...

Seth, standing at a distance, gasped in shock. He hadn’t expected the Storm Shaman to possess such an ability—to instantly cleanse all the negative spells from the Minotaur Totem Warrior.
