Risking Danger for Love

2/27/2026

Faye Lin looked at the elders who kept claiming everything was 'for the good of the clan,' and sneered, "Did any of you ever consider—if he hadn't shown up today, none of this would even be happening, right?"

"Faye, his appearance is clearly a blessing for our Lin family. Just listen to us, it's the right thing to do. Besides, I think that kid's not bad—if he can help us reclaim what belongs to the Lin clan, I'll betroth you to him. How about that?" Patriarch Leonard Lin said to her.

"I don't need you to use me as bait to lure him. Hmph, I'm going to tell him to leave right now." Faye Lin snorted coldly, then turned to go. But before she could get far, an elder struck her from behind—already injured, she collapsed unconscious.

"Faye, I'm sorry—it's for the good of the clan," the elder sighed. He then ordered someone to keep watch over her and make sure she couldn't contact Liam Yang.

Meanwhile, Patriarch Leonard Lin returned to the room where Liam Yang was staying. Liam had expected Faye Lin, but when he saw it was the patriarch, he grinned and said, "Patriarch Lin, finished with your errands?"

"Yes, almost done. Now let me take you over," Patriarch Leonard Lin replied with a smile. He led Liam Yang outside to an open area filled with tables, then sat Liam at his side and said, "Today I have to thank you properly."

"Really, Patriarch Lin, you don't need to thank me," Liam said, seeing so many people coming up to thank him one after another. He smiled, a bit unsure how to handle it.

"Alright, alright, I won't say it anymore, or it'll get out of hand," Patriarch Leonard Lin laughed.

Just then, Liam Yang asked curiously, "Where's Miss Lin?"

"Oh, she's resting from her injuries, and she's worried about the clan. Right now she's thinking about what to do next," Patriarch Leonard Lin sighed.

"Oh? What kind of clan matters?" Liam Yang asked, curious.

"You saw everything today—do you know why she was captured?" Patriarch Leonard Lin asked. Liam was genuinely curious, so he pressed, "What happened exactly?"

"Here's how it went: our mortal enemies, the Shen Family—their young master took a fancy to my daughter. I refused, so they forced their way in, stole our clan's treasure, destroyed our household, and finally kidnapped my daughter, trying to force her to marry him." Patriarch Leonard Lin recounted angrily and with deep sadness.

Liam Yang slammed the table and said, "Who does he think he is? I'll teach that guy a lesson."

Honestly, Liam just wanted to show off. Caught up in his infatuation, he had no idea what the clan's real intentions were, and he still couldn't see Faye Lin.

Patriarch Leonard Lin hesitated, "This might be a bit tricky. After all, you're not part of the Lin clan. If we ask you to do this, and Faye finds out, she'll definitely blame us."

"Don't worry, Patriarch Lin. We'll just keep it from her. Just tell me where the Shen Family is and I'll handle it for you," Liam Yang said confidently.

Patriarch Leonard Lin nodded, "Alright, let's discuss the details."

So Liam Yang and Patriarch Leonard Lin began discussing the specifics.

On the other side, Faye Lin woke up furious, "Let me out!"

"Miss, we really have no choice," one of the elders said. Faye Lin snapped, "You're all just bandits and liars!"

The elders ignored Faye Lin, acting like nothing had happened.

By then, Liam Yang had already left. Patriarch Leonard Lin returned to Faye Lin's side. When she saw her father, she demanded angrily, "What exactly did you tell him?"

"Faye, calm down. I didn't lie to him. I just told him about our clan's troubles, and he agreed to help us. If you don't believe me, go ask the others outside," Patriarch Leonard Lin said.

He let Faye Lin go. She went outside, found the other involved elders, and heard them talk about Liam Yang. Realizing he was going because of her, she felt a wave of guilt. She stood up and said, "I'm going to stop him."

"Are you crazy? Even if you try, it's too late—he's already gone," Patriarch Leonard Lin said.

Faye Lin shot back, "I'll stop him!" and stormed off, but her injuries made her move painfully slow.

Meanwhile, Liam Yang was getting closer to the Shen estate, which happened to be in the city. The Shen Family had hired many experts to gather there, planning to wipe out the Lin clan—but they hadn't expected a young man would show up and mess up their plans today.

Madam Blaze said angrily, "Young Master Shen, I know that guy."

"Oh? Who is he exactly?" Young Master Shen asked, standing tall in the Shen estate's main hall, surrounded by people.

"A few days ago, that guy wiped out my subordinates. I've got a grudge with him!" Madam Blaze said.

"How strong is he?" Young Master Shen asked.

"His spatial abilities are really powerful. Even my artifact couldn't stop him," Madam Blaze replied. Young Master Shen knew how formidable she was, so hearing even she couldn't deal with him made him frown. "What kind of cultivation technique is he using? I want him alive, so when you're tracking the Lin clan, make sure you capture him too. Whoever brings him in, I'll reward heavily."

"Yes, sir," Madam Blaze and the others replied.

They withdrew, leaving Madam Blaze behind. Young Master Shen teased her, "Did you try to target another guy and fail again?"

"You know my cultivation method, Young Master Shen—I need men every day," Madam Blaze laughed.

"I guess I'm a little scared of you. But I want him alive, got it?" Young Master Shen said.

"Relax, I'll make sure he's alive," Madam Blaze replied with a smile. Just then, noises sounded from outside.

"What's going on outside?" Young Master Shen frowned. Madam Blaze listened and muttered, "Sounds like someone snuck into the Shen estate."

"Let's go check it out," Young Master Shen said, leading the way outside.

Outside, they saw a crowd attacking a single person—but that guy treated the whole space like his playground, appearing here and there so fast that nobody could catch him. Unless a Heavenly Dao expert showed up, there was no way.

Madam Blaze spotted Liam Yang and shouted, "So it's you!"

"Hey, poisonous woman, here I am," Liam Yang said with a grin when he saw Madam Blaze.

Young Master Shen asked, "Is he the one?"

"That's right, he's the one," Madam Blaze replied.

Young Master Shen stared at Liam Yang for a moment, then sneered, "Kid, why not join the Shen Family? I'll give you whatever you want."

"So you're that brat from the Shen Family? The one trying to force Faye Lin into marriage?" Liam Yang asked with a laugh.

"That's me. So what?" Young Master Shen replied with a smile.

"If you're really Young Master Shen, then here's my message: Faye Lin will never marry you. And by the way, I'm here to collect the Lin clan's belongings—where did you put them?" Liam Yang asked.

"The Lin clan's stuff? Ha! You think you're some kind of superhuman? Even if I told you, you couldn't get it. See that main hall behind me? There's a secret room back there, and that's where the goods are. But let's see if you can actually get there safely!" Young Master Shen laughed loudly.

Liam Yang sneered, "Thanks for the tip."

With that, Liam Yang was about to disappear, but Young Master Shen shouted, "Stop him, everyone! Big rewards if you do!"

Liam Yang sneered, "You can't stop me!"

The crowd rushed toward the main hall, trying to get there before Liam Yang. Once inside, they formed a wall of bodies, leaving no gaps for him.

Liam Yang grinned, "I don't need a gap—I can get in anyway." With a flash, he appeared inside the hall.

Everyone was shocked. If Liam Yang just teleported, how did he get in with no gaps? The question lingered in their minds, and Young Master Shen muttered with interest, "I want him alive, and I want his cultivation technique."

"Yes, sir!" Madam Blaze replied, then led everyone to surround Liam Yang inside the hall. They even unleashed raging flames, but the fire was so intense, nobody could see what was happening inside.

By then, Liam Yang had already entered the secret room, sneering, "Go ahead and burn all you want. I'm going to check out the Lin clan's stuff."

Inside, Liam Yang searched around and found a bunch of valuable items, though he couldn't tell which belonged to the Lin clan—since some had been looted from them. Frustrated, he muttered, "Forget it, I'll just take everything." He pulled out a spatial ring and packed it all up.

Once everything was packed up, Liam Yang reappeared in the courtyard, glanced at the chaos inside the hall, and laughed, "Hey, everyone! I'm outta here. See ya!"

With a flash, Liam Yang vanished. When Young Master Shen and the others snapped out of it, he was already gone. Furious, Young Master Shen shouted, "Damn it! Madam Blaze, hurry up and find him!"

Madam Blaze replied awkwardly, "Young Master Shen, I've chased him before, but he disappears so fast."

"Isn't there any other way?" Young Master Shen said angrily.

"We need a place that blocks spatial abilities. Otherwise, he'll just come and go as he pleases and we'll never catch him," Madam Blaze said.

"Block him? Catch him? The only place is Tiger Prison Mountain—it's isolated from space, so no spatial artifacts or techniques work there," Young Master Shen mused.

"Tiger Prison Mountain? That could work, but would he really walk right into it?" Madam Blaze said awkwardly.

"Easy. He's here for the Lin clan, so let's capture one of their people. I bet he'll show up," Young Master Shen snorted.

"The Lin clan's most important person, Miss Lin, has already been rescued. Seems there's no one left," Madam Blaze sighed.

Hearing this, Young Master Shen was furious, feeling like he had power but nowhere to use it. Just then, several guards rushed over, and one said, "Young Master, we found a woman outside the city who looks a lot like Miss Lin, but we're not sure. You'll need to check it out yourself."
