If I Cannot Have It, I Will Destroy It

At this moment, Roxanne Lin said, "Second Sister, why don't you wait here and I'll ask Evan to come over?"

"Don't try to trick me. If you dare deceive me, I'll die right in front of you and make you feel guilty for the rest of your life, because you're the one who stole my man," Sophia Lin said.

Roxanne felt completely at a loss for words. She couldn't tell if her luck was just bad or if Sophia was truly so pitiful it made people sympathize. She soon left her sister's room, feeling much lighter.

At that moment, Evan Chu was in Damon Lin's room, taking out a pile of rare pills and Starstones for him. "These pills and Starstones will be a huge help to you. Now that Roxanne counts as a true top-tier expert, she's crucial for your Lin Family's development. Don't hesitate any longer—just accept them as a token of our goodwill!"

Damon Lin had probably never seen so many Starstones and pills in his life—especially pills, which were so rare they were practically priceless. To him, pills felt even more precious than Starstones.

"Isn't this too valuable? You should keep them for yourself!" Damon Lin said politely, trying to refuse.

"If I'm giving them to you, it means I've got plenty more. Just take them—if you don't, Roxanne will be upset," Evan Chu said. He knew Damon Lin was hesitating because of his own status, so he had to use Roxanne to pressure him.

Just then, Roxanne's voice came from outside the door: "Evan, come out and go with me to see Second Sister. Something must've happened—she's acting a little off."

Evan Chu walked out of the room and asked, "What's wrong with her? If she can eat and sleep, that's good enough. I don't feel like seeing her."

Roxanne naturally didn't know what had happened before. Seeing Evan's cold attitude, she said, "She's my Second Sister, which makes her your Second Sister too. Are you really going to ignore even my request?"

Evan was a little surprised by this. Roxanne was usually gentle and graceful, but now she showed a rare fierce side. If he didn't go, she'd definitely be upset, and since it was so rare for them to be together, he could only agree reluctantly.

"Alright, let's go see your Second Sister. That way you won't be angry, right?" Evan said with a bitter smile.

The two of them went to Sophia Lin's room. At that moment, Sophia was sitting at her dressing table, carefully putting on makeup. The table in front of her was loaded with food and wine. When she saw Evan and Roxanne come in, she smiled and said, "Evan, Roxanne, you're here! Have a seat, I've already prepared food and wine. Let's have a good drink today—I'll be ready in a moment!"

Roxanne was a little shocked. It had only been a short while, yet Sophia had already prepared everything. Her speed was almost unnerving.

Sophia's words and demeanor seemed perfectly normal, which made Evan glance at Roxanne in confusion. He couldn't understand why Roxanne thought her sister was mentally unstable. Was Sophia just pretending? If so, her scheming ran deep.

"Second Sister, I've brought Evan like you wanted. You're not going to talk about dying anymore, right?" Roxanne said helplessly. Sophia's behavior really did seem odd.

"Heh, what are you saying? Your Second Sister is standing here just fine, isn't she? You disappeared for three years and didn't even come back to see Dad or me. Got yourself a husband and forgot your family, huh?" Sophia said, now finished with her makeup and walking over.

But instead of sitting by Roxanne, she sat down next to Evan, her eyes hungry and intense as she looked at him, making people uneasy.

She immediately poured wine for Evan and Roxanne, then filled her own glass and said, "Let's drink this first to celebrate our reunion after three years."

After speaking, she raised her glass and drained it in one go. Evan and Roxanne didn't want to spoil her mood, so they reluctantly raised their glasses and drank as well.

After Evan and Roxanne drank their wine, a cold, sinister smile briefly flashed across Sophia's face. Though it was fleeting, Evan caught it, and he couldn't understand why she'd smile like that.

"Second Sister, just say whatever's on your mind. Evan and I don't know when we'll be back again. If I've ever offended you in the past, I hope you'll let it go. We're sisters, after all, so let's not hold grudges," Roxanne said.

Sophia glanced at Evan and Roxanne, then said, "Since Roxanne put it that way, I'll be direct—I like Evan. I want to serve him together with you. Ever since that day at the City Lord's Mansion, he's been all I think about. Only a man like Evan is worthy of me, Sophia Lin. Roxanne, you won't refuse, will you?"

Evan's forehead was covered in metaphorical black lines. This woman was truly out of her mind, obsessed with him for no reason. Even if every woman in the world died, he'd never want her—especially since she was already damaged goods.

"Sophia Lin, I'm not agreeing to this. For Roxanne's sake, I won't hold it against you, but I don't want to hear about it again. If you behave yourself, you'll still be Roxanne's Second Sister. If you keep pestering me, I'll make your life miserable. Suit yourself!" Evan said, then stood up to leave.

"Second Sister, Evan's words are mine too. He's not a man just any woman can have. Don't forget, you're a remarried woman. If someone like him, the Grand Protector-General, took you in now, how could he hold his head high? I really don't get how you've changed so much. You used to oppose marrying Evan, but now you want him so badly. Is it just because he's successful now?" Roxanne said.

"Fine, go ahead and leave! But if you dare walk out that door, I'll make sure you feel guilty for life. Anything Sophia Lin can't have, no one else will get either," Sophia said.

"Are you planning something stupid?" Roxanne asked immediately. She knew her sister's temper—if she couldn't have something, she'd destroy it without hesitation, even if it was something she loved most.

"Heh, don't worry. Even if I die, you'll be coming with me. We all just drank poisoned wine—I paid a fortune for it, and there's no cure in the world. Evan Chu, I couldn't have you in life, but dying together with you isn't so bad."

"I really underestimated you back then—I didn't realize you were a real man. Roxanne, that ugly freak, got lucky. Are you regretting things now? Hahaha!" Sophia said, laughing wildly.

Evan and Roxanne were both shocked—neither expected Sophia to pull such a stunt. Just then, Sophia suddenly vomited blood and collapsed to the floor...
