After wrapping up the Graystone and hanging it close to his body, Joe Di finally began to sort through the items inside the quantum spaceplane.

The quantum spaceplane could no longer be started. Joe Di found a backpack and stuffed it with items he thought might be useful and wouldn't take up much space.

As for the quantum spaceplane, he could only lock it up, then cut a pile of thorns nearby to cover it. Whether or not he would return for it in the future, this spaceplane had cost him many gold coins, and the crucial parts had all been designed by himself.

After handling these matters, just as Joe Di was about to look for a way out, he saw a person lying sideways only a few steps away. Judging by the back, it seemed to be a man. He had thought this place was desolate, so suddenly seeing someone startled him.

The man's clothes were very strange—at least, Joe Di had never seen such attire. Not far from him was also a large blue backpack. In his hand, he still grasped a medicinal herb, which looked like a flower.

Cautiously approaching, Joe Di was certain the man was dead. He moved to the man's front, and when he saw the man's face clearly, his hand dropped the bag to the ground instinctively, and he muttered, "Could I already be dead?"

Several breaths passed before Joe Di snapped out of it—he definitely wasn't dead. But the dead man looked far too much like him. No, it wasn't just resemblance; they were identical.

Joe Di bent down, intending to carefully lay the man flat. As soon as his hand touched the man's body, the Graystone at his chest seemed to heat up, and a strange feeling surged within him. For no apparent reason, an awareness arose in Joe Di's mind—this man was his previous incarnation.

Not only that, he could even vaguely grasp some fragments of the man's memories. Or rather, by touching him, Joe Di's own hazy memories of his past life began to surface.

Joe Di took out the Graystone he had just wrapped in cloth and hung around his neck, opening it in his palm and examining it repeatedly. Passing through the Void Rift and ending up at the place where he died in his previous life, touching his former body and recalling fragments of past memories—this could not be a coincidence. He suspected that it was because of the stone that he could see his previous incarnation.

After half a stick of incense's time, Joe Di put the Graystone back close to his body. In such a short time, he had experienced far too much: the Nine Di Clans were exterminated, he encountered his previous incarnation, obtained the Graystone, passed through the inexplicable Void Rift, and arrived in a place he had never heard of before...

What could be sadder or more absurd than this? After all he had gone through, he was no longer the Joe Di who still pined for Manna Zhen.

Letting out a long sigh, Joe Di opened the large blue backpack nearby.

Inside were a few changes of clothes, some outdoor travel gear, rations, water, a map, and a compass. There was also a wallet, several books, and a small brown notebook.

Opening the wallet, he found several Huaxia banknotes. He had never seen this kind of paper money before, but now he instantly understood what they were. Not only that, he recognized all the characters on the bills, which seemed to confirm that he had recovered some memories from his previous life.

Aside from the Huaxia banknotes, the wallet contained several cards, a photo, a key, and a rent receipt. The cards were bank cards, but no matter how hard Joe Di tried, he couldn't recall the passwords.

There was also an ID card—the name on it was David Di.

He took out the photo—it was a group picture. On the left was his previous incarnation, David Di, and on the right was an exceptionally beautiful young woman. The photo had clearly been torn and later taped back together.

In Joe Di's eyes, the woman's beauty was not inferior to Manna Zhen, whom he once loved. Yet, in the memories he had recovered from his past life, there was no trace of this woman.

Joe Di put the photo back in the wallet, realizing that his current life was even less fortunate than his previous one. At least in his past life, he had an exceptionally beautiful woman by his side. In this life, born into the Di family of Jade Nation, even with his father's influence, he couldn't win Manna Zhen's affection.

He slipped the wallet into his pocket. Not to mention that this was his own former body—even if it weren't, he saw no shame in keeping these things.

Joe Di opened the small brown notebook and immediately saw the words 'Divorce Certificate.'

Joe Di rubbed his hair. Whether in this life or the last, he never had much luck with women. With a sigh, he packed everything up and put it in his bag.

After checking his belongings, Joe Di found a decent spot and dug a pit. No matter what, he had to bury the body of his previous incarnation.

When moving his former body into the pit, Joe Di finally saw the fatal wound—a sharp stone half a foot long had pierced David Di's waist. Moreover, David Di's bones were fractured in dozens of places. Looking at the cliff ahead, Joe Di guessed he must have fallen from it.

Burying oneself—just thinking about it felt absurd, but doing it was even more heartbreaking.

Even in Jade Nation, the idea of past lives was merely a spiritual comfort, but now it had truly happened to him.

Joe Di took one set of clothes; the rest, along with the phone and even the large backpack, he placed in the pit and buried together.

Finally, Joe Di picked up the flower. In his previous life, he had clung to this flower even in death. He decided to leave it here.

But as soon as Joe Di picked up the flower, his expression turned strange. He recognized this flower—it was the Scarletblood Flower.

In Jade Nation, the Scarletblood Flower was priceless. Even Princess Pearl Wu, daughter of King Hubert Wu—if she had such a flower, her eyes could have been restored, no matter how damaged. There would have been no need to dig out his sister Debbie Di's eyes for a transplant.

Holding the Scarletblood Flower, Joe Di stared blankly for several minutes before finally placing it in his backpack.

After experiencing the destruction of his clan, Joe Di would never again be as naive as before. He was certain that the extermination of the Nine Di Clans was not simply because his father cursed King Hubert Wu.

The reason King Hubert Wu wanted to take Debbie Di's eyes, besides his love for Pearl Wu, was to deliberately provoke his father, Shawn Di, and use it as an excuse to wipe out the Di family.

Thinking back, his five older brothers had all died in service to the king, but there was something suspicious about it. Most likely, because the Di family controlled seventy percent of Jade Nation's military, the old king became jealous and plotted to kill his five brothers first.

King Hubert Wu, that old schemer, was truly vicious to the extreme. If he ever had the chance to return to Yalen Continent, Joe Di swore to eradicate the Wu family, root and branch, to avenge the Di clan.

No, Qu Xiaoshu said that when King Hubert Wu wanted to kill his father, not a single person pleaded for mercy. That was impossible. With his father's reputation, how could no one speak up? Even if his father had cursed King Hubert Wu, so what? Would King Hubert Wu really dare to touch him? His father was a great martial master and commanded Jade Nation's army. With his father's character, surrendering out of blind loyalty was simply impossible.

Unless...

At this thought, Joe Di shivered. Unless someone controlled all those close to his father, or even actively restrained his father and those around him, and had no fear of the power behind his father.

Could King Hubert Wu have such ability? Only someone at the level of Martial King could do that. But was a Martial King truly that powerful?

If that were true, it meant his enemies were not limited to King Hubert Wu—there were even greater powers behind him. Joe Di took a deep breath. Even if his enemy was the Luyuan Empire, as long as he could return, he would never let it go.
