Princess Serene’s Betrothal Gift

1/19/2026

Chase Chu shot a glance at Grant Gu Jr. in his purple robes, then strode straight onto the arena. Even though he’d known Princess Serene would choose him, having her declare it in front of so many people still made his heart race—and of course, it felt immensely satisfying to his pride.

Just then, King Warren Lin suddenly spoke up from the stands: "Wait! Princess Serene, you cannot choose this boy. His identity and background are unknown—have you even considered the consequences of picking him?"

Princess Serene hadn’t expected anyone to step in at this moment, but she clearly remembered her father telling her Chase Chu’s true identity. So she wasn’t afraid of King Lin at all—anyone who dared provoke the Immortal Realm’s number-one powerhouse was basically courting death. Maybe this was the perfect chance to get rid of him.

“Who I choose is no one else’s business—not even my father has the right to overturn my decision. I picked the first-place youth after careful consideration, so King Lin, you’d best keep your opinions to yourself.

No matter what his background is, I’m willing to accept it. This is my personal matter—outsiders have nothing to do with it. If you’d like to stay and drink my wedding wine, Serene welcomes you. But if you’re here just to stir up trouble and claim Serene Nether City has no one, then I’m not afraid of you either.” Princess Serene spoke calmly, neither arrogant nor servile.

Her words made her position crystal clear—she wasn’t giving King Lin any face at all. Being publicly mocked by a junior in front of the entire Netherworld made King Lin’s expression turn ugly. He’d come here intending to make trouble anyway, and now he had the perfect excuse.

“You insolent wench—how dare you speak to me like that? Believe it or not, I’ll make sure your wedding never happens!” King Lin roared in fury.

By now, Chase was already up on the arena. He grabbed Princess Serene’s hand and raised it high, declaring, “Our business isn’t for outsiders to meddle in. This is Serene Nether City, not Bloodsea City—if you want to act wild, at least know whose turf you’re on. For someone who’s supposed to be a great powerhouse, you sure are petty. Is Bloodsea City really so lacking?”

Chase’s words made King Lin’s face turn the color of pig liver. It was one thing for Princess Serene to talk back, but now even an ignorant junior dared mock him—his pride was completely shattered. Rage boiled over as he bellowed:

“Boy, you’re courting death! How dare you meddle in my affairs?”

As soon as King Lin finished speaking, his figure flashed and he flew straight toward the arena. King Victor Zhao immediately rushed to stand in front of Chase Chu and Princess Serene, shielding them.

"King Lin, aren't you going too far? This is my Serene Nether City. Are you really going to act as if I don't exist here?" King Victor Zhao said sternly, his tone cold and sharp.

"King Zhao, today you must give me an explanation. Either have your daughter apologize to me, or let this brat stand still and take a palm from me. Few in the Netherworld dare be so disrespectful to me," King Warren Lin declared.

Evan Chu appeared on the viewing platform in a flash, moving much faster than King Lin, and landed on the arena. He said, "If you want my son to take your palm, first show me you have the qualifications. This is not the place for you to run wild."

King Lin glanced at Evan Chu and said, "Evan Chu, don't think that just because you're friends with King Zhao you can act so arrogantly toward me. If you have the guts, fight me one-on-one and show me what you're capable of."

Evan Chu laughed, "You want to fight me? I don't think you're qualified. Why not call your pig-dog friends up here as well? Maybe then I'll give you a chance."

"How dare you! To insult me like this—today, even if you're King Zhao's friend, I'll take your life and show you that some people aren't ants you can offend!" King Lin roared in fury.

Evan Chu's expression turned serious. He said to Chase Chu and Princess Serene behind him, "You two, leave now. It's dangerous here. King Zhao, protect them well. Ivy, you don't need to worry—Jade is enough to keep you safe."

Hearing Evan Chu's words, King Victor Zhao immediately took Chase Chu and Princess Serene into the air. At that moment, King Lin struck at Evan Chu with a massive palm, the blow accompanied by thunder and wind, shaking the space around them—a true show of demigod power.

Evan Chu knew that if he clashed head-on, the violent energy would destroy the entire arena and harm the crowd below. He absolutely couldn't become the culprit for such a disaster.

With a flash, Evan Chu dodged King Lin’s palm and soared into the sky. King Lin’s attack missed, but the sheer force still obliterated the arena—proof of a demigod’s terrifying power.

"If you’ve got guts, don’t run!" King Lin shouted, flying after Evan Chu. King Grant Gu and the Beast King also rose from the stands to join them in the air.

Seeing all three monarchs in the sky, Evan Chu burst out laughing. "I’ll give you one last chance—if you quietly manage your own cities from now on, I’ll spare your lives. Otherwise, today is your death day. Especially you, King Lin!"

"Ridiculous! Absolutely ridiculous! You’re about to die and still boast you can kill all three of us? No one in the Netherworld has ever managed that! Who do you think you are, calling yourself ‘Palace Lord’? Are you claiming to be a master of some imperial palace?" King Lin sneered, his face full of contempt.

"You guessed right. I am indeed the Palace Lord of an imperial palace. Dying by my hand is a blessing for you. Enough talk—bring out all your skills, and best attack together so I don’t have to waste time with you one-by-one. I still need to get back for my son and daughter-in-law’s wedding feast," Evan Chu replied with a smile.

King Lin and King Gu’s faces turned dark. "Brat, let me teach you a lesson!" King Lin, flushed with humiliation and rage, shouted.

As soon as he finished, a black sword appeared in King Lin’s hand. Evan Chu knew that a battle here would likely destroy Serene Nether City, so he laughed, "If you’ve got the guts, follow me! Let’s see just how strong the top powers of the Three Great Forces really are!"

He instantly teleported away, heading for the place where he’d previously dueled King Victor Zhao. Seeing Evan Chu leave, King Victor Zhao finally relaxed, admiring Evan’s ability to judge what truly matters.

"Father, why aren’t you going to help? Uncle Evan is up against all three of them by himself—it’s not fair! We can protect ourselves, and besides, the Hidden Clans are here. No one will dare mess with Serene Nether City," Princess Serene protested.

Chase Chu was worried too. Even though his father was unbelievably strong, those three monarchs weren’t easy opponents. If King Victor Zhao joined in, they’d be unbeatable. He glanced at King Victor, hoping he’d step up.

"Don’t worry. Your father’s strength is far beyond theirs. All we have to do is wait for him to return. This is his betrothal gift to Serene—no one else needs to interfere. Let’s just watch and see!" King Victor Zhao said.
