Ten Million Netherstone Wager

1/19/2026

Before long, Jade Chu sent word: "Big Brother, I've already found where Roxy and the others are. They're just up ahead in a manor—not far from here. Go straight for five hundred meters, then turn the corner and you'll see it."

Evan Chu smiled faintly at the news. "Jade Chu, you're amazing. You found them so fast—thanks!"

"No need to thank me, Big Brother! It's what I should do. Go quickly—Roxy's not doing well right now, she might need you to save her." Jade Chu urged.

Without another word, Evan Chu picked up his pace and headed in the direction Jade Chu described. Soon he arrived at the manor, spread his god-sense to check inside, and saw several people gathered around Roxy. Their faces were all anxious, while Roxy herself was pale, eyes shut tight—clearly badly hurt.

Evan Chu didn't hesitate—he vaulted straight over the manor wall and ran for Roxy's room. But the manor was heavily guarded, and the moment the guards saw a stranger break in, they treated him as an enemy, surrounding him and blocking his way.

Evan Chu was burning with anxiety. He glared at the people blocking him and barked, "Move! I don't have time to waste on you. If you make me miss my chance to save her, you'll all pay for it—with your lives!"

Instantly, a terrifying killing intent erupted from Evan Chu, making the guards feel like they were facing a deadly monster. For a moment, nobody knew how to handle him—until the Shade Clan's Second Elder appeared. He was shocked to see Evan Chu, but quickly regained his composure and rushed to the front, saying:

"Prince Consort, you finally made it! We knew you'd be safe. Please, go check on Roxy—her injuries are so severe she still hasn't woken up."

Hearing the Second Elder's words, the guards instantly cleared a path. None of them had expected this youth to be Princess Ivy's Prince Consort—unbelievable! Evan Chu flashed forward to Roxy's door, pushed it open, and slipped inside, moving so fast he left only a blur behind, leaving everyone stunned.

It took a while before anyone snapped out of it and exclaimed, "That speed! What kind of power does the Prince Consort have to move like that? He's insane!"

"The Prince Consort can kill Venerable Martial experts—if he hadn't spared you for Princess Ivy's sake, you'd all be dead by now. Seriously, you don't know who you're messing with. Offending him means you know the consequences." The Second Elder finished, then entered the room as well.

The guards around Evan Chu were drenched in cold sweat. Just imagining someone who could kill a Fifth-Layer Venerable Martial was terrifying enough—but the scariest part was that he was just a youth, barely twenty. A freak among freaks, a monster of the highest grade.

Inside, Evan Chu saw that besides the Shade Lord, Princess Ivy, and Sean Xiao, there was an elderly man tending to Roxy's wounds. But from the look on his face, it was clear he'd already done all he could.

Evan Chu's sudden appearance startled the Shade Lord, Princess Ivy, and Sean Xiao. Princess Ivy immediately threw herself into his arms, choking back tears: "Evan, Roxy... she only got hurt saving me. You have to find a way to help her!"

With a beauty in his arms, Evan Chu felt nothing at all—if it were any other day, he'd already be sneaking a feel. But he gently pushed Princess Ivy aside and said, "Ivy, this isn't your fault. Don't blame yourself. Trust me, I won't let anything happen to Roxy."

Seeing Evan Chu return safely, the Shade Lord finally relaxed. "Evan, are you alright? What happened with the Beast King?"

"Father-in-law, let me heal Roxy first—then we'll talk about it. By the way, who's the one treating her right now?" Evan Chu was worried about Roxy, but since someone else was already helping, he didn't want to step on any toes, so he asked the Shade Lord.

"He's Skyspear City's most famous doctor—Dr. Neverdie! He's my closest friend, too. I brought him here hoping he could save Roxy, but her injuries are too severe. If it weren't for a strange flame energy inside her protecting her heart, she would've died already. All we can do now is hope for a miracle," the Shade Lord said helplessly.

"Sean Xiao, is Roxy really that badly hurt? Where are your miracle pills? Bring them out—don't tell me you can't save her!" Evan Chu snapped.

"Evan, if I had any miracle pills left, I'd have used them already. Roxy really is badly hurt—before, I could've saved her, but now I'm out of options. Without medicine, even the best healer can't work miracles. Let's hope Dr. Neverdie can pull off a miracle instead." Sean Xiao said, shaking his head.

At that moment, the old man glanced at Evan Chu and said, "This girl's heart meridian is basically severed. I'm powerless to help. Unless you can find a truly powerful Wood Spirit Crystal, maybe she could come back from the dead. Otherwise, no matter how skilled I am, there's nothing I can do."

But Evan Chu was absolutely confident he could heal Roxy—no medicine in the world could compare to his wood element. The old man's bluntness annoyed him, so he said, "I wouldn't be so sure. If Dr. Neverdie can't heal Roxy, then I'll do it myself!"

Dr. Neverdie eyed Evan Chu. "Kid, who do you think you are, doubting my skills? In the Netherworld, if I'm not the best doctor, nobody dares claim first. You think you can heal her? What a joke."

Evan Chu knew the old man was just looking down on him for being young, assuming he couldn't possibly know medicine. But Evan couldn't stand arrogant types like this—he found it deeply irritating.

"Big Brother, that old brat's storage ring has more than twenty Netherghost Violet Orchids in it. You have to find a way to get them!" Jade Chu piped up.

"How do you know he has Netherghost Violet Orchids? Can you see inside his storage ring?" Evan Chu asked in surprise.

"Ever since the Beast King gave you that empty storage ring, I've been keeping an eye on this old brat's ring. Turns out I really can see what's inside. You'd better not waste this chance!" Jade Chu said.

Evan Chu didn't mind Jade Chu calling Dr. Neverdie a brat—after all, a million-year-old artifact spirit had every right to say so. Instantly, he had an idea, and turned to Dr. Neverdie:

"Old man, if I heal Roxy, what then? How about we make a bet? If I save her, you give me twenty Netherghost Violet Orchids. If I fail, I'll pay you ten million Netherstones!"

"Twenty Netherghost Violet Orchids? Ten million Netherstones? Kid, are you just spouting nonsense? You think you can really put up ten million Netherstones? Stop embarrassing yourself and get out of here!" Dr. Neverdie sneered.

But right after he spoke, something seemed to click. This youth came in, and neither the Shade Lord nor Princess Ivy said a word against him—in fact, they seemed genuinely concerned. That meant he was close to them. He remembered that half a year ago, Princess Ivy took a Prince Consort. Could this kid be the Prince Consort? Unable to help himself, he asked, "Are you Princess Ivy's Prince Consort?"
