Cici Shines at the Yin Family Gala

1/4/2026

"Because Charles once said, this is the car he'd drive when he meets the woman he loves most. So if you give this car to your wife, does that mean...?" Miss Clarence gazed at Charles Yin, her eyes growing more and more passionate.

She felt like she was finally going to witness this moment today!

As long as Charles Yin handed over the Aston Martin One-77 to her, she'd become his wife!

Standing nearby, Cici was stunned as if hit by a cannonball when she heard Miss Clarence's words, frozen in place.

So this Aston Martin actually meant all that!

It was the car Charles Yin drove when he first met his ex-wife!

But why would he give this car to her?

Isn't he about to get married?

Isn't this car supposed to be for his current wife?

Why did he suddenly turn around and give it to her?

Where did things go off track?

But in Miss Clarence's eyes, Cici's stunned reaction looked like she couldn't handle the shock of Charles Yin giving the Aston Martin One-77 to Miss Clarence, and so she froze.

Honestly, what a beautiful misunderstanding.

Charles Yin looked at Cici with deep meaning, squeezing her fingers tightly.

Cici finally snapped out of it, looked up at Charles Yin—and crashed right into those deep, ocean-like eyes of his.

Cici really didn't get it.

Charles Yin did it on purpose. He deliberately gave her the Aston Martin One-77!

Why would he give it to her?

Was he just trying to distract everyone? To protect the woman he really wanted to marry?

No, Charles Yin wasn't that weak.

The tycoons kept nodding in agreement, clearly impressed.

If the daughter’s already this brilliant, just imagine how impressive her dad must be!

The Grant Family really is in a league of its own.

Miss Clarence, always the center of attention, was actually forgotten for the first time tonight—and she was not happy about it!

All those men gathered around Cici, chatting away, completely ignoring Miss Clarence. She was seriously annoyed!

She tried to butt in and change the subject a bunch of times, but she just couldn’t get a word in.

It was either philosophy, religion, or the progress of civilization—way out of her league.

Finally, when they talked about economics, it was all finance secrets and jargon. Miss Clarence couldn’t even follow, let alone join in!

But Cici? No matter what the topic was, she always had something smart and on-point to say. The British nobles kept being blown away by her.

By dinner, those guys practically adored Cici—they were ready to snatch her up and make her their daughter-in-law!

But as hostess, Cici couldn’t just hang out with them all night.

When Cici turned to tell the butlers to get dinner ready, one of the tycoons looked at Charles Yin with regret and said, "Charles, are you really getting back together with her? If you’re not, my third son is still single."

The others instantly laughed, "You old fox, poaching right in front of us! But hey, does the Grant Family have any more daughters? My son’s still single too!"

Charles Yin smiled gently, "Sorry, but Cici and I are never splitting up. We’ve already got kids together—no way I’m letting anyone else have her."

A few of the nobles lit up, "Well, I’ve got granddaughters…"

Miss Clarence saw she was totally shut out of their little circle, and her face twisted with anger.

Another noblewoman at the party saw Miss Clarence’s expression and giggled, "Clarence, are you still after Charles? Haha, sure, he’s Chinese, but he’s way out of your league."

"None of your business," Miss Clarence snapped. She knew the girl—daughter of an oil tycoon, studying in the UK, and invited by Charles Yin himself.

After all, Charles Yin’s oil business in the Middle East is tangled up with all these tycoons.

"I’m not getting involved—I’m just here for the drama." The oil tycoon’s daughter wore a white evening gown and laughed, "Honestly, I never liked Chinese women, but tonight I changed my mind. Smart, graceful, and so talented—no wonder everyone loves her. Even I’m a fan now. Sometimes, you just have to accept when you’ve lost. Chasing after something you can’t have is what’s really laughable."

Miss Clarence glared, then spotted Cici heading toward the corridor.

Not about to let it go, Miss Clarence put down her wine glass and hurried after Cici.

She was going to stake her claim!

She was going to beat this Eastern woman!

Charles belongs to her!

No Eastern woman is going to steal him away!

Cici was just about to tell the butlers to wrap up the last preparations when she heard Miss Clarence call out behind her, "Wait a second!"

Cici stopped and turned around, looking at Miss Clarence with gentle elegance. "Is there something you’d like to discuss, Miss Clarence?"

Miss Clarence stared at Cici’s face, suddenly jealous of her calm smile and graceful vibe.

Eastern women have this natural advantage—they just don’t age as fast.

Even though Cici was twenty-six, her delicate features and flawless skin made her look barely thirteen or fourteen compared to Western girls.

Miss Clarence was about the same age as Cici, but looked twenty years older!

"Aren’t you curious why Charles invited me here?" Miss Clarence couldn’t hold back her jealousy, her words dripping with sarcasm.
