During breakfast, Ian Song asked Hannah Han what kind of car she liked.
Hannah thought for a moment and said, "How about buying a Panda QQ?"
Hearing this, Ian's face immediately darkened.
The Panda QQ she mentioned was also a domestic car, and a low-end one at that, suitable for working-class people. Its price ranged from thirty thousand to a hundred thousand yuan.
"Hannah, you're the dignified president. I really don't think you should drive a Panda QQ."
"What's wrong with being president? Can't a president drive a Panda QQ?" Hannah protested.
Suddenly, Ian had an idea. "How about this? We buy two cars—one for business, one for personal use. For the company car, let's get a Mercedes. You can use it for business occasions, since as president you represent the face of our boutique. If you drive a cheap car, people will look down on you. For your private car, we'll go with your choice—the Panda QQ."
Hannah agreed, thinking Ian made sense and stopped insisting. She nodded, "By the way, Ian, maybe we should get Vivian a car too. She's been working really hard."
"Sure, let's get her a car too, within two million yuan," Ian agreed immediately.
So after breakfast, the two of them headed straight to the 4S dealership.
Because Ian drove his Phantom S1 to the dealership, the sales consultant was especially enthusiastic.
"Sir, Miss, which car would you like to see?"
The sales consultant serving Ian and Hannah was a pretty woman around twenty-four or twenty-five.
"Do you have the Panda QQ?" Hannah asked.
Hearing Hannah’s question, the saleswoman was briefly stunned—coming in a Phantom S1 to buy a Panda QQ...
But she quickly regained her professional smile. "Yes, we do. Please follow me!"
After listening to the saleswoman’s introduction, Hannah decided on the QQA3 model priced at just over seventy thousand yuan. The car was compact, fuel-efficient, and automatic—perfect for a woman driver.
"Hannah!"
Hearing someone call her, Hannah turned to see a tall woman with heavy makeup and a revealing outfit.
After a brief moment of surprise, Hannah remembered—the woman was Yolanda Huang, her former college dormmate. Yolanda had dropped out in junior year, so it had been years since they’d met, which explained why Hannah didn’t immediately recognize her.
"Yolanda, it's you!" Hannah smiled.
Yolanda chuckled, "Haha, I thought I was mistaken. I can't believe it's really you. By the way, I heard from Lily Ye that after college you became a high school English teacher. Are you still teaching now?"
"No, I just quit not long ago," Hannah replied with a smile.
"Good for you! Teaching doesn't pay much and it's exhausting," Yolanda said, then pulled the short, chubby young man beside her over. "This is Victor Li, my boyfriend. He's a sales manager at a real estate company. Victor, this is Hannah Han, my college dormmate and our campus beauty."
Victor's eyes lit up and he quickly extended his hand, smiling warmly. "So you're Miss Han! Yolanda told me you took care of her in school. Let me thank you on her behalf."
Back in college, Hannah and Yolanda weren't actually that close; Yolanda was often out all night, so there wasn't much 'taking care.' Victor was just being polite, so Hannah smiled courteously. "Hello, Mr. Li."
Afterward, Hannah introduced Ian to Victor and Yolanda.
After a bit of small talk, Yolanda suddenly changed the subject. "Hannah, are you here to buy a car?"
"Yes," Hannah nodded.
"So, which model are you planning to get?" Yolanda continued.
"Panda QQA3," Hannah replied.
When she heard Hannah was buying a Panda QQ, Yolanda’s face showed a hint of pride. She curled her lip and said, "The Panda QQ is a domestic car. Sure, it’s cheap and fuel-efficient, but the model isn’t very attractive and the quality isn’t great. After two years, all sorts of problems start popping up."
Oh, and Victor’s buying me a car today too. I picked out a Volkswagen CC, which goes for around three hundred thousand yuan. I didn’t really want anything that expensive, but Victor just couldn’t bear to wrong me."
By the end, Yolanda was clearly showing off.
"Congratulations on finding a good husband," Hannah said calmly, showing no sign of envy.
Seeing Hannah’s indifferent expression, Yolanda felt a bit deflated. Suddenly, she glanced at Ian. "Hey, handsome, where do you work?"
"I’m not working yet. I’m still in school," Ian replied with a smile.
Yolanda was briefly stunned, then teased, "Wow, Hannah, so you’re dating a younger guy! I never would’ve guessed."
"You never know where fate will lead," Hannah replied nonchalantly. "Yolanda, let’s catch up later—I need to finish signing the contract."
Yolanda nodded. "Sure, that works. I’m buying a car today too, so let’s sign together! Afterward, we can have lunch—it's been years since we met, we should really catch up."
Soon, two sales consultants arrived, each carrying a purchase contract.
While Hannah was signing, Ian quietly called the saleswoman aside and said in a low voice, "I also want to buy a Mercedes around three million and an Audi around two million. Do you have any recommendations?"
"What?" The saleswoman was surprised to hear Ian wanted to buy two more cars. She looked delighted and felt glad she’d treated Ian and Hannah well earlier.
"Mr. Song, for a Mercedes around three million, I recommend this year’s latest model... As for an Audi around two million, let me suggest..."
After hearing her suggestions, Ian didn’t hesitate and placed the orders right away.
"Mr. Song, would you like to sign the contracts for these two cars today?" she asked.
"Not today. I’ll pay a two-million deposit now, and settle the rest when I pick up the cars. Go ahead and process this, and include the Panda QQ in the bill," Ian said, handing her a credit card.
When his bank balance reached a certain level, the bank proactively issued him a credit card with a fifty-million yuan limit.
"Certainly, please wait a moment!"
After paying, the four of them left the dealership together.
Yolanda pulled Hannah over and pointed at a black Audi A6. "That’s Victor’s car. By the way, does your boyfriend drive?"
"He does," Hannah nodded.
"What kind of car?" Yolanda asked, a bit surprised.
"Over there—a domestic car," Hannah said, pointing to the Phantom S1 parked a few meters away. Coincidentally, a Great Wall H6 was parked next to it, so Yolanda instinctively assumed that was Ian’s car and said, "The Great Wall H6 isn’t bad."
She said it was 'not bad,' but her eyes clearly showed a trace of disdain.
