What? This... This...
Rina Chu was assigned a room as well.
It was a small, private room with a tiny bed, a cabinet, and a desk. Everything was in plain sight—super easy to search.
In no time, they all came out together.
The Gallant Riders' general was holding a folded piece of thick, bluish-white paper, looking excited: "We found the Defense Blueprint!"
Prince Zane Tuoba's lips curled into a smirk. He turned to Emperor Henry and reported, "Your Majesty, I've investigated thoroughly. This Rina Chu, her background is suspicious and her cultivation is deep. Now we've even found the missing Yan City Defense Blueprint in her room—she must be a spy!"
Emperor Henry glanced at Grace.
She looked perfectly calm.
So, he reached out, took the blueprint, and opened it to look.
"Your Majesty, I brought my men to catch the spy, but Grace kept protecting her and refused to hand Rina Chu over. Clearly, she's trying to cover for her!" Prince Zane Tuoba pressed on. "We should arrest Grace and the Marquis Loyal and Brave right now and interrogate them thoroughly!"
Emperor Henry closed the blueprint and looked at the Gallant Riders' general. "The Yan City Defense Blueprint is missing?"
"Yes, Your Majesty!" General Sam Ford of the Gallant Riders looked utterly miserable. "The situation was urgent, and I didn't have time to report to you. Please forgive me!"
He smiled at Prince Zane Tuoba and said, "Fortunately, thanks to the courage and quick thinking of the Eighth Prince, he immediately sent troops to block the Ling Alliance. The blueprint hadn't yet left Yanjing and was quickly recovered!"
Emperor Henry tapped the document in his hand. "Are you sure this is the Defense Blueprint of Yanjing?"
"Absolutely! I was in charge of keeping this blueprint before, and I would never mistake it!"
The paper used for the Defense Blueprint is special; you can't find this kind anywhere among the common folk.
What's more, there's even a drop of oil on the blueprint—left there when we discussed strategy over a meal.
"Is that so?" Emperor Henry tossed the document in front of him. "Take a good look!"
General Sam Ford picked it up, suspicious.
He opened it to examine.
One look—and he nearly fainted.
This wasn’t a Defense Blueprint at all!
It was covered in drawings of spiritual herbs, complete with detailed descriptions!
"Huh? Wh-what—" General Sam Ford suddenly had a sinking feeling. Stammering, he said, "Y-Your Majesty, this—this—"
"Guards!" Emperor Henry shouted.
"Here!"
"Sam Ford lost an important Defense Blueprint. Take him away and punish him according to military law!"
"Yes, sir!" Someone immediately escorted him out.
"Your Majesty, please spare me!" Sam Ford cried. "They swapped the blueprint! The spies must have switched it!"
The blueprint really had been swapped.
Last night, Rina Chu came to Grace late, saying someone had tampered with her room at the Ling Alliance.
Grace asked how she knew, and Rina said she always placed sigils on her doors and windows.
If anyone opened her door or window, she’d know instantly.
So, the two of them flew to Ling Alliance Mountain on a flying beast in the middle of the night. When they checked Rina’s room, they found the Defense Blueprint of Yanjing.
Grace then rummaged through the Ling Alliance’s warehouse and found a medicinal compendium printed on the same kind of paper as the blueprint.
This paper was thick and tough—definitely not something ordinary people could get.
But the Ling Alliance had plenty of it.
To really fool them, the two even faked that oil stain.
It looked exactly the same!
Today, when Grace heard the army was heading for Ling Alliance Mountain, she guessed right away what Prince Zane Tuoba was plotting.
So, she sent Chirpy out to deliver a message to Emperor Henry, asking him to come.
Since Prince Zane Tuoba came prepared, he definitely wouldn’t give up easily.
Only His Majesty the Emperor could keep him in check...
