After a long journey, they finally arrived at Ruiland City. This time, Ivy Shen bolted out of the carriage like a happy child, lifting the curtain and running out first. The men were scared out of their wits, terrified she'd trip or bump into something if she wasn't careful.
"Wife..." Liam Willow had received Adrian Night's carrier pigeon message days ago, and had been waiting at the city gate every single day, standing there from dawn to dusk just to see if they'd return.
"Fourth Brother, I missed you so much!" She ran up and threw her arms around Liam Willow's neck, acting cute and clingy. She really did care about him—he was honestly the most innocent of them all!
"Wife, I missed you too! Willow waited for you to come back!" Liam was so excited, he didn't even notice Ivy calling him 'Fourth Brother.'
Hearing this, Ivy quickly grabbed his shoulders and pulled him away, frowning. "Fourth Brother, what are you talking about? I'm your Seventh Sister! Who's your wife? Wait, you have a wife now? When did you get married, and why didn't you invite your Seventh Sister?" She pouted, looking genuinely annoyed.
"Wife... I'm calling you! What's wrong with you?" Liam seemed to sense something was off and glanced in confusion at the four men standing behind Ivy.
Seeing this, Butterfly Rogue quickly pulled Liam aside and chattered away, explaining the situation. Meanwhile, Colin Kerr, listening nearby, grinned wider and wider—the whole 'accident' was basically a dream come true for him.
"How did this happen? Is my wife okay now?" Liam asked anxiously after hearing Butterfly Rogue's explanation.
"It's nothing serious now, it's just that her memory seems to have forgotten all of us as husbands—she only remembers us as one big family. Honestly, that's not so bad. As long as she doesn't treat us like strangers, right?" Butterfly Rogue said quickly.
"Yeah." The ever-pure Liam nodded, then walked back to Ivy, took her hand, and said, "Wife—uh, Seventh Sister, don't worry. Fourth Brother will stay with you, whether you remember me or not."
"Fourth Brother, what are you even saying?" Ivy kept up her act, playing dumb, but inside she felt a wave of warmth. What a fool!
"Where's that scheming guy?" Adrian Night glanced around, not seeing Caleb Miles anywhere, and couldn't help but ask curiously.
"Oh, he's back home getting the banquet ready. Come on, let's head back!" Liam Willow said quickly.
So the whole group grandly headed for the back door of the Disco Nightclub. When Ivy first set up the place, she made sure to leave a secret passage that only she could use—she didn't want to go in through the main entrance with all the party people and risk causing chaos.
Today, that passage was perfect for sneaking in her whole lineup of gorgeous husbands. If they'd gone through the front, it would've caused a total uproar.
With Liam Willow leading the way, they quickly reached a private suite on the second floor. As they passed the first floor, Ethan Chu was completely stunned. He stared at the wild crowd below, wondering if everyone was sick—why were their heads bobbing nonstop? But the strange music made him want to move too. What the heck was going on?!
"Hey, Old Six, why are you spacing out?" Butterfly Rogue called out when he saw Ethan Chu lagging behind the group.
Hearing that, Ethan pointed at the crowd below, the unusual lights, and all the other things that caught his curiosity. He couldn't help but stop walking.
Butterfly Rogue came over, grinning. "This is Xin'er’s invention—it's called Disco. See that red stuff? That's wine. And the ones with little umbrellas are cocktails."
"Uh, what are those things?" Ethan asked, totally fascinated.
"Hey, stop being so curious. After dinner, I'll take you out for some disco dancing," Butterfly Rogue said, grabbing Ethan's arm and dragging him upstairs.
"Whoa, so much food!" As soon as Ivy walked in, she totally ignored the guy clutching his abacus and just drooled over the feast on the table. After so many days on the road, she'd nearly forgotten what good food tasted like. Now that she was determined to be her happy self, she was going to eat well and drink well—she needed all the energy she could get for revenge!
Caleb Miles, standing to the side, was completely stunned. How could she be so beautiful? Even though Liam Willow had told him the truth, he never imagined she'd be this gorgeous—like a fairy from heaven. Pale skin, rosy lips, big sparkling eyes, and perfectly sculpted features all came together into a beauty he'd never seen before.
"Ahem, ahem!" Adrian Night, who'd come up behind them, coughed pointedly to snap Caleb out of his daze and remind him they were all there.
"Welcome back!" Caleb quickly flashed a meaningful smile at the men behind Ivy. After half a year apart, how had she picked up two extra guys? He'd met Butterfly Rogue before, but who was the handsome, imposing stranger next to him?!
"Third Brother, did you make all this? Xin'er loves it!" Ivy looked up at the abacus man and gave him a big smile.
Caleb froze. Third Brother? Actually, Ivy's behavior didn't seem odd to him at all—this was exactly how she'd acted ever since she fell off that cliff. Her looks had changed, but her personality was still totally blunt and unpretentious. But why was she calling him Third Brother?!
"Old Three, here's what happened—" The ever-kind little bunny (Liam Willow) hurried over and chattered out the whole story.
"How could something like this happen?" Caleb was pretty surprised, but he didn't doubt it at all—this was just how Ivy was. Honestly, maybe this memory thing was actually a good thing for him!
"Come on, brothers, let's eat!" With that, Ivy plopped down at the table and started eating. The six men all sat down in perfect unison.
"Xin'er, this tastes great—try it!" Adrian Night quickly picked up a piece of meat and put it in her bowl.
"This soup is super nourishing." Lucian Vane, not to be outdone, ladled out a bowl of black chicken soup for her.
"Xin'er, veggies are good! Eat some to—um, boost your... vitality!" Butterfly Rogue blurted out after struggling to find the right words.
"This one's good. You're way too skinny." Ethan Chu didn't say much—he just dropped a piece of beef into her bowl.
"Here, little sister—this shellfish is cheap but fresh!" Caleb Miles scooped some up for her with a spoon.
"Xin'er, you said you liked steamed buns, so I made these myself." Liam Willow, blushing, handed her a giant bowl of soft, fluffy mantou.
"Ugh, you guys are so annoying! I can serve myself, okay? How am I supposed to eat like this?" Ivy glared at the mountain of food piled in her bowl, plus all the soup and buns in front of her. What were these guys even thinking?!
"Delicious, yeah, it's delicious..." When Ivy snapped, everyone ducked their heads and started eating their own food, mumbling about how tasty it was and totally ignoring her.
Seeing this, Ivy got even more annoyed. Oh, so now they're bullying her? Fine—she'd make them self-destruct! She set down her chopsticks, smiled sweetly, and said, "Brothers, are you all still sleeping the same way as when we were kids tonight?"
The six men all froze.
"Big Brother, I remember you especially liked Sixth Brother—you two always slept together when you were kids. So tonight you'll sleep together again, right?"
"Uh, well..."
"Fifth Brother, I remember you especially loved Second Brother, right? You two were so close you even shared a pair of pants!"
"Xin'er, that's not—"
"Third Brother, didn't you always admire generals when you were little? Well, Colin Kerr here is a general, so you two should sleep together tonight. That way you can fulfill your childhood dream!" She beamed, leaving the whole group so stunned they didn't know how to respond.
"What's wrong? Did Xin'er remember it wrong?" Seeing their dark faces and silence, Ivy furrowed her brows and pretended to be on the verge of tears, her pretty face full of grievance and her big eyes shimmering with unshed tears.
"No, no, we're still just like when we were kids!" Unable to stand Ivy's expression, Adrian Night was the first to surrender. Even though everyone had plenty of complaints—especially Butterfly Rogue, who was terrified of sharing a bed with the gender-bending Lucian Vane—none of them could bear to see Ivy cry, so they all just swallowed their protests and kept quiet.
"Really? That's wonderful! You all really are the same caring brothers as ever."
"Um, Seventh Sister..." Caleb Miles finally spoke up, conflicted. He hadn't spent much time with her, and didn't care for her the way the others did. Now she wanted him to share a bed with a guy missing an arm, and just the thought of it made his skin crawl.
"What is it, Third Brother?"
"Well, my childhood dream has changed. I don't like generals anymore. Now I really like you, Fourth Brother. If it's no trouble, can I sleep with Old Four instead?" Honestly, Liam Willow looks girly, but at least his personality is normal—way better than those guys who look manly but are secretly bent.
Hearing this, Ivy Shen's face turned utterly shocked. She suddenly stood up, hands trembling as she gripped the table, her eyes brimming with hurt. "You... you're not Third Brother. You can't be!"
"Why?" Caleb Miles was totally baffled.
"Did you forget, Third Brother? Fourth Brother has always slept alone since he was a kid because he wanted to be top scholar—he stayed up late reading every night. You all said you couldn't take it and moved out!" As she finished, Ivy suddenly put on another wounded face, then pointed a delicate finger at him and shrieked, "You're not Third Brother! Who are you? Why did you come to Earth? What's your purpose?!"
"Uh?" Caleb was instantly dumbfounded by Ivy Shen's outburst.
"No, oh no, you're not Third Brother—who are you? Ah, Third Brother, Third Brother, where did you go?" Suddenly, Ivy clutched her chest in pain, her face twisted in anguish like she'd just suffered the biggest blow ever and was about to collapse.
"Xin'er!" The five men rushed over, shouting her name.
"No, don't help me—just let me die! I promised our parents I'd keep all my brothers happy, but now... now I've lost Third Brother. Boohoo, I... I... oh oh oh—" Ivy gasped for breath, clutching her chest, her voice loud and desperate.
Seeing this, the other five exchanged glances, then, with perfect unspoken teamwork, surrounded Caleb and started raining punches on his head, roaring, "Who told you to bully Xin'er? Admit it! If you don't, we'll beat you to death!" Their fists kept flying.
"Okay, okay! I'm Third Brother! My dream is still the same as before!" Suddenly, Caleb hugged his head and shouted desperately.
Hearing that, Ivy zipped over to his side in a flash, her speed almost supernatural. "Great! I knew you were Third Brother—Xin'er would never get it wrong! All right, that's settled. Tonight, you all sleep as planned. Tomorrow morning, I'll come wake you up, just like when we were kids. Remember, you can't lift the quilt until I get there!" She emphasized 'quilt,' feeling super smug inside. Mess with her? Just wait for tonight's chaos!
"Xin'er, when we were kids you woke us up, but now we're all grown up—it's not really convenient for you to come in the morning. We'll get up ourselves," Lucian Vane quickly said. No way was he letting Xin'er see him sleeping next to that flower thief—what if he caught something? That'd be a huge loss.
"Yeah, Seventh Sister, we're adults now—it'd be weird for you to wake us up," Butterfly Rogue chimed in, panicking. He definitely didn't want to sleep with that she-male! What if he tried something crazy in the night? He had principles, okay? He only loved Xin'er!
Seeing their reactions, Ivy nodded slightly. "All right then—wishing you all a good night's sleep!" With that, she dropped her bowl and chopsticks, strode out, and headed for her own room. As she turned away, no one noticed her sly smile—tomorrow's drama was going to be worth the wait!
