At this moment, even if the restaurant boss were an idiot, he'd realize what kind of person Jason Lin was. He immediately crawled over on his knees, kowtowing as he cried, "Brother Jason, I was wrong! I'm worthless, I must've been blind. Please forgive me, I don't want your money for the meal anymore..."
As he spoke, the boss started slapping himself hard across the face.
"Aiyo, how could I not pay? If I don't, you'll beat me to death! Quick, give him the 880,000, or we'll never get out of here!" Brother Jason hurriedly put on a humble act.
Right now, Snake really wanted to kick this idiot to death—he couldn't even speak properly.
Without another thought, he lifted his pointed leather shoe and kicked the boss square in the forehead. With a loud thud, it almost took a chunk out of the boss's skull—blood streamed everywhere.
But Snake still wasn't satisfied—he landed a few more kicks to the guy's gut, making the boss nearly puke out everything in his stomach.
"S-Snake, if you keep going like this, he'll die!" Daozai blurted out anxiously from the side—clearly, he had some kind of connection with the boss.
Seeing the boss half-dead and totally out of it, Snake finally stopped kicking and turned to Jason Lin. "Brother Jason, are you satisfied now?" he asked nervously.
"Satisfied? You call a couple of kicks and a slap 'settling things'? How many people has this black shop ripped off? Planning to let it keep scamming folks?" Jason Lin glanced at the hesitant Snake, then let out a cold laugh. "Looks like I can't count on you. Axe Club brothers, smash everything inside and out—leave nothing standing!"
"Uh...?" Snake froze, wanting to object but not daring to say a word.
Just then, a squad of uniformed men burst in from outside, each gripping a police baton. The fattest one sneered, "Smashing up the shop, are we? Who dares lay a finger on this place in broad daylight? Try it in front of me and see what happens!"
"C-Captain Xiao, it's all a misunderstanding, really! Here, let me introduce you—this is Jason Lin, head of Harbor City's Axe Club, the guy I always mention! Brother Jason!" Snake immediately switched to a friendly tone. "Brother Jason, this is Captain Xiao Ju, head of our county's security squad!"
"That's right, I'm Xiao Ju—Ju as in 'fear,' the guy everyone fears." The fat captain snorted coldly, ignoring Jason Lin. "Axe Club, huh? Since when is a street gang legal? You wanna smash up shops on my turf? Believe it or not, I'll throw all of you straight in jail!"
Seeing this, Ryan Ling and the others all stood up. Anyone with half a brain could tell—Captain Xiao definitely held shares in this black shop, probably a major stake.
When the boss was extorting people, they didn't show up. But as soon as someone wanted to smash the black shop, the security squad rushed right in—talk about quick reflexes.
Snake tried to smooth things over, but Jason Lin was already fed up. Without a word, he darkened his face and slapped Captain Xiao so hard that the two-hundred-pounder bounced away like a rubber ball.
Snake was stunned, swallowing hard—he knew Jason Lin was really pissed now.
But the security officers didn't get it—they all whipped out electric batons, shouting that they were gonna cripple Jason Lin. Looked like things were about to get bloody.
Off to the side, Frank Qin and Warren Yuan were itching to jump in—they'd been dying to teach these wolves-in-human-skin a lesson.
But with just a look from Jason Lin, all his black-suited men whipped out their pistols—each one gleaming and loaded. Two even pulled out big-caliber submachine guns from the trunk.
The moment those guns came out, Captain Xiao Ju, who was just about to explode, instantly swallowed his words. He nervously stammered, "Brothers, d-don't get angry, it's all a misunderstanding!"
"Who the hell is 'misunderstanding' you? Brothers, sweep!" Jason Lin barked. Bullets flew with a 'whoosh,' ricocheting everywhere. The whole crowd pissed themselves, scrambling to the ground and begging for mercy.
Just like that, they fired for a full half hour in front of everyone—spent shell casings littered the ground before they finally stopped.
Except for Ryan Ling’s group, everyone inside and out—including Snake, the local gang boss—looked absolutely green with fear. No way any of them would ever dare call themselves Peachvale County’s top boss again.
......
After that mess, nobody felt like sightseeing anymore. Jason Lin drove a lot faster too—he knew they'd wasted way too much time at that shady restaurant, and Lily Liu was waiting for Ryan Ling. No matter what, he couldn't afford to hold up Ryan's business.
Two hours later, Jason Lin's convoy reached Grand Bay Town. All the extra followers were set up in town, while Jason drove on for another five minutes with Ryan Ling and the others. Soon, a bright sign came into view—Lily’s Country Inn.
Finally, they'd arrived. Ryan Ling felt his spirits lift, and from a distance, he could already see Lily Liu waiting at the roadside, craning her neck in anticipation.
Right now, Lily Liu was dressed in red, her short hair framing a slightly worn but strikingly feminine face. Her figure was even more impressive—curves that made people drool. Aside from Frank Qin, Jason Lin and Warren Yuan, those two middle-aged guys, couldn't take their eyes off her. Naturally, men in their thirties and forties prefer women with real charm.
"Sis!" Seeing Lily Liu, Ryan Ling instantly turned into a kid, rushing over in three big strides to her side.
Lily Liu was clearly happy too, but when she saw the Hummer behind Ryan Ling, she froze for a moment and quickly asked who Jason Lin and the others were.
Ryan Ling introduced everyone one by one, but deliberately hid their real identities, calling them 'friends.' Of course, Sophie Su was the exception—afraid Ryan might forget her, she quickly introduced herself.
"Sis, I'm Sophie Su, and I'm Ryan Ling's girlfriend now!"
Hearing Sophie Su's sweet voice and seeing her beautiful face, Lily Liu was obviously stunned. She still smiled and nodded, but her eyes grew a little sad, and she bit her lip unconsciously—like someone had just snatched away her heart's treasure.
"Sis, what's up? Why are you staring at the girl like that?" Ryan Ling noticed Lily Liu acting out of character and quickly teased her with a grin.
"You little punk, I was just wondering what’s so great about this dark little idiot that he could land such a pretty girlfriend." Lily Liu joked, giving Ryan Ling a light smack on the head.
Ryan Ling didn’t dodge, just grinned foolishly: "Your little brother’s got charm, what can I say? Anyway, what good food have you got for me? Come on, let’s head inside!"
With that, Ryan Ling grabbed Sophie Su and headed into the inn. Lily Liu shook her head, clearly thinking her 'little brother' would never really grow up.
"Uh, Miss Liu..."
"Cut it out with the 'Miss Liu' stuff—spit it out, don’t stutter! Miss Liu, I’m Jason Lin, Ryan Ling’s..."
Nearby, Warren Yuan and Jason Lin quickly stepped forward to greet Lily Liu, but she didn’t even glance at them—just tossed out a quick "Hello" before hurrying after Ryan Ling.
"Sigh, Warren, guess we just don’t have enough charm!"
"Don’t say that, Jason, you’ve got plenty of charm! That submachine gun sweep of yours was pure badass—what’s the matter, Lily Liu’s got you tongue-tied now?"
"Alright, so what do you think of Miss Liu’s looks?"
"What do you think? She’s gorgeous—like a fairy, honestly."
"I think she’s beautiful too—really beautiful. Calling her the Peachvale Fairy isn’t an exaggeration. I’ve been to Peachvale County more than once, but never met her. Life, huh—what a waste!"
The two of them slung their arms around each other’s shoulders, grinning like fools up at the sign for 'Lily’s Country Inn.'
"Idiots!" Suddenly, Frank Qin the zombie flashed past them and spat out a clumsy human word.
"Idiots? Say that again if you’ve got the guts! You dumbass!"
"That’s right, just because you’re a zombie doesn’t mean we won’t hit you!"
......
"Come on, you guys, hurry up and have some fruit!" Lily Liu called out from the doorway when she saw they hadn’t come inside yet.
"Peachvale Fairy, here we come!" The two guys dashed inside like their pants were on fire.
With Lily Liu, Ryan Ling was always at ease, eating heartily like he’d joined a band of outlaws. Everyone dug in happily; Jason Lin and Warren Yuan kept piling food onto Lily’s plate, but her eyes never left Ryan Ling. They ate until night fell, and only then did the group finally break up.
That night, Ryan Ling wondered if sharing a room with Sophie Su would mean she’d end up sleeping with him. He was still shaking his head at the thought when Lily Liu suddenly sent him a WeChat message: "I can’t sleep. Will you come keep me company in my room?"
