Yina Yin said to the Chief Secretary, "Look, even President Fan doesn't care for this proposal. How could Minister Fang have the nerve to bring it to me?"
The Chief Secretary whispered, "Actually, there were other proposals from the Planning Department, but Minister Fang shot them all down..."
Both Yina Yin and Winston Fan understood the Chief Secretary's implication.
Minister Fang was afraid that someone beneath him would surpass him, so he intercepted others' work and pushed his own proposal forward.
Tsk tsk.
Winston Fan chuckled softly, "It seems Minister Fang has quite the background, even Miss Yin is having trouble with him."
"He does have some connections, but he can't really tie my hands." Yina Yin paused briefly, then turned to the Chief Secretary and said, "Send a notice to the Planning Department. I want everyone involved—whether they're full-time staff or interns. As long as someone can submit a decent proposal, the company will reward them, and interns can be promoted early. Also, all proposals should bypass Minister Fang and come directly to me through you."
"Yes, Miss Yin," the Chief Secretary answered quickly.
"Cherry has been busy these days and can't handle everything. Notify the general managers of Wuyang Corp, Lantian Enterprises, KOP Holdings, and Fanni Group to report directly to me." Yina Yin closed her folder and instructed, "For the next few days, all documents will be signed by me."
"Understood, Miss Yin," the Chief Secretary replied quickly.
These five companies were part of the dowry Cecilia Gu gave her.
Although her engagement to Miles Gu was no longer valid, she still had to manage the dowry.
After the Chief Secretary left, Winston Fan said, "Even though my family's business is unrelated to your companies, I know a great headhunter who can help you find top management talent. Want me to introduce you?"
"It's easy to conquer a country, but hard to govern it. Good talent is like walking gold. If you have the right people, that's the best." Yina Yin smiled at Winston Fan, "Then I won't be polite."
"As long as you don't mind me meddling." Winston Fan immediately pulled out his phone and made a call.
Actually, even without Winston Fan's help, just mentioning Yina Yin's name would bring a flood of talent, all hoping she'd take them in.
Winston Fan understood this, too.
But when you have a choice, not doing something makes you seem distant. Doing it makes you seem warm.
So Winston Fan chose to help.
As he walked back with Yina Yin, Winston Fan started talking about his business philosophy and shared his experiences with her.
So the two quickly started talking about management and business operations.
Winston Fan was surprised to discover that Yina Yin was full of ideas. She seemed carefree on the outside, but her mind was sharp and quick, able to keep up with his pace easily.
Winston Fan was famous for being a workaholic. Not only did he work nonstop himself, but his subordinates were always busy too. So he rarely interacted with women of his own social class.
So he subconsciously assumed that heiresses might know a bit about business, but wouldn't be truly skilled.
But after talking with Yina Yin, Winston Fan realized he was wrong.
Yina Yin's business philosophy was not only as good as his, but she even saw further ahead.
This made Winston Fan, who was already thinking about marriage, even more interested in Yina Yin.
They kept chatting until someone approached, and only then did they reluctantly stop.
Yina Yin said, "I used to be busy with my studies, so most company matters were handled by Cherry. But every decision still had to go through me. That means I only saw the final results, not the details along the way. What you said today reminded me: since I'm the boss, I don't need to do everything myself, but I should know the important details. Looks like I need to call a meeting. Thanks for today."
"Not at all! Even if I didn't mention it, you'd realize it sooner or later. After all, you have the kind of all-around assistant every boss envies!" Winston Fan sighed, "Cherry is like ten people in one—none of my staff can compare to her."
Yina Yin was very pleased to hear Winston Fan praise Cherry. She nodded and said, "Speaking of Cherry, I really have no shame about it. Twenty percent of my companies' success is thanks to my parents' background, but the other eighty percent is all Cherry's hard work."
"I've heard the stories—Cherry turned a company with only thirty million in registered capital into a business worth over a billion in just three years. That's impressive!" Winston Fan said sincerely, "With Cherry's help, Miss Yin's companies are practically guaranteed to succeed."
"Hahahaha!" Yina Yin laughed heartily and said, "We all took business management classes together, but Cherry always got the best grades. Even my brother, who's so proud, admits Cherry was the best."
"Stop! The more you say, the more I want to poach her." Winston Fan joked, "Too bad I'm not as handsome as Ethan Yin. Otherwise, I'd use my looks to steal her away."
"That's a real shame—Cherry can't be poached. She's destined to be our family's daughter-in-law." Yina Yin joked, "But you can reserve a spot for the next generation. Maybe our kids could marry."
Winston Fan looked at Yina Yin meaningfully and said, "It's still a generation apart—better to become relatives directly."
In other words, being relatives is better than being in-laws.
That confession was pretty direct.
Yina Yin wasn't clueless—she understood what Winston Fan meant, but pretended not to notice. Smiling, she said, "I'm all sweaty from running around, but Winston Fan doesn't mind and chatted with me the whole way. I'll go shower first, dinner's about to start."
"Alright, go ahead." Winston Fan nodded gracefully. "See you at the table."
Because there were so many people at breakfast, they chose a buffet style.
Everyone could get their own food or ask a servant for help, then pick a favorite spot—eat alone or with friends.
By the time Yina Yin came down, some people had already started eating.
Yina Yin picked up a plate of pasta, but just as she did, someone put a bowl of bird’s nest porridge on her tray.
Yina Yin looked up and saw Shawn Yan smiling gently at her. "You burned a lot of energy this morning, so you need more protein. This bird’s nest is great—top choice for high-quality protein."
"Didn’t you stay up late last night? How are you up so early?" Yina Yin accepted the bird’s nest and asked, "Did you get up just to make this porridge?"
"Correct." Shawn Yan seemed a little shy and lowered his head. "I’ve been eating bird’s nest since I was a kid—it’s really nourishing. My mom was worried I wouldn’t like the local bird’s nest, so she brought extra."
Cecilia Gu also ate bird’s nest regularly for her health, so Yina Yin knew quite a bit about it.
With just a glance, Yina Yin could tell the bird’s nest was top quality—worth a fortune.
"Thanks," Yina Yin said, accepting it with a cheerful smile.
The two of them sat by the window, laughing and chatting as they ate.
Shawn Yan ate slowly, making the meal look almost artistic.
Yina Yin was used to her brother Ethan Yin and Miles Gu’s stunning looks, but even she had to admit Winston Fan was exceptionally refined.
He was truly a feast for the eyes.
There you are! Gavin Gao came over with his tray and naturally sat next to Yina Yin. "Hey, why didn’t I see any bird’s nest?"
Yina Yin said, "Shawn brought it himself. It’s not easy to find this variety."
Gavin Gao exclaimed, "Young Master Shawn really is refined."
In other words, Shawn Yan was too delicate—almost feminine.
