Chapter 1117: Alchemical Device

After melting together numerous rare magical metals, they were fused into a single platform, then inscribed with an abundance of glyphs. The alchemical patterns were carved directly onto its surface. Across the entire platform, only a one-meter section at the center bore just over a dozen glyphs—everywhere else was so densely packed with runes it seemed as if they were crowding each other out.

Boros, the mage of the Shadow Tower, sat atop the alchemical device, his face flushed with excitement—tinged with a hint of nervousness, but far more with anticipation and thrill.

Looking down at the crowd of mages below, each wearing a complicated expression, Boros couldn’t help but smile.

Who would’ve thought the first to use this alchemical device for the Final Transcendental Transformation would be me? Lord Diras truly deserves my loyalty. Of all those here, only I, who have followed Lord Diras the longest, received this precious opportunity.

This is a drop of Beast God's Blood, after all—and a hundred Pseudo Sky Rank Mana Crystals. All this time, we haven’t exchanged anything at the temple, only managed to accumulate just over a hundred and twenty crystals. Who knows how long it’ll take to gather another hundred for the next attempt.

There are fewer and fewer Pseudo Sky Rank Beasts left in the Blazeforge Battlefield. The deeper we go, the scarcer they become—and who knows when those damned orcs will launch another attack.

It’s entirely possible I’ll be the first to complete the Final Transcendental Transformation—and also the last...

Lord Diras is simply too clever—teaming up with the Burning Tower was the wisest decision made in years!

The Burning Tower truly lives up to its reputation as an ancient mage faction with ten thousand years of heritage—developing this intricate alchemical device so quickly.

A true masterpiece—worthy of a Worldshaper. This alchemical device is undoubtedly the greatest achievement in the Northend World since the Elder Age.

Heh, just look at those people below—every face full of envy and jealousy. Especially those fools not chosen by Lord Diras; their eyes are practically spitting fire.

Go ahead, envy and resent all you want. Once I break through to Sky Rank, you’ll have to call me Master Boros. You’ll still be mere mortals, while I will have transcended you all!

Boros’s face flushed with excitement as he sat atop the high platform, unable to calm the fluctuations of his own magic...

On the other side, Dida La stood at a distance, his expression inscrutable as he regarded the alchemical device, a cold smile tugging at his lips.

That idiot Diras—does he really think I’d be so altruistic as to help him develop the alchemical device, then hand him the honor of being the first to transform?

The Beast God was, after all, one of the Elder Gods and Demons—and possessed the strongest bloodline power among them. His blood is far beyond any ordinary Elder God Blood.

No mortal can truly fathom the extent of an Elder God’s power. Even with the Burning Tower’s ancient heritage, we’ve never found a way to properly handle Beast God's Blood.

All alchemy demands rigor. Any alchemical item untested is a failure; any device unproven by time—no one can guarantee its results.

The alchemist’s creed was forged from countless years of blood and tears—a hard-won truth.

Just a single drop of Beast God's Blood—if we risked a Peak Title Archmage for it, it wouldn’t be worth it...

If it succeeds, great; if it fails, we lose a powerful mage—and who knows what the consequences of failure might be?

Still, that idiot Diras isn’t quite so foolish—he’s letting one of his underlings be the first guinea pig instead of risking himself...

A flicker of regret passed through Dida La’s eyes. If Diras had been the one to experiment, any success would be credited to the Burning Tower, but if he failed, regardless of the outcome, their agreement would be void—and if Diras died, future research results would never need to be shared with the Shadow Tower again...

Not far from the alchemical device, Diras watched the ecstatic Boros atop the high platform, then glanced at his own subordinates—faces twisted with envy and jealousy, eyes nearly red enough to bleed. Pride welled up in him.

Of course I wouldn’t personally test this alchemical device. It’s something that’s never appeared in the Northend World, unproven and untested. No matter how tempting the Sky Rank breakthrough, I wouldn’t dare risk myself...

No one ever discovered that Beast God's Blood could directly enable orcs to complete the Final Transcendental Transformation. Its power went unnoticed; even when it was found, it was used as ordinary Elder God Blood...

Pioneers in alchemy often meet ugly ends. Dida La, that greedy bloodsucker, does he really think I don’t know that?

That drop of Beast God's Blood can’t be wasted—it must be up to me to decide who gets the chance. Naturally, giving it to my own men is the best course.

If Boros succeeds, he’ll remember my favor for life. He’s followed me for years, and with this opportunity, his loyalty will only deepen.
