Inside the Divine Temple, Ian Song sat cross-legged in the training room.
A top-grade Law Pill floated in front of him, its enticing fragrance filling the air.
Thanks to the storage ring gifted by his master Ancestor Martin, he now had plenty of sixth- and seventh-grade Immortal Medicines, so he refined them into Law Pills.
Law Pills aren’t just great cultivation pills for Profound Immortals—they’re also a superb breakthrough medicine for late-stage Golden Immortals.
With a Law Pill, a late-stage Golden Immortal’s odds of breaking through to Profound Immortal increase several times over.
But Law Pills on the market are insanely expensive—even a regular one costs over ten billion immortal stones, and a top-grade Law Pill is worth a fortune.
Of course, refining Law Pills is extremely difficult. Just the required sixth-grade Immortal Medicines total twenty-seven, and you need nine seventh-grade ones too. Even Profound Immortal experts can’t easily gather all these ingredients.
Despite all the immortal stones Ian earned before, he’d never managed to get even a single seventh-grade Immortal Medicine.
But now, after taking Ancestor Martin as his master, he suddenly had so many sixth- and seventh-grade Immortal Medicines that he was able to refine a total of 137 top-grade Law Pills.
Just one top-grade Law Pill could easily fetch five billion immortal stones, and people would still fight to buy it.
Just goes to show, being a pill refiner is an insanely profitable business.
But Ian had no intention of selling those top-grade Law Pills.
He planned to use them to nurture his own people.
He threw Adrian Moon, Queenie Green, and Piper Willow into the Divine Temple to cultivate, with time sped up a thousandfold. After decades inside, and with no shortage of pills, all three had reached peak late-stage Golden Immortal. If they took a top-grade Law Pill now, their odds of breaking through to Profound Immortal were very high.
"Uncle Yule, I’ll be leaving Greenmount Courtyard for a while!"
A short while later, Ian went to find Uncle Yule.
"Young master, are you heading out for something important? If you need any help, just let this old servant know!" Uncle Yule said kindly. The person before him was his master’s only disciple, with amazing talent—sure to inherit his master’s legacy one day.
Ian shook his head and said, "No need, Uncle Yule. It’s just a minor matter."
"Alright then, young master—be careful out there. If you run into trouble you can’t handle, just use our master’s name!" Uncle Yule reminded Ian with concern.
"I will, Uncle Yule!"
After saying goodbye to Uncle Yule, Ian left Greenmount Courtyard, exited Snowgoose City, and headed straight for a stretch of wilderness. He set up protective formations around him, then brought Adrian, Queenie, and Piper out.
"Greetings, young master!"
The three immediately bowed in salute.
"No need for formalities," Ian said, tossing each of them a top-grade Law Pill. "These are Law Pills. Once you take them, your chances of breaking through to Profound Immortal will increase dramatically. Go ahead and take them now."
"Thank you, young master!"
The three were deeply moved—they all knew just how precious Law Pills were, and Ian had given each of them one. How could they not be touched?
Soon, the three swallowed their pills and entered cultivation.
The medicinal power of a top-grade Law Pill was intense. It took all three several days to refine the energy, and then they each focused on breaking through to Profound Immortal.
Five days later, Adrian was the first to break through, condensing a Law Sigil and successfully advancing to early Profound Immortal.
Eight days later, Queenie followed, also condensing a Law Sigil and advancing to Profound Immortal.
On the ninth day, Piper failed to break through.
Seeing Adrian and Queenie both succeed while she alone failed, Piper felt utterly dejected—like she’d wasted such a precious Law Pill and was completely useless.
She’d never imagined she’d ever get the chance to take a Law Pill.
Adrian gently shook his head, while Queenie softly comforted her.
"Enough, so you didn’t break through—just try again!" Ian said bluntly.
Piper said sadly, "I just feel like I wasted your pill, young master."
"It’s just a Law Pill, no big deal. Here, take another and try again!"
Ian tossed another Law Pill to Piper.
"Ah!"
Stunned by Ian handing her another top-grade Law Pill, Piper hesitated for a moment. In the end, she overcame her desire and tried to hand the pill back. "Young master, I can’t waste your pills anymore!"
"Alright, stop being so dramatic! Just take the pill and break through!"
Ian said, a bit impatiently.
"But I...!"
Ian waved impatiently. "No buts—just take the pill and don’t waste time!"
"Piper, just listen to the young master!" Queenie urged.
"Piper, don’t stress—do what the young master says and take the pill!" Adrian added.
"Young master, I won’t let you down this time!"
Determined, Piper’s eyes flashed with resolve. She put the pill in her mouth, sat down cross-legged, and began refining its power.
Five days passed.
Piper successfully condensed a Law Sigil inside her body and advanced to early Profound Immortal.
"Thank you for fulfilling me, young master!"
Piper stood up and bowed deeply to Ian.
Ian waved it off, then summoned nine more peak late-stage Golden Immortals from the Divine Temple and tossed each of them a top-grade Law Pill, telling them to try breaking through.
A few days later,
Six out of the nine succeeded in breaking through.
Ian didn’t give the remaining three another Law Pill—after all, his supply was limited.
Next, he checked on his wives: Diana Toba, Lila Li, Lynne Ward, Bella Bai, Lena Ling, and Vivian Ouyang had all reached peak late-stage Golden Immortal ahead of the others. The rest weren’t quite there yet, but were close.
Once those six broke through, the others should all reach peak late-stage Golden Immortal too—after all, one day outside was nearly three years inside the Divine Temple.
All six women had excellent talent and were cultivating top-tier techniques provided by Ian, so none took more than three days to absorb the pill’s power. Their breakthroughs were lightning-fast: in just five days, all advanced to Profound Immortal.
Back inside the Divine Temple, the rest of the women had also reached peak late-stage Golden Immortal, so Ian simply summoned them out in batches and gave them Law Pills to attempt breakthroughs.
Eight days later, the rest of the women broke through one after another.
By the time they finished, more than a month had passed outside. Ian decided it was time to return to Greenmount Courtyard, and planned to bring all the women back with him.
When Uncle Yule saw Ian return from a short trip with so many stunning beauties, he couldn’t help being surprised.
"Young master, who are they?"
"Except for her, the rest are all my wives!" Ian pointed to Raina Quinn, then told the women, "This is Uncle Yule—pay your respects!"
At once, all the women offered their greetings.
Uncle Yule quickly said, "Young madams, no need to be so formal—please, rise!"
After the greetings, Uncle Yule told Ian, "Young master, our master has already come out of seclusion and instructed that you should see him as soon as you return!"
"Thank you for letting me know, Uncle Yule. I’ll go right away. By the way, could you help settle the ladies in?"
"Don’t worry, young master—I’ll make sure all the young madams are properly settled!"
After saying goodbye to Old Yule, Ian headed straight for Ancestor Martin’s residence. When he entered, he found not only Ancestor Martin, but also two other elderly men.
Anyone who could sit as equals with Ancestor Martin had to be on his level—these two were almost certainly the other Ancestral Immortals secretly living in Snowgoose City.
