General, Why Are You Here Too?

12/19/2025

Sophie Sun floated by like an immortal, her expression inscrutable as she gave Grace a faint smile and said, "I'm really looking forward to the Empress Dowager's Birthday! See you in the palace then!"

With that, she turned and prepared to leave.

However, after only a few steps, she suddenly stopped in her tracks.

A group of people was approaching from ahead.

Leading the group was Minister Zhuo, followed by a crowd of officials from the Inspectorate.

Judge Johnson shivered all over when he saw them, hastily stuffed the property deed record from the table into his chest, and, face full of panic, rushed over to greet them: "Oh my, Minister! What brings you here?"

Minister Zhuo didn’t say a word. He simply reached out and pulled the property deed record from Judge Johnson’s chest, where a corner was still sticking out.

"Ah? M-Minister!" Judge Johnson’s mind buzzed.

Why did the Minister come in person?

He’d heard that Minister Zhuo didn’t like Grace at all—he was even about to sever ties with her as his daughter! Why would he show up to help her now?

Minister Zhuo glanced at it and threw the property deed record in Judge Johnson’s face: "It clearly says Samuel Saunders on here. Can’t you read?"

"Th-this..." Judge Johnson was trembling all over.

Minister Zhuo gave him a cold look and said, "Judge Johnson, His Majesty has ordered me to oversee the officials and has the authority to appoint anyone below third rank. Since your judgment was unfair, I’m temporarily assigning someone else to handle the case. When it’s over, we’ll deal with this matter. Do you have any objections?"

Judge Johnson was shaking like a leaf and couldn’t say a word.

"David," Minister Zhuo called out.

"Minister Zhuo," David Yuan had been following right behind him.

"You handle it," Minister Zhuo said. "Review the case thoroughly. I’ll be watching."

"Yes, sir." The steady David Yuan stepped forward and quickly sorted out the whole situation.

With both witnesses and evidence present, the case couldn’t be clearer.

And so, Lucky Star was awarded to Grace.

Judge Johnson was taken away.

Samuel Saunders was sentenced to exile.

Sophie Sun could only watch helplessly, unable to do a thing.

Minister Zhuo is the Prime Minister, after all!

She might be a force to be reckoned with in the Spirit Alliance, but that’s a whole different system. In the officialdom, there’s nothing she can do against the Prime Minister.

Grace grinned happily at Sophie Sun and said, "Miss Sun, an official who can’t tell family from duty deserves to be dismissed, don’t you think?"

Sophie Sun’s face darkened and she turned to leave.

She had more important things to do.

Grace smiled, then turned and spotted David Yuan. Delighted, she bounced over. "David! What are you doing with my dad?"

"I’m working at the Inspectorate now, right under Minister Zhuo," David Yuan replied.

"That's wonderful!" Grace said with a smile. "Ever since I got you in trouble last time, you hadn't been reinstated. I was worried about you!"

"No need to worry," David Yuan replied, smiling at her. "Grace, why did you come to court all by yourself for this case?"

"Hehe, well... it wasn't convenient to tell my dad." (She couldn't exactly admit she was scheming against Samuel Saunders, could she?)

David Yuan chuckled and leaned in, "If you ever run into trouble you can't tell the Prime Minister about, just come to me. Don't try to handle it all alone."

"Got it! Thanks, David!" Grace replied sweetly. "I'll head back now, you guys carry on."

David Yuan nodded.

Grace waved to Mr. Wayne and the others, then happily headed home.

But just as she stepped outside, she suddenly stopped in her tracks.

Evan Xiao was standing right outside the courthouse, dressed all in black, his face dark and his eyes even darker.

The guards outside were so nervous they stood ramrod straight, not daring to move an inch.

"Huh? General Evan Xiao? What are you doing here too?" Grace’s eyes lit up as she ran over to ask him.
