This female Special Police officer was not only towering and muscular, but her looks were nothing to write home about—her facial features seemed almost squeezed together on her face.
Unable to help himself, Mason Hu stared at her face a few times.
His gaze was so blatant that it infuriated the female officer, who barked at Mason, "Kid, what are you looking at?"
But Mason was hot-tempered himself and refused to back down, retorting, "Looking at you—so what?"
"You’re asking for it!"
A flash of anger appeared in the female officer’s eyes, and she raised her hand to slap Mason. Just then, a voice called out, "Erin, stop!"
Hearing this, the tomboyish officer reluctantly lowered her hand.
Then, a slim, attractive female Special Police officer stepped out from behind Erin.
"Sorry about that, sir. Erin has a bit of a temper—please forgive her."
Mason’s eyes nearly glazed over. This officer looked to be just over twenty, with an oval face and exquisitely arranged features.
"It’s fine, it’s fine," Mason said quickly, waving his hand.
"Goodbye."
The young officer smiled and waved at Mason, then left together with Erin.
"Goodbye," Mason replied in a dazed voice, still waving even after both women entered the elevator—he just stood there, frozen.
Daisy gently tugged at Erin's sleeve.
"Hmph, Daisy, let's go!" Erin huffed and strode off, while Daisy gave Mason an apologetic smile before following her.
"Daisy... what a beautiful name," Mason murmured to himself, still standing there.
The hotel rooms were provided by the provincial Special Police base—one room per person, and the conditions were quite decent.
Mason Hu and Evan Lin were staying in the rooms next door to Ian’s.
"Her name's Daisy. Isn't that a wonderful name?" Mason said, his face full of excitement.
Daisy replied gently, “Erin, we’re not in Hanford City anymore. This is the provincial tournament—don’t cause trouble.”
She added, “Besides, Mason was staring at you just now. But when he looked at me, his eyes were practically burning with desire.”
Erin snorted, “Only my brother is good enough for you. Anyone else who dares think about you should be beaten to death.”
Daisy sighed, “Erin, I’ve told you a hundred times—your brother and I are impossible.”
Erin stubbornly insisted, “My brother is handsome and strong! He’s perfect for you!”
Daisy sighed, “By the way, those three guys—do you know which city’s Special Police they’re from?”
“Who cares! They’re all skinny weaklings—probably couldn’t take a single punch from me!” Erin scoffed, looking disdainful.
Daisy reminded her, “Don’t get too cocky. You may be strong, but if you run into someone agile, all that strength won’t do you any good.”
“So what? My defense is still top-notch,” Erin said smugly.
“Alright, I give up.” Daisy felt like she was arguing with a brick wall.
……
The tournament wouldn’t start until tomorrow, so today, every participant was free to do as they pleased.
Ian had only been in his room for about twenty minutes before Mason came by, inviting him to go out for a walk.
But Ian refused. What was there for three guys to do out on the town? Besides, if the deputy minister found out, they’d get an earful. He’d rather just sleep in the hotel.
When Ian wouldn’t go, Mason tried Evan next, but Evan’s thinking was about the same—he turned Mason down too.
With both teammates uninterested, Mason had no choice but to stay at the hotel.
Near noon, Mason showed up again—this time, not to go out, but to eat.
The restaurant was on the third floor and served buffet-style meals.
After a quick freshen-up, Ian and his teammates headed to the third floor.
The restaurant could seat just over 200 people, but with five or six hundred Special Police officers here for the tournament, it was packed.
