Jade Flute Gentleman

"I'm a little tired."

Liam Liu frowned and said, "I'll have someone escort you to the estate to rest!" This was a venue not far from the First Estate, where the annual Martial Arts Summit was usually held unless something unexpected happened.

Kimberly Liu pursed her lips and smiled softly. "No need," she replied gently, then reached out to hold his hand, leaned against his shoulder, and closed her eyes to rest.

Such intimacy was quite conspicuous, and Liam Liu was certainly aware of the stares around them. But seeing Kimberly Liu, remembering she was pregnant, he ultimately said nothing.

From an angle where no one could see, Kimberly Liu's lips curled in a calculating smile.

Seeing that Quentin Drake remained silent, Qin Yan and Felix Yu exchanged glances. Both were quite invested in the treasure, so their impatience showed.

Jade Feilong was seated right next to Quentin Drake, making conversation easy. "Master Quentin, it seems the Ghostmaster and Fiona Yun are too afraid to show up. Shouldn't we..."

He didn't finish his sentence, but Quentin Drake naturally understood his meaning. Now, with the net cast so tightly here, they were just waiting for the Ghostmaster and Fiona Yun to arrive so they could capture them.

On such an occasion, they were sure their targets wouldn't come alone. The Ghost Guild's two Protectors always shadowed the Ghostmaster, and Fiona Yun would certainly bring one or two elders along. If those were dealt with, the Ghost Guild and Cloud Guild would pose no further threat. Both factions had already deployed many men, ready to seize this opportunity and wipe them out—never giving them a chance to rise again!

Thus, they were well prepared. If Damien Gray and Yun Fengqing did not show, they naturally had other plans ready.

Quentin Drake watched the martial contest atop the high platform, speaking unhurriedly, "The match has only just begun."

Upon hearing this, Quentin Hua fell silent, turning his gaze to the platform, waiting patiently.

Quentin Hua watched for a while before deciding to leave. In truth, Violet Snow’s mission here was simply to incite war between both sides, forcing Damien Gray into a frenzy of bloodshed.

Such a trivial matter—surely Damien Gray and Morgan Shangguan could handle it. Even if the carnage unfolded just as that person wished, so what? The lives of others mattered little to Damien Gray and Morgan Shangguan, and Quentin Hua had no intention of intervening. These people were courting death on their own; why waste his energy?

"Quentin Hua..."

Quentin Hua lifted his eyes and saw Sophie Qiu, her face veiled. He raised an eyebrow in surprise.

Though Sophie Qiu was now Empress, she remained the leader of the Celestial Maiden Sect. He hadn't expected her to come in person. He knew she was close to Damien Gray, yet he doubted she was here to help him.

It seemed Sophie Qiu had her own plans. Of course—ambitious souls rarely submit to the control of others, even someone like Damien Gray.

Quentin Hua curled his lips into a smile. "This doesn’t seem the right occasion for idle conversation," he replied, voice tinged with playful indifference.

Sophie Qiu frowned, insisting, "It’s just a few words."

Quentin Hua studied her for a moment, then nodded slightly, as if relenting.

They found a quieter spot. Quentin Hua, bored, gazed at the distant duel atop the platform, waiting for Sophie Qiu to speak.

Suddenly, the lively arena fell silent. Quentin Hua rubbed his arms, not needing to look to know the reason. Shaking his head, he muttered, "Why is it getting colder?" Was it because he usually couldn’t vent his chill around the Cloud Guild Master, so he’d saved it up to unleash now?

Damien Gray cast a faint glance at those seated ahead, found an empty seat, and sat down. The stares directed at him seemed not to bother him in the least.

His arrival brought a sense of calm to the crowd. Now, all that remained was for Yun Fengqing to appear.

Most eyes were drawn to Damien Gray, but Yuna Ye never took her gaze off Ethan Gu. In this setting, he and Maxwell Jing stood quietly at Damien Gray’s side, saying nothing. Yet every glance, every subtle gesture between them brimmed with intimacy—so close that no one could come between them. Yuna’s heart ached; she lowered her head. If blame was to be placed, it was simply that fate had not brought them together.

Shuyang Ye saw the sadness in Yuna Ye’s expression and snorted coldly, casting a sharp glare at Ethan Gu.

Ethan Gu frowned. He prided himself on keeping a low profile and, apart from Maxwell Jing, had never courted anyone’s attention. How could he be caught up in a romantic entanglement? He genuinely didn’t understand what Yuna Ye saw in him.

Elsewhere, Quentin Hua turned to Sophie Qiu and said, "I have matters to attend to." His meaning was clear: get to the point.

Sophie Qiu hesitated before asking, "Why don’t you like me?" She truly couldn’t understand it—Quentin Hua was known to favor beauties, yet he seemed utterly indifferent to her. Was she not attractive enough for his tastes?

Quentin Hua arched an eyebrow, his laughter light. "Is Her Majesty really worried about not being admired?"

Though Sophie Qiu couldn’t help but ask, she didn’t dwell on the answer. Smiling, she said, "Lotus Sect Master, don’t you have other matters?"

Quentin Hua glanced at her, reminding, "Don’t even think of opposing Lord Ghostmaster. You’re no match for him."

Sophie Qiu raised her eyebrow, "Is that your way of showing concern?" Even veiled, her beauty and the way she lifted her brow could stir anyone’s heart.

Quentin Hua only shrugged lazily. "Consider it repaying a debt. I dislike owing anyone. If I must, I simply forget about it—what matters is my own happiness. I’ve never thought myself noble."

Sophie Qiu sighed, "You truly are heartless."

Matters of the heart are never repaid in full. He simply didn’t care, so he spoke so lightly.
