Bronze Statues and Blades

More than a dozen giant snakes surged into the rat horde, launching attacks and throwing the swarm into chaos.

At first, the giant rats didn’t react, but soon enough, they started fighting back, swarming toward the dozen or so giant snakes in packs.

As the saying goes, many ants can bite an elephant to death. At first, the giant snakes could still fling the rats away with their tails, but as more and more rats crowded in, even the snakes started to falter.

“Deputy Lu, did you hypnotize all those giant snakes?” Hugh Xu swallowed nervously as he asked.

“Yeah.”

Ian Song nodded.

For a moment, the Mech Squad members looked at him with a mix of awe and respect.

He could control even beasts as fierce as giant snakes—and not just one, but more than ten at once. That level of hypnosis was something even most two-star Psychic Adepts couldn’t pull off.

Meanwhile, up above the Underground Palace, Ryan Zhou watched this scene, utterly shocked.

Henry Yun said enviously, “Captain Zhou, this Deputy Lu is seriously impressive. His future achievements are going to be limitless!”

Ryan Zhou just smiled and said nothing, but inside he was feeling extremely proud.

The snake-rat battle in the Underground Palace hall had already lasted a full fifteen minutes. Over five hundred giant rats had been killed, but those dozen or so giant snakes weren’t much better off—blood streamed from their bodies, and many of their scales had been torn away.

It looked like it wouldn’t be long before the remaining rats finished off the snakes.

"Sssssss!"

Suddenly, a chilling hiss echoed through the hall, and more than a hundred giant snakes surged out of the tunnel.

Leading the charge was a massive black snake, over twenty meters long. Its cold eyes swept over the hall, briefly showing a hint of surprise. Then, with a furious roar, it led the hundred-plus snakes in a frenzied attack on the giant rats.

Against just a dozen snakes, the rats could still dominate, but with over a hundred fresh giant snakes joining in, the rats couldn’t hold out—they were instantly routed and fled toward the other tunnels.

In the blink of an eye, only the hundred-plus giant snakes remained in the hall.

The leader snake’s cold gaze then locked onto Ian Song and his team.

“Deputy Lu, what do we do? That big snake seems to have its eyes on us!”
