Who Poisoned Her?

Outside the birthing room, Alexander Hayes paced back and forth, his fists clenched so tightly the veins bulged, as he listened to the cries of Lily Evans coming from inside.

If he could bear this pain for Lily, he would do so without hesitation!

Unfortunately, all he could do was wait helplessly outside, unable to share even a fraction of Lily's suffering.

This made Alexander Hayes feel deeply guilty, and he swore to make it up to Lily, to love her even more.

Although it was a premature and induced labor, Lily's delivery was no faster than a normal birth—the pain and hardship were just as great.

Alexander Hayes waited outside, every minute feeling like a year. Then he saw Quentin Lin and Simon Yu return—Quentin clutching a roster, plopped down beside Alexander and said, "Brother-in-law, here's the blood type list I compiled. Lily is type A. There are seventy-four people on the list who can donate. The baby's blood type is unknown; we'll test after birth and pick a suitable donor from the roster immediately."

"Good boy, thank you for your hard work." Alexander sat side by side with Quentin Lin, noticing the dark circles under the child's eyes from exhaustion.

Since treating Belle's child, Quentin Lin had been in a constant state of nervous busyness. Now, running around for Lily Evans as well, he was only six years old and already stretched thin. Leaning against Alexander, he began to nod off.

"Quentin is worn out. I'll take him back to rest for now. There's still some time before Her Highness gives birth. Once the baby is born, I'll bring Quentin back." Simon Yu said, watching Quentin yawn repeatedly.

Just as Simon Yu bent down to pick up Quentin Lin, Sean Hayes rushed in at the door, looking grave. "Your Highness, there's still no clue about the person who poisoned..."
