Lucia Lu looked at him, her gaze cool and indifferent.
"Before, we didn't realize Sean Shaw was so capable—he can slip in and out of the God-Sealing Grand Array like it's nothing! So, we've changed our minds. You don't have to say he ordered you. All you need to do is confess!" Leo Li said.
"Confess?"
"You need to tell everyone you're the culprit who harmed the Celestial Emperor."
"Let my big brother go, and I'll confess."
"Really?" Leo Li raised his eyebrow.
"Really," Lucia replied.
"Alright!" Leo Li cast a spell and activated a Surveillance Talisman. "Take a look!"
Inside the Surveillance Talisman, Jason Xiao was shown taking her big brother away—he really let him go.
Her big brother looked totally baffled, pulling out a Messenger Charm to make a call as he flew off.
They actually let him go?
"How could you just let him go so easily? What did you do to him?" Lucia demanded.
"Didn't do much—just implanted a Beyond-Shore Sigil in both him and you."
"Beyond-Shore Sigil?" Lucia's eyes widened.
When a Beyond-Shore Sigil is implanted in two people, only one can survive.
After half a month, only one will die—the other gets to live. Just like the other-shore flower: the blossoms and leaves never coexist...
"Judging by your reaction, you know what that is!" Leo Li raised an eyebrow. "Divine Lady Lucia really is a scholar. I didn't even know about it until now!"
Lucia reached out, trying to grab him, but the moment her hand touched the Abyssal Cell, a surge of electricity shot through her, burning several slender white fingers.
She reflexively yanked her hand back, trembling slightly.
Leo Li chuckled, "Don't get so worked up! Such pretty hands—what a waste to burn them like this!"
Lucia stared at him. "If you want me dead, just kill me! Why go to all this trouble?"
"Killing you is easy! But if you die, we end up with a whole mess of trouble, right? So, you have to confess yourself! And you need to convince everyone you're telling the truth—that we're not forcing you!"
Lucia snorted with laughter.
Leo Li stood up, smiling coldly. "Don't think you can get lucky. The Beyond-Shore Sigil is already a top-tier talisman, and with hidden upgrades, even the person who made it can't pull it out! And he said your mother, Bianca Whitefan, absolutely can't remove it within half a month!"
Lucia took a deep breath. "If I confess, maybe others will believe it, but my family never will."
"That's your problem! With Divine Lady Lucia's brains, I'm sure you'll figure it out. If you need anything, just ask!"
"Leo Li, you'll get what's coming to you!" Lucia spat out each word.
Leo Li gave a little smile. "I don't believe in karma. I only believe... survival of the fittest."
With that, he left.
Lucia touched the only thing left on her thanks to a Restriction Seal—the Heartscale—and managed a faint smile.
When she learned she was Bianca Whitefan's daughter, she thought she might not survive for long.
But after her mother intervened, the people of the Lumina Realm stopped bothering her. His Majesty the Celestial Emperor and two Divine Lords protected her, and for a while, life seemed pretty okay.
She even thought, maybe if she adjusted her attitude, things wouldn't be so bad.
Then, when His Majesty the Celestial Emperor and Sean Shaw came to Peach Blossom Haven to propose, she thought, maybe she really was a lucky little witch.
Turns out, a witch is still a witch—never destined for a happy ending.
Her mother was one, so was she, and even the Fiend Princess... all the same.
