An Unfathomable Future

Mallin City on Clarin Star was bustling with activity. Second Young Master Fenn led Evan Yang and the others through the crowd, heading straight to the most luxurious inn in Mallin City—Grand Arrival Inn.

The inn itself towered nearly a hundred meters tall, with an even broader footprint.

The entire building had more than twenty floors. From the top floor, one could overlook the surrounding scenery. It was a place for the wealthy and influential, and most importantly, Mallin City was famous on Clarin Star—which itself was one of the main planets of Ninefold Palace.

The so-called 'main planets' were places where many members of Ninefold Palace gathered. Ninefold Palace had nine main planets, each a first-class world.

Each of these nine main planets had a landmark building, and Grand Arrival Inn was the signature building on Clarin Star.

Because Grand Arrival Inn was directly controlled by Ninefold Palace, no one dared to cause trouble here. Instead, it was mostly used for sightseeing and business discussions.

As soon as Second Young Master Fenn and his group arrived downstairs, he said to the attendant, "Tenth floor."

The attendant nodded and led everyone to a section of the inn's lobby with platforms resembling teleportation arrays.

Evan Yang had never been here before, so he curiously followed Second Young Master Fenn and the others onto the platform. The attendant, who was actually a cultivator, infused spiritual power into the array, and the ten of them were instantly transported upstairs.

When they stepped out again, they were already on the tenth floor. Many attendants served there as well, but each one possessed impressive cultivation.

"What service do you require?" The attendant asked as soon as someone arrived upstairs.

"Where is Mr. Sha?" Second Young Master Fenn asked directly.

"You're here to see Mr. Sha? Please follow me." The attendant realized they were looking for someone and led them over.

Evan Yang and the others stepped off the teleportation array. Evan glanced around—every room here was a private box facing the scenery, with corridors in the middle and attendants moving about, taking orders.

"Second Young Master, this place really is luxurious." The guards exclaimed, each surprised.

"Isn't it? I've only been here a few times, and every time it's high spending—sometimes over a million crystal sources." Second Young Master Fenn laughed.

Evan Yang was shocked by the mention of spending over a million crystal sources, then looked around, estimating there were about twenty private boxes on this floor.

"Mr. Sha is inside here." The attendant said, stopping at a private box.

"Alright, got it." Second Young Master Fenn replied, and a voice sounded from inside, "Come in."

Evan Yang suddenly felt the voice was familiar, but the door was still closed, so he couldn't see inside. He could only wait for the door to open.

After the attendant left, one of Second Young Master Fenn's guards pushed open the door. Evan Yang was stunned by what he saw inside.

"It's them!" Evan Yang hadn't expected that the people Second Young Master Fenn came to see would be those from Sha Palace. The five who chased him last time were all here—now there were eight people in the room.

"Second Young Master Fenn, you're here." The youth who chased Evan Yang that day smiled at him.

"Sorry to keep you waiting." Second Young Master Fenn replied with a smile.

"No problem, come in and sit." The youth smiled, then had someone close the door.

As Evan Yang and Second Young Master Fenn walked over, a powerful Divine Sense emanated from the elder beside the youth.

"This elder's strength is extraordinary," Evan Yang realized. He hadn't seen such a person in Hundred-Change Valley before, so he guessed the elder was above Spirit-God Realm and that's why he didn't enter.

"Mr. Sha, I heard that as long as you pay some crystal sources, you can ask about anything you want." Second Young Master Fenn smiled.

"Mm." The youth smiled.

Evan Yang was curious—why were they so confident, as if they could answer anything?

"Oh? Then I'd like to know something. How many crystal sources will it take?" Second Young Master Fenn smiled.

"What do you want to know?" Mr. Sha smiled.

"I want to know what future prospects I have—can I take over the Wind Family?" Second Young Master Fenn knew this room blocked Divine Sense and was heavily guarded, so no cultivators could eavesdrop on the private box.

Everyone was shocked, and Evan Yang was no less surprised, secretly thinking, "This guy is ambitious, but it's impossible with just this strength."

Mr. Sha smiled and directly called over the middle-aged man sitting beside him.

The middle-aged man looked at Second Young Master Fenn, then closed his eyes, leaving everyone puzzled about what he was doing.

When the man opened his eyes and transmitted a message to the youth, the youth was first surprised, then smiled, "Second Young Master Fenn, I think it's better if you don't know."

"Why?" Second Young Master Fenn asked suspiciously.

"My subordinate says you have two strong enemies—they're not dead, so you'll never win. Even if they die, you'll be killed by someone else." Mr. Sha smiled.

"Impossible! Who are those two?" Second Young Master Fenn stood up, furious.

"I can't say. If I tell you, it won't be accurate." Mr. Sha smiled.

"You..." Second Young Master Fenn lost his composure—if he didn't know who those two strong enemies were, he wouldn't be at ease even in death.

"But I can give you a hint: those two strong enemies are from the Wind Family. Even if they die, you'll still be killed by someone else—not from your family, but I can't tell you who." Mr. Sha gave a hint seeing Second Young Master Fenn's reaction.

Hearing that the two strong enemies were from the Wind Family, Second Young Master Fenn naturally set one as his target—Third Young Master Fenn. As for the other, he didn't think it was his eldest brother, who never competed for these things.

"Thank you. How much does it cost?" Second Young Master Fenn knew he'd been told enough; asking further might annoy them.

"Fifty million top-grade crystal sources." Mr. Sha smiled.

"What!" Second Young Master Fenn was shocked and angry again—how could a single piece of information be so expensive?

"We're taking a risk predicting your future. If people find out we're secretly telling you, we'll be in danger." Mr. Sha said, not angry but aggrieved.

"Fine, I'll give you ten thousand top-grade crystal sources. Can you tell me how Third Young Master Fenn will die?" Second Young Master Fenn frowned.

"No. Unless he's here in person, I can't tell you." Mr. Sha refused directly.

"Damn, it's impossible to bring Third Young Master Fenn here." Second Young Master Fenn thought to himself, but a plan formed—he would find a way to trick him into coming.

"I'll bring him another day. Here are sixty million top-grade crystal sources—use the extra to check this person. Is his winemaking skill strong enough to bring good wine to our Wind Family?" Second Young Master Fenn said after thinking.

Evan Yang hadn't expected Second Young Master Fenn to bring him for this purpose. He wanted to kill him on the spot, but since he hadn't been discovered, he endured and kept observing the people from Sha Realm—they seemed truly able to see the future.

Thinking of seeing the future, Evan Yang recalled the four strange people on that odd mountain in Sha Realm, but the middle-aged man here was clearly not one of them.

The youth accepted the crystal sources in high spirits and had the middle-aged man look at Evan Yang.

The middle-aged man looked at Evan Yang, then closed his eyes, but didn't open them for a long time.

Second Young Master Fenn and the others grew suspicious, and the people from Sha Palace were surprised too. Usually, the middle-aged man finished quickly, but this time he kept his eyes closed.

The group waited helplessly. Even Second Young Master Fenn grew impatient, but the youth said, "Wait a little longer."

After that, the middle-aged man finally opened his eyes, sweat covering his face, and shook his head. "No."

"What do you mean, 'No'?" Second Young Master Fenn thought Evan Yang's brewing had failed and wouldn't benefit the Wind Family, so he was furious.

"What's going on?" The youth asked curiously.

The middle-aged man explained to the youth, who frowned after hearing it. "Second Young Master Fenn, I'm afraid I'll have to refund you ten million crystal sources."

"Why?" Second Young Master Fenn asked in surprise.

"My subordinate says he can't see through his future, so he can't make a judgment for you." The youth said.

"What? Can't see?" Second Young Master Fenn was surprised and stared at Evan Yang. The others were also curious—not just Second Young Master Fenn's group, but the people from Sha Palace too. Why couldn't Evan Yang's future be seen?

"Yes, there are always some people whose futures we can't see, or which can change at any moment." The middle-aged man replied.

Second Young Master Fenn began doubting whether their so-called omniscience was real, so he asked suspiciously, "How accurate are you, usually?"

"Usually, we're eighty percent accurate. But with him, we can't see even ten percent." The middle-aged man said.

Hearing eighty percent, Second Young Master Fenn calmed down—at least there was a twenty percent chance to change his fate.

"Thanks. I'll bring my third brother another day." Second Young Master Fenn said, then left with Evan Yang and the others.

Evan Yang followed behind Second Young Master Fenn, but every Divine Sense in the group swept over him, as if trying to see through him.

"Strange, he's just a mortal—how come you can't see through even a mortal?" The youth asked the middle-aged man.

"I don't know. I almost got stuck and couldn't get out." The middle-aged man said awkwardly.

"Stuck?" The youth asked, puzzled.

"I've cultivated this future prediction art, but sometimes there's a risk—when I can't see through someone, I get trapped. Luckily, this time it was just a mortal and didn't pressure me." The middle-aged man said, still shaken.

"I see. And this art can't be used on people from Sha Realm, right?" The youth asked, a bit frustrated—such a good resource couldn't be used in Sha Realm, only in the Human Realm to predict their futures and earn crystal sources.

"Can't be helped. My master forbids it—if I use it, I'll be stuck forever." The middle-aged man said, embarrassed.

"Forget it. At least here we can make good use of it—maybe when we go back, we'll have a fortune." The youth's mood shifted as he saw the fifty million crystal sources in his hand.

Everything they said reached Evan Yang's ears.

Who is this middle-aged man? Is he connected to those four strange people? Evan Yang thought of the four who could see others' futures and immediately linked them together in his mind.
