All Secrets Revealed
Dr. Oscar Young was struck dumb by Dr. Rowan Lin's words, trembling as he sized up the man before him.
The man before him wore a plain cloth robe, exuding both scholarly grace and an unmistakable sternness. He was just past thirty, his eyes sharp as blades, his features handsome and dashing, and his stature tall. Upon closer inspection, both the man and the child beside him were surrounded by a distinct herbal aroma.
It was the distinctive aroma only someone who had spent years working with herbs would carry.
As Dr. Oscar Young stared at the man, a sudden thought struck him—could this be the legendary Medical Sage of the Lin Family, Dr. Rowan Lin, spoken of in rumors across the land?
The more Dr. Oscar Young thought about it, the more convinced he became that this man fit the legend perfectly. Especially since it was said that Dr. Rowan Lin had a child left behind by his late wife, and judging by age, the child should be about the same as this youngster.
And only recently, Dr. Rowan Lin had remarried. It was said his new wife had an extraordinary background, and her daughter was... Princess Lily Hayes!?
Wait a minute!!
Dr. Oscar Young’s mind snapped to attention. He immediately turned to Lana Evans and asked, “Your sister—who is she again? Which princess?”
Lana Evans lowered her voice, "She’s Princess Lily Hayes. What’s wrong?"
“Oh no! I’m doomed!” Dr. Oscar Young’s face went ashen and he collapsed to the ground.
Lana Evans shook him anxiously, "Dr. Oscar Young, what’s wrong with you? I’m still waiting for you to prove that I’m seriously ill so everyone will believe me!"
Dr. Rowan Lin merely glanced at him, his expression unreadable. "If you know what’s good for you, you’ll confess everything you’ve done. Otherwise, I’ll have no choice but to expose every last one of your secrets."
Medical Sage!?
Susan Evans was stunned on the spot!
What? The man Wang remarried is actually the Medical Sage!?
Dr. Rowan Lin let out a cold snort and kicked Dr. Oscar Young hard on the shoulder, sending him sprawling across the floor. He scolded, "You shameless fraud! Taking silver to lie for others—how dare you call yourself a doctor!?"
Lana Evans, Susan Evans, and Cheng Jin were all dumbfounded by the scene before them.
Lana Evans panicked, rushing forward to defend herself, "We didn’t deceive anyone! Don’t talk nonsense! Dad, you have to believe me!"
Sam Evans looked at Lana Evans with utter despair and sadness, his eyes devoid of any trust.
Dr. Oscar Young immediately jumped up, pointing at Lana Evans, "It wasn’t my fault—it’s all her doing! My family was short on silver, so she stuffed money into my hands, told me to lie to her father and say she was gravely ill! She even had me trick her father into getting rare medicine, and once the herbs arrived, she’d sell them to me at a low price! I just wanted to earn a living, I never meant to deceive anyone! It was all Lana Evans’s idea! Medical Sage, I was blinded by greed—please forgive me just this once!"
"Y-You’re spouting nonsense!" Lana Evans panicked, never expecting Dr. Oscar Young to turn on her so completely and expose all her secrets.
Lana Evans looked frantically at Sam Evans, only to see that he wanted nothing more to do with them and turned to walk toward the back hall.
Seeing Sam Evans walk away, Lana Evans felt as if her money tree was flying off. She threw caution to the wind and lunged forward, "Dad, don’t go! It’s not my fault—I really didn’t tell Dr. Oscar Young to trick you! He’s just greedy for silver. I’m not even sick, but he lied and said I was gravely ill just to get me to spend money at his clinic! Dad, I’ve been wronged—it’s all Dr. Oscar Young’s fault!"
