The people behind him were far less composed. The burly man stared foolishly at his master ahead, as if trying to see whether his master truly had three heads and six arms. But the man beside him was obviously not so thick-skinned; he immediately barked, "How dare you!"
Roxy Shangguan shrank into Quentin Hua’s embrace, her voice full of grievance. "Quentin, Mother was right— even the Sixth Prince’s attendants are ferocious monsters!"
Roxy grumbled inwardly. Who told this Sixth Prince to upset Quentin? She loved teasing Quentin herself, but she wouldn’t let anyone else bully him! Clearly, someone had no idea why Quentin was truly upset.
Roy Qing was furious and wanted to scold her, but Nathan Saint came to his senses and stopped him. He asked kindly, "Little sister, who is your mother?"
Roxy thought for a moment and replied, "Mother is Father’s beloved!"
Three black lines slid down Nathan Saint’s forehead. He realized he truly wasn’t good at talking to children.
Roxy blinked innocently at him. Nathan Saint decided not to talk to her anymore and turned to Quentin Hua, saying, "It’s already noon. Would you do me the honor of sharing a meal together?"
Quentin Hua was about to refuse, but Roxy kept nodding enthusiastically. "Yes, yes! Quentin, let’s go!"
Quentin Hua frowned, but seeing Roxy’s eager face, he couldn’t bear to disappoint her and nodded.
In the private room of the restaurant, Roxy sat on Quentin Hua’s lap. With a wave of her tiny hand, she declared boldly, "Waiter, bring out all your signature dishes!"
The waiter froze for a moment, then hesitantly said, "Sir, we have a lot of signature dishes at our restaurant."
Because Nathan Saint had spent years traveling, he no longer cared much for formalities. So Roy Young and Roy Qing joined them at the table. Still, even with this many people, they couldn’t possibly finish all the signature dishes!
This was the largest and finest restaurant in Magnolia Town. The prices were outrageous, and the signature dishes were extremely popular with a vast variety to choose from.
Roxy Shangguan propped herself up on the table, her tiny feet planted on Quentin Hua’s lap as she wobbled unsteadily. Quentin quickly steadied her. Roxy looked at the waiter, chin held high, and said arrogantly, "Do you think we can’t afford it?"
Without waiting for the waiter to reply, Roxy turned to ask, "Quentin, did you bring any money?" Of course Quentin Hua had—he’d even bought her candied hawthorn earlier.
Roxy kept blinking at him, and Quentin curled his lips and shook his head. "We left in too much of a hurry." Earlier, Roxy had insisted on coming to this restaurant, and he’d suspected something was up. Now it seemed she was planning to treat the Sixth Prince to a costly meal. He wondered what Nathan Saint had done to earn her dislike. At least he didn’t need to worry about gaining another rival for Roxy’s affection.
He had to admit, he was far too paranoid—did he really think everyone would fall for a little girl like he did?
Still, he was curious how Roxy Shangguan knew this was the most expensive restaurant in town.
Hearing this, Roxy instantly wilted, but then she suddenly remembered something. She turned to Nathan Saint, her face full of hope.
"Ahem..." Nathan Saint felt uneasy under her burning gaze and quickly said, "I brought money. Little sister, order whatever you like."
Roxy Shangguan beamed, looking at the waiter and lifting her chin. "Did you hear that? We have money!"
"Yes, yes! Please wait a moment, sir. The dishes will be out soon!" The waiter was simply worried they didn’t know what they were getting into, so he’d tried to warn them. But since they insisted, he had no reason to say more.
Just as he was about to leave, the little girl’s soft voice piped up again, "Waiter, I heard your restaurant has a legendary treasure dish. I want to try it." Though she spoke to the waiter, her expectant gaze landed on Nathan Saint.
Nathan Saint couldn’t handle that hopeful look and quickly turned to the waiter. "Did you hear that?"
The waiter nodded quickly, adding, "The legendary treasure dish can only be approved by the owner!" That dish was so expensive it could bite, but after all that had happened, he didn’t remind them again.
Nathan Saint was surprised. This legendary treasure dish seemed to have quite a reputation. He couldn’t help but be curious. "Well, go and fetch the owner, then!"
"Yes, yes, right away!"
Soon, the owner came in, sizing up each guest before his gaze settled on Quentin Hua. He instinctively felt this man was the one to watch. As for Roxy Shangguan, he ignored her completely—who would pay special attention to a little girl?
Quentin Hua lounged lazily in his seat, saying nothing. Roxy Shangguan pulled out the jade pendant hanging around her neck and played with it, her eyes shining with hope as she said to the owner, "Owner, I want to try your legendary treasure dish. Don’t worry, this gentleman is very rich!" She pointed her little finger at Nathan Saint.
Quentin Hua noticed the owner’s eyes flash with surprise and excitement when he saw the jade pendant on Roxy’s neck. Quentin couldn’t help but raise his brows—clearly, there was much about Roxy he didn’t know yet!
But wasn’t that jade pendant the token of affection he’d given her?
The owner glanced at Nathan Saint, then knowingly instructed the waiter to bring out the legendary treasure dish and to hurry up with the rest of the food. He stressed that the guests must be served well and not neglected. The waiter, sensing the importance of the guests, dared not slack off.
Soon, a parade of dishes arrived, each one mouthwatering. There were so many that the owner had extra tables brought in just to hold them all.
Nathan Saint looked at the spread and twitched his lips. He finally understood why the waiter had tried to warn them—it really was too much!
"Sir, this is our legendary treasure dish!" The waiter entered with a tray, atop which sat a bowl filled with wine. The moment he entered, the room was filled with the rich aroma of wine. Everyone’s eyes turned to the bowl, unable to resist its allure. Was this really the legendary treasure? It certainly lived up to its name!
