The Youth

"What was that sound?"

Leo Li frowned, listening to the footsteps outside the door, his face showing displeasure: "Didn't I say it already? Outside this private room, keep it quiet!"

"Who’s out there walking around, stomping so loud? Are you trying to get fired?"

He shouted toward the door.

That sound of footsteps made Leo Li feel especially uneasy.

It was as if something was about to happen.

That uneasy feeling made Leo Li anxious inside, a kind of inexplicable irritation.

"Where is everyone?"

He called out toward the door.

Normally, there would be two waiters waiting at the door, ready to take his orders at any time.

But now, even after calling out several times, not a single person came in.

The footsteps outside remained steady and monotonous, sounding like they were getting closer and closer, but the door still hadn’t opened.

"You! Go out and tell that noisy idiot to get lost!"

Leo Li glared at Gavin Zhao standing off to the side and barked out an order.

"Yes, sir!"

Gavin Zhao didn’t hesitate for a second and quickly walked toward the door.

Inside the room, the atmosphere was strange.

Ethan Li was still coughing miserably on the floor. Master Walter Wan frowned, saying nothing, but his gaze remained fixed on the door.

He stretched out a finger, gently stirring the wisps of white smoke rising from the skull-engraved censer.

The smoke slowly gathered at his fingertip, swirling but not dispersing.

His gaze stayed locked on the door, never relaxing for a second.

"Are you brain-dead or something? Leo Li told you to get lost—don’t you understand human language or what?"

Gavin Zhao cursed as he reached the door, stretched out his hand, and yanked it open.

He stuck his head out, and when his eyes landed on what was outside, his voice abruptly cut off, leaving only a stunned expression on his face.

He looked just like a duck whose neck had been grabbed.

"What is it?"

Leo Li kicked Ethan Li on the floor again, saw Gavin Zhao frozen at the doorway, and the footsteps still hadn’t stopped. He looked over with annoyance.

But Gavin Zhao didn’t respond.

In Gavin Zhao's eyes—

The whole corridor was silent.

What met his eyes was quiet fire.

The fire burned slowly.

Orange-red flames clung to one corpse after another.

Every single corpse was a man in black.

All those men in black were Leo Li’s bodyguards.

As for the regular servers of Orchid Court Vegetarian, not a single one could be seen.

The men in black were wrapped in flames, burned into pitch black.

The fire never stopped, and the temperature was slowly rising.

Each of those men in black was extremely strong—the strongest had reached the Vajra Realm, and even the weakest was an expert in internal strength.

But these people—how could they have been set ablaze, just like that, without a sound?
