The Unfalsifiable's Lair Cannot Be Faked

A month later, Joe Di was forced to leave this place.

For Joe Di, the gains from this past month far surpassed everything he had achieved before.

During these days, not only did he gain a more intuitive understanding of Dao cultivation, but he also developed a new perspective on martial cultivation. The four Dao spells, combined with the Third Blade and Fourth Blade techniques, had increased his strength several times over compared to a month ago.

The only regret was that Joe Di hadn't found a way to stand in midair for over ten seconds. Based on the hand seals and qi circulation methods of the four spells, he devised a technique that allowed him to glide two zhang in the air and pause for one to two seconds.

Although this method was far inferior to the white-haired man's ability to remain airborne for ten seconds, it was still crucial to Joe Di's improvement.

Dai City is located at the northernmost edge of China. It was not a prosperous place originally, but after diamond and jade mines were discovered on its outskirts in 2030, the city suddenly flourished.

After years of development, Dai City's diamond market has become world-famous.

As soon as Joe Di entered Dai City, he felt the foreign atmosphere here. People of all skin colors walked the streets, and the languages spoken were a chaotic mix.

When Joe Di arrived in Dai City, night had already fallen. He had no intention of finding a place to stay; he came here for one purpose only—to eliminate Quentin Jia, The Unfalsifiable.

To Joe Di, the Immortal Villas in Lakeview District’s Third Bridge were even more beautiful than Taymoon Isle. Even at night, under the scattered lights, he could appreciate the elegant scenery here.

Even though the place was heavily guarded, with Joe Di’s current abilities, he easily found Quentin Jia’s residence.

He had come here precisely to eliminate Quentin Jia, so he simply disguised himself as a middle-aged man, making sure the cameras couldn’t identify him directly.

As for whether he’d be traced later, Joe Di didn’t care at all. What if they did? He wouldn’t be staying on Earth much longer anyway—once he took care of The Unfalsifiable and got some money, he’d repair his aircraft and be ready to head to Celestia whenever he wished.

Joe Di had never visited Benson Ji’s home, but after entering Quentin Jia’s villa, he guessed that even the Ji Family’s courtyard couldn’t compare to this luxury. Quentin Jia’s villa was the epitome of extravagance, with three or four swimming pools and all kinds of leisure and sports facilities, plus a meticulously divided orchard.

Soon, Joe Di found Quentin Jia’s massive bedroom on the top floor of the villa. The bed alone was about three meters long and wide. Every piece of furniture was custom-made from top-quality wood—this level of luxury surpassed even the place Joe Di had stayed at in Pearl City.

It looked like Quentin Jia was out—Joe Di just didn’t know when he’d be back.

With Quentin Jia absent, Joe Di had no intention of waiting around endlessly. He immediately jumped down from the window and quickly found a maid’s room.

Joe Di planned to question the maid directly, but to his surprise, he found two people embracing inside, their hurried breaths letting him know the maid was secretly meeting someone.

“Wait, turn off the light first. If someone sees us, we’re doomed.” A soft female voice came from the room.

A slightly hoarse male voice followed, saying, “Tonight, Master Jia went to Grand Crescent and took a lot of people with him—I saw it myself at the door. He definitely won’t be back tonight. Besides, Little Niu is watching the entrance for me. It’s fine.”

“Mm…” The woman clearly wasn’t interested in what Quentin Jia was doing at Grand Crescent, and the lights quickly went out.

Joe Di gave up on questioning further. Now that he knew Quentin Jia was at Grand Crescent, things were much simpler. He returned to Quentin Jia’s room—since the man wasn’t home, he might as well loot the place.

Right now, he was flat broke. Running into a fat sheep like Quentin Jia, he figured he’d follow Echo Young’s example and pocket a little fortune for himself.

There wasn’t a single cheap item in Quentin Jia’s room—everything was top of the line. To Joe Di, though, it was all junk and he tossed it everywhere. What he was after were the things Quentin Jia had stashed away. Rumor had it Quentin Jia had been to Celestia; Joe Di refused to believe he hadn’t brought back something good.

In just a short time, Joe Di found a safe. It looked just like a wardrobe from the outside, and stood over two meters tall.

Joe Di had no intention of unlocking the safe—he simply drew his wrapped long blade, gathered true essence onto it, and slashed down with a single strike. The blade edge was already ruined, and after finishing Quentin Jia, he planned to discard it anyway. Using it to break open the safe didn’t bother him at all.

Clang! Joe Di’s strike chopped off half the safe, and a jet-black beam shot out, followed by a sharp crack.

Joe Di had already anticipated this; he dodged in a flash, and the black beam grazed his clothes before shooting into the opposite wall.

Impressive—even without looking, Joe Di knew that black beam was laced with deadly poison.

Then Joe Di saw a camera inside the safe. Apparently, that sharp click earlier was the camera capturing his face.

Joe Di wasn’t concerned about that at all—his only interest was in what the safe contained.

Before Joe Di could check the safe, a blaring alarm sounded outside.

This guy was really cautious. Not wanting to kill any small fry, Joe Di grabbed all the boxes from the safe and stuffed them into his large backpack. With a flash, he leapt off the balcony.

Before he even hit the ground, Joe Di saw several beams of light rushing toward him. He ignored the security guards, gathered his qi, vaulted a few times, and dashed straight out of the villa’s perimeter, quickly disappearing into the distance.

......

An hour later, Joe Di stepped out of a taxi—he’d arrived at Grand Crescent.

Several hundred meters from Grand Crescent, Joe Di could clearly see its name lit up in three giant characters.

Beneath those three characters was a dramatic, human-shaped gate. Even before he got close, Joe Di could feel the lively atmosphere.

Standing under the Grand Crescent sign, he could see all sorts of commercial buildings inside, and the streets were crowded with people. The diamond and jade shops were the most luxurious and popular.

Joe Di was momentarily stunned—how was he supposed to find Quentin Jia in a place like this? Should he go back and interrogate the guy with the maid? He quickly dismissed the idea; that man was probably just a guard and wouldn’t know where Quentin Jia was in Grand Crescent.

Just as Joe Di was considering how to ask around for Quentin Jia’s whereabouts, he noticed a huge billboard by the gate.

“Today marks the opening of the Grand Crescent Taiping Cup International Boxing Tournament, held at the Grand Crescent International Boxing Arena…” After that were the names of the first match’s boxing stars, their records, and some details about the rules, time, and location.

If it weren’t for the name Taiping, Joe Di wouldn’t have guessed it was The Unfalsifiable’s doing. Now that it’s the Taiping Cup, he was certain Quentin Jia was behind it.

He hadn’t expected The Unfalsifiable’s underground black boxing Taiping Arena to get shut down because of him, and now the guy had organized a public boxing tournament.

With this kind of popularity, the public tournament might end up even more profitable than the underground one. The Unfalsifiable really had a knack for business.

The Taiping Cup International Boxing Arena was easy to find—Joe Di just followed the roadside signs. In fact, plenty of people were headed there, and Joe Di soon arrived outside a massive diamond-shaped building, topped by a circular ring.

Under the lights, the diamond-shaped building looked magnificent, and with the circular ring above, from afar it resembled a giant upside-down diamond ring. Joe Di had to admire The Unfalsifiable’s taste in designing a building like this.

At the entrance, more giant illuminated characters read: Dai International Boxing Arena.

(Yesterday I recommended The Strongest Abandoned Son, and saw many comments saying I’m shameless. I’m very angry—how can you say that? What does ‘shameless’ mean? You need a face to be shameless! I don’t have a face, so how can I be shameless… You used the wrong words. When it comes to scholars, how can you call it stealing? No, it’s about face… The rest is just classical gibberish, so I won’t bother explaining. Anyway, I still recommend The Strongest Abandoned Son….)
