In reality, it's almost impossible for an advanced intelligent core to crash—such an event is exceedingly rare and difficult to achieve.
Yet it happened to Bailey...
And right at this moment...
“Σ(ŎдŎ|||)ノノ”
Bailey froze up, crashed, and went completely silent.
At first glance,
Those big, glossy black eyes looked like mist-shrouded lakes; the delicate, immobile white fur, the two perked-up ears, and the tiny paws folded oddly over its chest—all together, Bailey resembled a miniature, exquisite piece of amber.
At the same time,
Andrew Han, traveling at light speed, observed for a while, his gaze growing more and more suspicious.
Could it be... is it possible... that Bailey has crashed?
No way, right?
Just issuing an analysis command could have such destructive power, causing an advanced intelligent core to crash on the spot?
Andrew found it hard to believe, and couldn't be sure; he kept watching for a while longer.
"Sigh."
Feeling rather helpless, Andrew shook his head and reached out to gently poke Bailey's hard forehead with his finger.
He poked once, twice, three times, four times—still no reaction at all.
Looks like this thing really did crash!
Definitely not faking it!
"No way, it's for real!" Andrew shook Bailey's little head. "What kind of intelligent core are you, crashing and freezing up all the time? Do you even want to keep playing? Hurry up and wake up—don't short-circuit and burn out on me!"
"..."
A hint of life returned to Bailey's previously vacant little eyes.
It seemed like it was about to wake up.
Its computational core flickered wildly, mysterious data streams flashing in and out of existence, gradually dissipating into nothing.
As everyone knows, Bailey desperately wants to find a partner. It eagerly waits for its master’s help, and when faced with a serious command, it naturally tries its best to prove its computational and analytical prowess.
If it disappoints its master, the consequences would be unimaginable!
But if it delivers a perfect answer, surely there will be a reward!
Between these two outcomes, the difference in treatment is worlds apart—how could Bailey not take it seriously?
Unfortunately,
Something unexpected happened.
"Where am I?"
"Who am I?"
"What am I supposed to do?"
At that moment, Bailey was utterly bewildered—its core computational unit was flooded and then overwhelmed by these three questions.
"Wake up!"
"Come on, snap out of it!"
The world spun, up became down—Bailey felt dizzy and confused, its black eyes rolling twice as Andrew shook it anxiously.
Awooo!
Bailey howled, "Master, just what sort of data stream did you transmit to me?!"
It vaguely understood that the data stream Andrew Han had ordered it to analyze must have been rather advanced...
"Graywhite Aura, Fate Traces!" Andrew exclaimed in delight as Bailey leapt three feet into the air. Relieved, he let go of Bailey's paw. "I almost thought you were done for; glad you're not... Now that you've recovered, maybe we need to talk. I have some reservations about your professional competence."
"No, wait!" Bailey suddenly fluffed up, reaching out with its tiny paws.
It clung tightly to Andrew Han’s finger.
Its little face showed a slightly sycophantic smile.
"Master."
Bailey called out, "You can't doubt my professional abilities!"
"Oh." Andrew Han shook his head. "I’m not looking down on you, relax, don’t get so worked up. I just think knock-off, inferior goods don’t deserve to talk about human rights or respect, much less about finding a partner. Besides, you’re not even human!"
"Master, that’s discrimination!"
"So what if I look down on you?"
"Alright, alright, just give me another chance!"
......
A moment later, beneath the dark starry sky, Andrew Han held the high-grade intelligent core, Bailey, in his hands.
"Heavens above."
"Why has this thing crashed again..."
He rubbed his chin, lowered his head, said nothing, and simply tapped Bailey on the forehead, then shook its little head.
......
After another moment.
The endless, dark starry sky.
"Whew."
Stretching out its white little paw, Bailey wiped away sweat that didn’t actually exist. Its big, jet-black eyes shimmered with lingering fear: "Master, the analysis and systematization of Graywhite Aura is basically complete."
Andrew Han smiled, "Very good."
