Stand Up for Him? What a Joke

"Bro, I know! I thought you went missing all those years ago, but I never expected you to turn out this awesome!"

Leo Liu was practically bursting with excitement.

A while back, thanks to Evan Lin, Leo had been feeling frustrated and blocked every single day.

But Leo couldn’t beat Evan Lin in a fight, and rumor had it Evan’s grades were insane. Leo never even got a chance to save face.

He never expected his older brother Gary Liu, who’d been missing for years, would suddenly call and invite him to an alchemist conference.

At first, Leo was skeptical. Groups like the Southriver Sword Sect and Miracle Hand Sect seemed way too far from a normal person’s world. Even though Leo was kind of a big shot at Peiying High, there was no way he could get close to those circles.

But when he brought Ivy Liang to meet Gary Liu, Leo finally realized it was all real.

From now on, his whole life might change because of Gary Liu.

"You could say that, I guess. But for normal stuff, I’m more than enough." Gary Liu grinned, looking pretty pleased with himself.

His talent wasn’t top-tier in Miracle Hand Sect, but after years of grinding, he’d made real progress. As a second-grade Little Doctor, he already got tons of respect in the mundane world—and once he made full Doctor, he’d be on par with the big bosses.

Even when Victor Su tried to beg for help from Dr. Donald Dong, he was just a Miracle Hand Doctor—yet the head of the Capitalview Su family, Victor, didn’t dare slack off for a second.

All along the way, plenty of people came up hoping to chat and get close, but Gary Liu ignored almost all of them. The ones he brushed off looked awkward but didn’t dare get angry, just shuffled away.

Seeing this, Leo Liu felt even more fired up, sticking close to his brother and feeling totally confident.

"Actually, bro, there is one thing I need your help with!"

A name suddenly popped into Leo’s mind. He clenched his teeth, face full of resentment.

"Oh? Tell me about it," Gary Liu paused, then looked at Leo. "Just say the person’s name, don’t worry about anything else. With one word from me, there’s plenty of people in all of Capitalview who’d help out."

"If he pissed you off, I can break his legs, break his hands, or even erase him from the world—whatever you want. I can make him kneel and beg for forgiveness right in front of you."

Gary Liu’s tone was relaxed and casual, almost playful.

That made Ivy Liang, who’d been cold-faced the whole time, frown a little, feeling a mix of annoyance and worry.

She didn’t like Evan Lin at all, but he was still a schoolmate. In Ivy’s eyes, Evan’s worst was being annoying—he didn’t deserve to have his hands or legs broken, let alone be wiped off the map.

Leo was stunned for a second, then hesitated. "No need to break hands or legs. That guy’s just way too cocky. I just want him to apologize—and if possible, let me slap him twice myself."

As Leo spoke, he thought of Lynn Chen, the girl he liked who kept ignoring him and seemed to prefer Evan Lin. That made him even more upset.

But when it came to really crippling or killing Evan, Leo couldn’t go through with it. It just felt like too much.

"Don’t worry about it. Breaking a few bones is just to teach him a lesson. As for the rest, leave it to me," Gary Liu sneered. "You’re my little brother, Leo. How could I let anyone bully you? You don’t need to feel guilty. In my eyes, that guy’s no different from an ant!"

Gary’s wild words made everyone nearby shudder and instinctively back away, afraid of crossing a Miracle Hand second-grade Little Doctor. If he crushed you, who could you even complain to?

Hearing Gary’s words, Leo was still a little hesitant. He glanced at Ivy Liang beside him without thinking.

But just then, Ivy wasn’t looking his way at all.

A flash of shock and surprise crossed her usually cool face.

Noticing Leo looking at her, Ivy quickly looked away, grabbed his arm, and said, "How about we go find something to eat first? I’m kind of hungry."

Ivy spoke fast.

Leo didn’t answer, but followed Ivy’s gaze.

The next second, Leo’s face froze, then turned dark.

"What’s wrong, Leo? Do you know those people?" Gary Liu noticed something was off and looked over too.

He squinted and saw, not far away, four people gathered together.

Four guys and one girl.

None of them had Miracle Hand Sect tokens on their waists.

They must’ve come here just to try and buy some pills.

"That’s him! That guy in Capitalview kept disrespecting me, and even made me lose face more than once! I can’t believe he showed up here!" Leo was grinding his teeth in hate.

He stared at Evan Lin in the crowd, eyes practically shooting fire.

Ivy’s expression changed. "I’m really hungry. Let’s go eat first."

She’d been surprised when she first spotted Evan Lin too.

But remembering Gary Liu’s words, Ivy worried he really might cripple or even kill Evan Lin, so she tried to drag Leo and Gary away as fast as possible.

But it was too late—they’d already noticed him.

"Eating can wait. Solving my brother’s problem comes first," Gary Liu grinned, eyes full of mischief.

Then he turned and strode straight toward Evan Lin and his group.

Everyone along the way automatically made room for Gary Liu, and plenty of them looked at Evan’s group with pity.

In the Miracle Hand alchemist conference, ticking off a Miracle Hand Little Doctor—especially a second-grade one—was basically asking for death!

"Let me tell you, just getting here is already a huge stroke of luck for someone like you. And you want to sell pills here? Who are you trying to fool? What, you gonna claim your pills can make people ascend to heaven? Give me a break! What a joke!" Richard Si stared at Evan’s face, laughing loudly.

He was loud and full of contempt. Chen Junying was grinning too, joining in the ridicule.

"Make way."

Richard had just finished his rant when a haughty voice sounded behind him.

"Who the hell are you telling to move? Can’t you see I’m talking here? There’s plenty of space—why don’t you go around?" Richard, a rich kid from Oceanport, was on a roll and got interrupted, so he snapped back without thinking.

He spun around, face full of anger—only to be met with a crisp, no-nonsense slap.
