Life Begets Death

Hugh Hayes felt a chill in his heart. He was all too familiar with Cauldron Haven, the Free Immortal City. Here, he could walk wherever he pleased—even Miles Silent, the city lord, wouldn't dare utter a word against him. But now, when did such a powerful figure arrive in Cauldron Haven? Someone who could grab him by the throat and lift him into the air?

Even Nate Shee, the number one expert of the Four Great Immortal Continents, couldn't pull off such a feat.

"Senior, we are the ones under Peace Inn's protection. Earlier, it was Ian Yan who gravely injured us and chased us here." Lana Stone hurriedly stepped forward and bowed to Joe Di.

She hadn’t expected it either—her own master, an Immortal Emperor at the sixth tier and Thundercrest Sect’s Elder, was being lifted by the neck like a chick.

Joe Di said coolly, "Peace Inn never protects anyone. The only rule here is that no one is allowed to fight—nothing more."

Even Ian Yan could now see the truth. He’d thought before that Peace Inn would protect anyone as long as they had immortal crystals, regardless of right or wrong. Now he understood: all cultivators who entered here were forbidden from fighting. Hugh Hayes was the example.

Thinking of this, he quickly bowed to Joe Di. "Senior, these two slaughtered my entire family—four hundred and thirty-one people, including infants and pregnant women. All because my Yan family possessed a body refinement manual."

Joe Di stared coldly at Jing Stone and Lana Stone. "You two slaughtered an entire family—young and old—just for a body refinement manual?"

Lana Stone was taken aback. In her mind, this was nothing out of the ordinary—such things happened all the time in Thundercrest Sect.

But she could clearly see that Joe Di disapproved of such things, so she quickly bowed and said, "Senior, I am from Thundercrest Sect. At first, I was only carrying out a sect mission to have the Yan family hand over the body refinement manual. But they stubbornly refused, ignored Thundercrest Sect, and even insulted us—so I took action..."

Joe Di sneered, "Thundercrest Sect, Thundercrest Sect—do you think you're so mighty? You can't even bear a single insult? Not long ago, I killed one of your Thundercrest Sect's own, Jed Carey. What, is Thundercrest Sect planning to overturn the heavens now?"

Zhong Ao, hearing Joe Di say this, simply tossed Hugh Hayes aside. Before Hugh Hayes even hit the ground, Joe Di raised his hand and hurled a long blade.

The long blade, empowered by the Peace Plaza Deathtrap Array, pierced straight through Hugh Hayes's brow, nailing him to the void outside Peace Plaza.

"Ah..." Jing Stone and Lana Stone were stunned, watching as an Elder of Thundercrest Sect at the sixth tier of Immortal Emperor was nailed to death by Joe Di. Someone actually dared to kill their sect's Elder—someone actually dared!

Ever since they joined Thundercrest Sect, they'd never heard of anyone daring to lay a hand on its disciples, much less an Elder. Thundercrest Sect is the number one immortal sect on Thundercrest Continent!

In fact, they'd already been simmering with anger after being hunted by Ian Yan. They were disciples of Thundercrest Sect, yet even someone like Ian Yan could chase them down and block them at Peace Inn. This was not only their own humiliation—it was Thundercrest Sect's disgrace as well.

"Big Brother..."

"Brother Di..."

Sprout, Blackfire, and Quentin Pooler hurried out, anxious and loyal.

Joe Di spoke coldly, "It is true that Peace Plaza forbids fighting, but that doesn't mean we protect every piece of trash. From now on, creatures like this are absolutely forbidden from stepping into Peace Inn—let alone being protected here."

Quentin Pooler realized he had made a mistake. In his mind, as long as a cultivator set foot in Peace Inn, they were under its protection. But now, he understood Joe Di’s true intent: cultivators who entered Peace Inn were forbidden from fighting, but Peace Inn would never shelter those shameless scoundrels who slaughtered innocents.

"Yes, I understand now," Quentin Pooler quickly replied, cupping his fists in respect.

Joe Di nodded, his gaze icy as he stared at Jing Stone and Lana Stone. "Get out. Peace Inn has no place for trash like you."

Even though they feared being hunted down by Ian Yan, Jing Stone and Lana Stone could only flee Peace Plaza as quickly as possible. After all, even Thundercrest Sect elders Jed Carey and Hugh Hayes had been slain—they were less than ants in comparison.

Seeing Jing Stone and Lana Stone escape, Ian Yan immediately gave chase.

With the power of an Immortal King, Ian Yan faced only late-stage Da Luo Immortals like Jing Stone and Lana Stone. He didn’t need Joe Di’s help at all. As soon as the two stepped out of Peace Plaza, Ian Yan intercepted them and, in a flash, killed them both.

From afar, Miles Silent understood that Joe Di had tacitly allowed this. Even if Ian Yan killed Thundercrest Sect disciples in Cauldron Haven, Miles Silent wouldn’t utter a single word against it.

......

As Joe Di and Zhong Ao worked to repair the teleportation array to the Four Immortal Continents, word of Joe Di’s deeds had already swept across the entire starry sky.

After Joe Di slew the Crescent Chamber of Commerce’s president Bai Ye and elder Jude Yue, the organization was immediately dissolved. But what truly sent shockwaves through the world was that Joe Di had killed Eugene Xiling, the master of the Unending Immortal Sect, taught a harsh lesson to Marlon Jace of the Star Demon Palace and Leon Yue of the Skycloud Dao Sect, and even slain Thundercrest Sect elders Jed Carey and Hugh Hayes.
