Among the Ten Heavenly Venerables of Heavenly Court, few knew that the Heavenly Emperor’s eggshell had fallen into Quinn Shepherd’s hands. After all, on the day it was stolen, Quinn had almost fooled every Venerable—except for Venerable Belle.
The Ten Heavenly Venerables didn’t know who had stolen the eggshell, but they were well aware of Venerable Belle’s White Cat’s abilities. The White Cat had seen the figure disguised as the Heavenly Emperor who stole the eggshell, and possessed the power to identify who was hiding inside the Emperor’s flesh.
All they needed to do was monitor the White Cat, and they could follow the trail straight to the Heavenly Emperor’s eggshell.
In other words, Venerable Dawn and the others weren’t really watching Quinn Shepherd—they were watching Venerable Belle’s White Cat.
The White Cat’s visit to Quinn seemed secretive, arriving under cover of night, but he’d already been spotted by Venerable Dawn and the others. When the White Cat hurried away, it naturally sparked a battle among the Venerables.
Aboard the Heavenly Dragon Imperial Palanquin, Quinn watched the fight in the sky, frowned, and murmured, “I should have handed the real eggshell to the White Cat. Only the genuine Heavenly Emperor’s eggshell could make the Ten Heavenly Venerables truly tear each other apart. If they fight for it and realize the White Cat doesn’t have the eggshell, they’ll turn their suspicions back on me. Their balance will be restored.”
God-Queen Langwo laughed. “Saint Baby, you’re mistaken.”
Quinn humbly asked for guidance, “What do you think, Sister God-Queen?”
“No matter if the White Cat lives or dies, this battle for the cat won’t end the Venerables’ strife.”
God-Queen Langwo said, “When information is transparent, they’ll suspect you; when it’s opaque, they’ll suspect each other. Now, the White Cat has changed hands several times, with four Venerables fighting over him. During all this, any of them could have gotten the eggshell. So, none of them end up with it, but each suspects another Venerable stole it. That’s information chaos.”
Quinn blinked.
“With information in chaos, everyone only has part of the picture, so you get a situation where I suspect you, and you suspect me.”
God-Queen Langwo continued unhurriedly, “Venerable Belle’s White Cat may be a top master at the Lingxiao Realm, but he absolutely can’t see through Saint Baby’s divine-sense construct. He’s convinced he has the treasure, and when he’s seized by another Venerable, Saint Baby’s construct dissolves into nothing. He’ll only think another Venerable stole it. Even if he survives, he’ll still be caught in the chaos—while Saint Baby stands outside, calmly watching the turmoil.”
Quinn fell into deep thought as the Heavenly Dragon Imperial Palanquin rolled into the distance.
“Besides the four Venerables, more will join the scramble, making the information even more chaotic. In the end, who actually gets the eggshell won’t matter anymore.”
God-Queen Langwo glanced out the window. “The fifth Venerable has made a move. After this fight, the rift between the Venerables can never be mended.”
Darkness spread across the sky—that must be Venerable Void making his move.
Then, the sixth Venerable appeared, joining the battle for the cat.
One Venerable snatched the White Cat, hugged it, and disappeared into the heavens. The other Venerables vanished in turn—they must have gone after him.
This was the first battle where the Venerables truly tore off all pretenses!
