Entering the Sea

Ian Song spent three hundred gold to buy a medium-sized ship, shelled out another hundred gold to hire over ten sailors, and then dropped five hundred gold to recruit twenty Divine Sea cultivators, plus a skilled chef and two average-looking maids.

Two hours later, the ship officially left the docks and headed out to sea.

The ship was equipped with specialized fishing gear, so that evening, the chef showed off his skills and prepared an all-fish banquet.

Don’t be fooled by the chef’s dark, short stature—his cooking was truly exceptional.

Ian tipped him five gold on the spot, making the chef so happy he could barely tell east from west. From then on, he whipped up all sorts of delicious dishes to please Ian.

Chatting with the sailors, Ian learned that reaching the Skysea Sword Sect would take at least half a year of sailing across the ocean.

Three days later.

The ship had sailed out of the near-sea zone. The sailors grew visibly tense, and even the Divine Sea cultivators became more alert.

Most of the fierce beasts in the near-sea had already been hunted down, so they were rare now.

But once you left the near-sea, dangerous beasts became much more common.

Fortunately, a bag of excrement from a powerful sea beast was hung at the bow. With the beast’s strength, most others wouldn’t dare approach after catching a whiff of its scent.

Meanwhile, on the other side...

After three days at sea, the Rose-Sea Crew’s ship finally arrived at a secluded bay.

This bay was home to a special kind of sea beast—the Ironclad Sea Clam.

Ironclad Sea Clams are weakly aggressive, with shells as tough as armor and meat that’s incredibly tender. A pound of clam meat sells for one silver, and the shells can be used to craft armor—each shell usually fetches between a hundred and five hundred silver.

If you’re lucky, you might even find a Seapearl inside an Ironclad Sea Clam.

Even a regular Seapearl can sell for a hundred gold, while top-quality ones can easily go for over a thousand gold.

“Captain, are there really Ironclad Sea Clams here?”

On the Rose-Sea Crew’s ship, Rosie Ning stood at the bow while the rest of the crew gathered beside or behind her.

Rosie Ning nodded, a hint of excitement in her eyes. “I paid a hefty price for this info. If we can haul up over a hundred Ironclad Sea Clams this time, we’ll make a serious profit.”
