Tour Guide Rona Muir

Lucas Lin's interest was instantly piqued. "Oh? Is that really a thing?"

Lucas Lin used to be busy every day training as a trainee, so he honestly never paid attention to all the famous love-hate drama between Charles Yin and the nation's darling, Cecilia Gu.

Seeing that Lucas Lin genuinely didn't know, Rona Muir gave him a quick rundown of Cecilia Gu's background, then started talking about the Yun family behind her. Once she started, she just couldn't stop, chattering on about all sorts of things related to Cecilia.

Finally, Rona said, "None of this is really a secret. You can just search Weibo and find out—back then, they caused such a stir. Cecilia really had it tough, but she finally made it through. The first time I met her, I thought she’d gotten ahead just because of her connections. But later, she became my best friend."

Lucas Lin said seriously, "So that's how it is. I guess I should treat Mrs. Yin better from now on."

Rona Muir pulled Lucas Lin into a traditional Old Alley—a historic hutong preserved in Newport City.

There was a local eatery here that was truly authentic. Cecilia used to bring Rona here, but as life got busier, they came less often.

Newport City is an ancient place, so traditional Old Alleys and winding streets like this are everywhere.

Even though it's modern now, most of these old streets and alleys have kept their original look.

Later, the government made a point to protect these historic streets and alleys, so none of them were torn down.

The people who have lived here for generations are the true locals.

The more authentic the locals, the more authentic their street food.

So, even though this little shop only has three or four tables and not many customers, the taste is truly excellent.

Lucas Lin followed Rona Muir into the shop and saw several delivery guys waiting to pick up takeout orders.

Looks like business is really good.

Rona Muir pulled Lucas Lin to a table in the corner, ordered a few classic street snacks, and whispered, "Don’t eat too much. We’ve got lots more places to hit and plenty more food to try. If you fill up now, you’ll miss out on the rest."

Lucas Lin smiled and replied, "Okay."

After the delivery guys left, the food they ordered was brought over.

Rona didn’t waste any words—she opened the containers and invited Lucas to dig in.

Lucas had known hard times himself, so he wasn’t like those spoiled rich kids who looked down on food from little hole-in-the-wall places.
