Offending the Author

Nathan Ye stood awkwardly in place. He raised his hand, instinctively wanting to cover his bald head with his palm, but when his hand landed on his scalp, he realized that his glaringly shiny bald spot was far too large for one hand to hide.

Su Li looked at Nathan Ye's appearance, feeling both sympathy and the urge to laugh.

The speed at which Nathan Ye was losing hair was truly unprecedented. His hairline had been worrying before, but now he was bald except for a ring around the edge of his scalp. What kind of karma was this (offending the author), to end up like this?

April quickly brought out a wig, dragged Nathan Ye into the house, pressed him down into a chair, and said, "Minister Ye, sit still. I'll put your new wig on for you, or how will you face anyone later?"

Nathan Ye felt like crying. He sat down quietly, letting April place the wig on his glaringly bald head.

After fixing the wig, April looked Nathan Ye over and sighed, "Minister Ye, if you lose any more hair, you'll need a full wig cap."

Nathan Ye looked up at April, feeling utterly stabbed in the heart!

He didn't want to be bald! He was only twenty-three, but with a bald head, he looked forty!

Who did he offend to deserve this (because you offended the author!)!?

Nathan Ye nearly choked on his own blood—like an uncle, seriously?!

April was sixteen, but he was only twenty-three. Seven years apart and suddenly he’s her uncle—what a critical hit!

Leonard Liang had a sunny, handsome look and carried himself with poise. After greeting Su Li and Nathan Ye, he said, "I've long heard of Chancellor Su. It's truly an honor to finally meet you today."

He then turned to Nathan Ye and said, "Minister Ye, I often hear Miss April mention you. She says you are diligent and devoted to the country and its people—a true pillar of the nation."

April giggled, "That's right, Minister Ye is a good official. I really respect him, just like I would respect an elder. I may not have any parents, but I feel like Minister Ye is like an uncle to me."

Nathan Ye nearly choked on his own blood—like an uncle, what the heck!

April was sixteen, but he was only twenty-three. A seven-year age gap and suddenly he was her uncle—what a blow!

April quickly explained, "Leonard, you misunderstood—Minister Ye isn’t forty, he’s only in his twenties. But you can’t really blame you for the mistake; Minister Ye is so mature and steady. The first time I met him, I also thought he was forty."

Thirty is the age to stand, forty is the age of no doubt—Nathan Ye stared wide-eyed at Leonard Liang, feeling another wave of blood rush up.

He realized Leonard Liang had mistaken his age, thinking he was forty.

Nathan Ye, devastated at being mistaken for a forty-year-old uncle, kept telling himself: April wouldn’t mind, she’d always be his sweetheart.

Nathan Ye, devastated at being mistaken for a forty-year-old uncle, kept telling himself: April wouldn’t mind, she’d always be his sweetheart.

Nathan Ye, a certified pretty boy, just happened to be bald—how could he possibly look forty!

Nathan Ye was crying inside: He was twenty-three, a certified pretty boy—not forty! He honestly wanted to die!

Su Li looked at Nathan Ye’s expression and shook her head sympathetically. This was the fate of bald men—(for offending the author).

Nathan Ye, devastated at being mistaken for a forty-year-old uncle, kept telling himself: April wouldn’t mind, she’d still be his little wife.
