Let Him Choose the Time, Just Don’t Affect My Exam
Zuo He and Zuo Shan were stunned by the scene before them, frozen in place for a long time, unable to recover their senses.
Only when the figure at the center of Heavenly Lake slowly opened his eyes and looked over at them, his gaze sharp as a blade falling upon them, did they finally snap out of it.
"Greetings, Master Morgan Yang!"
Zuo He took the lead, shouting loudly, then decisively prostrated himself on the ground, pressing his forehead to the earth.
Beside him, Zuo Shan kept kowtowing again and again, as if witnessing a miracle.
All around them was silent as ever, a gentle breeze blowing, yet Zuo He and Zuo Shan could feel a vast, mountain-like pressure sweeping over them from that direction.
"Morgan Yang! We truly didn't want to disturb your cultivation, but recently your disciple, Drake Huang, was killed on the spot by someone calling himself Master Lin!"
"I warned him that Drake Huang was your closed-door disciple, but that man not only refused to stop, he got even more ruthless. He said even if you came in person, he'd kill you too!"
Zuo He spoke with grief and indignation, his words thick with emotion and a look of utter misery.
"That's right! He came to wipe out my whole Zuo family—first he killed my son, then my wife. Drake Huang happened to be visiting that day and tried to mediate, but was murdered too. Drake Huang died so unjustly, it's the fault of my Zuo family. I beg Morgan Yang to punish us!"
Zuo Shan slammed his forehead against the ground over and over, the echo of bone on stone ringing out as blood trickled down his face. His expression twisted with pain, and soon his brow was smeared with fresh crimson.
He and Zuo He took turns, each pouring out their grief and rage as they knelt before Master Morgan Yang at the heart of Heavenly Lake, recounting every injustice Evan Lin had dealt them.
At the center of the lake, Master Morgan Yang remained motionless, gazing skyward. His brows were shadowed with sorrow as he murmured, "Back then, I entered this Heavenly Lake to shatter the Vajra shackles and step into the Pointing-to-Mystery Realm. My disciple Drake Huang was only twenty years old that year... but before I could break through, he was already lost to the world of the dead."
Morgan Yang's voice held a trace of grief, but the emotion lasted only a brief moment. Soon, his gaze grew distant and cold as he looked toward the mountain pass, at the kneeling Zuo He and Zuo Shan. "You two tracked me down for one reason only: to beg me to leave seclusion and avenge you."
"I've been hidden from the world for decades. Now, I might as well take a look—see how much things have changed after all these years, and see what this so-called Master Lin can really do!"
With those words, Morgan Yang slowly rose to his feet.
His white robe fluttered around him as he stood at the heart of the lake, encircled by countless flames. Before him, layer upon layer of water walls towered several meters high.
Morgan faced the endless walls of water as if they meant nothing. He extended his right hand and, with a casual motion, pointed forward. Instantly, a force of overwhelming power split the water walls apart, carving a straight path through the lake.
He strode toward Zuo He and Zuo Shan, each step seemingly slow but actually covering five or six meters at a time—a feat so miraculous it left them breathless with awe.
In just a few minutes, Morgan Yang arrived before Zuo He and Zuo Shan, the tension in the air thick enough to cut.
Standing between the mountain cliffs, Morgan Yang turned back for a final glance at the now-tranquil waters of Heavenly Lake, a fleeting chill flashing in his eyes.
Zuo He and Zuo Shan bowed their heads, not daring to look up.
The closer they got, the more they felt the crushing aura radiating from Morgan Yang—a force so powerful it made their hearts tremble with dread.
"Let's go. It's time to leave this place."
Morgan Yang spoke softly: "First, let me step outside and see for myself—the great rivers and mountains of our homeland, and what the world looks like now that Morgan Yang has been gone."
His voice was calm as still water. After speaking, Morgan clasped his hands behind his back and led the way forward.
Zuo He and Zuo Shan exchanged glances, scrambling to their feet. As they watched Morgan Yang's retreating figure, their eyes brimmed with awe and excitement.
Morgan Yang has returned to the world; with him, Master Lin from Seacrest is nothing to fear!
As for their once-doomed Zuo family, with Morgan Yang supporting them, they could rise again—maybe even become the number one clan in Seacrest!
That day, three figures descended Changbai Mountain together.
Seven days later, news of Morgan Yang's return swept through all of Seacrest.
Another seven days passed, and the entire East China region—from Seacrest to Jinnan—was in an uproar.
Yet most people still hadn’t actually seen Morgan Yang set foot in Seacrest; countless eyes watched and waited in secret.
Previously, Master Lin from Seacrest had killed River City’s Number One, Drake Huang—who was none other than Morgan Yang’s own disciple.
This tangled web of grudges set off a frenzy of speculation: When would Morgan Yang and Master Lin finally clash? Who would live, and who would fall?
It wasn’t until a month after Morgan Yang’s return that he finally set foot on Seacrest soil.
That legendary white-robed master who once dominated Seacrest and Jinnan, still looked unchanged except for a touch of gray at his temples.
As all eyes focused on him, Morgan Yang moved into the Zuo family mansion in River City, stunning Seacrest once again.
The once-ruined Zuo clan was instantly revived by Morgan’s presence—their mansion filled with visitors. The very next day, Morgan Yang issued a formal war post, challenging Master Lin from Seacrest!
All of Seacrest was thrown into chaos; but Morgan’s challenge received no immediate reply from Master Lin, sparking a new wave of speculation.
Morgan Yang, however, seemed in no rush—he remained in deep seclusion within the Zuo family mansion.
Sawyer Summer, now Seacrest's undisputed richest man, stood in his study with Summer Mu, both faces grave with worry.
Wayne Wang sat in the top-floor office of Wansheng Real Estate, staring out at the city lights, his brow tightly furrowed.
Only Evan Lin, far away in Capitalview, kept going to class and coming home every day—like nothing had happened at all.
"Got it. Let him pick the date—I'll be there."
Evan Lin answered the phone. On the other end, Summer Mu quickly summarized the situation in Seacrest: "The Zuo family has come back to life. Apparently, Zuo He and Zuo Shan went to bring Morgan Yang back. It's my fault for not keeping an eye on those two."
Summer Mu sounded a little guilty.
But Evan Lin didn’t mind at all; he’d spared the lives of the two Zuo men precisely to lure Morgan Yang out.
Vajra-level masters are no longer a match for Evan Lin. Maybe someone who’s touched the Pointing-to-Mystery Realm will finally be a real challenge?
Evan Lin pondered for a moment, then added, "Best if they schedule it for later—after my exams are done."
After the exams.
When Summer Mu heard those three words from Evan Lin, she couldn’t help but feel it was completely absurd.
A duel with Morgan Yang was supposed to be a matter of life and death—Master Lin's honor was on the line. But from Evan Lin's mouth, it sounded like Morgan Yang was less important than a stack of test papers!
