Phones Should Be Replaced When It’s Time

"Ms. Huang, Director Deng."

Joy Zheng wiped the sweat from her forehead and gave a quick greeting.

"Oh, I told you, you could've ended class ten minutes early this morning. No need to rush over like this, trying to make it on time. What if something happened on the road?"

Seeing Joy Zheng looking a bit flustered, Flora Huang walked over with a teasing, half-scolding smile.

Earlier that morning, Flora Huang had scheduled her own two periods of Chinese tutoring at the front, while Joy Zheng's class was pushed to the end.

When she left, Flora Huang had even reminded Joy Zheng that she could finish early if she wanted.

"That won't do," Joy Zheng shook her head seriously. "Remedial class time is precious—the students already have weak foundations. No matter what, we can't cut their lesson time. It's not good for their grades."

Hearing this, Flora Huang just laughed and didn't argue. She nodded, "Go on in and take a seat."

Once Joy Zheng headed inside toward her table, Flora Huang pursed her lips and muttered quietly, "Joy's just too stubborn. Things could be so much easier, but she insists on making everything so rigid."

"No wonder she's been stuck at the second-tier teaching title all these years," Flora Huang added in a low voice. "Works so hard at teaching, but doesn't care about anything else. How can that get her anywhere?"

In the teaching profession, after two years on the job you automatically get a second-tier teacher title. But if you want to move up to first-tier or even senior level, it's not just about solid teaching skills—you need connections too.

The benefits between each rank are pretty significant. Right now, Flora Huang is already waiting for her senior title evaluation—just her monthly salary alone is nearly a thousand yuan higher than Joy Zheng's.

After Flora Huang finished speaking, she noticed Victor Deng standing nearby, frowning. Realizing she shouldn't say too much, she quickly shut up.

Beside her, Ivy Deng listened to Flora Huang's words, already used to her mother's attitude, and kept playing with her phone.

Meanwhile, Joy Zheng took her seat at the table.

This table was pretty close to the main table—Flora Huang had arranged it that way on purpose. She wanted her fellow teachers to see just how close she was to the center of attention.

"Ms. Zheng, you're here! I was worried you'd be late."

As soon as Joy Zheng sat down, one of the teachers at her table teased her with a grin.

"By the way, where's Evan? I heard he's back—hasn't he arrived yet?"

Another female teacher asked curiously.
